Wes, co-founder of Nodus checking in! A few of your subscribers sent us this video. Man, oh man, this is some of the best video work I've seen on RUclips in a long long time. Thank you so much for taking the time to review this watch and a HUGE thanks to Tony for sending it in.
Hey Wes, thanks for stopping by and saying hi..appreciate your kind words. The watch is great btw, Tony is a really great friend and he wanted me to enjoy this and I tell you what, it has ticked the right boxes for me !! Cheers from Melbourne
@@irapenges they aren’t currently in production, as we are focusing on other models. If it’s something you’d like to see us bring back, we are definitely open to it.
Its nice, but I prefer the Alpinist, Greater WR, better lume, much better movement and higher power reserve. Plus the reversed crystal on this and the lack of internal compass bezel which is the Alpinist’s USP That said this is still a nice watch and its nice to see more fields than divers, great video subbed 👍
Another nice thing about the date complication at 4:30 - the number is oriented in the same position as the numbers, not turned. THAT makes it more legible in my mind. I've pretty much stopped buying anything with NH35s anymore, but the watch certainly is fetching. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice too see a Nodus Sector on your channel. I recently got the DLC version and absolutely love it. I really want a Sector Pilot but don't care for the color combos they are currently offering - if the blue one had orange accents as opposed to green, I would be all over that one.
Tony, how nice is that gesture. Well done mate. Quietly impressed with this one. Overall a beautiful watch and one I have never heard of. Will be looking at getting one. PK hope your well brother. TOP REVIEW as always.
Great review of a great looking watch. Love the legibility of the simple face. Reservations about the date placement but you don’t know until you see it in person. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Take care and stay safe 👍🏼
Really nice video. Wasn’t familiar with nodus and now on the radar. Lugs look quite long but I guess no worse than others I have (mega skinny 6.25 inch wrist)
Beautiful! What I love about is that dial. It's so beautifully designed especially the colour combo you are reviewing. And Seiko movement in it is another plus. Great review 👍👍 thank you
I think the flat but domed on the underside was on purpose to add a different vibe than most field watches, as if the reflections have a personality in themselves.
It's a great watch, Nice review and hats of to Nodus for taking the time to Regulate the NH35. $425 is still quite steep though for a watch with a NH35. Would be looking at $500+ after VAT and import fees for those of us across the pond.
Nodus is my go to micro brand. They are very well made for their price. I have the avalon, retrospect II, duality, and contrail II. The sector will be my next grab.
It's really pretty. It reminds me of the JLC Polaris. The only things I'd change is the sandwich details (i prefer them in the outside ring) and the way they added the date window because I feel like those details dirty the dial.
Beauty of a watch. I am sold by that dial. To bad they went with nh35 instead should case the miyota 9015 and it would be perfect. Add a bracelet and you could sell it as sports watch. Nice time piece no doubt.
Nodus pulled a great watch. Got to love the date window and the crown, and the lug drills sure come handy. I've no opinion of the domed sapphire, I think it gives it a bit of unique touch. Probably the only thing I cannot find myself appreciate is the gradient dial, not in this watch and not in the new gen Alpinists. Hard to explain but gradients to me give a bit of an odd vibe, I'm probably just getting older.
Nice little watch , no nonsense, easy to read although I'd have no chance with the date. Still prefer the alpinist though , has a certain charm about it, although the nodus dial is cool. Great video as always Peter, your quality just keeps on getting better and better.
Hi Peter, great review as usual. I don't think this should be compared to the Alpinist. The Nodus is good enough to stand on its own. As a pure field watch I think it's better than the Alpinist. Like the Rolex Explorer it fly's under the radar. A purposeful yet subtle watch that doesn't have to shout "look at me". This definitely one for my collection.
looking at it from the top down it reminds me of a nomos ( due to the straight lugs) and a hamilton khaki. the finishing looks really nice on this one.
I do like nodus but this sector feels just too busy. I think the comparison to the alpinist is a little lost on me, seems more like a Hamilton khaki field comparison would be better. In any case I’d choose an Alpinist over the sector. Alpinist has a lovely fit on a smaller wrist and the polished case is something I’m personally very fond of. On top of that I don’t think the argument of cost is valid, firstly you can get an alpinist in Europe from an AD for around 450 euros if you look around. Secondly you can also argue that nodus is pricey and you could get a steeldive for 100 dollars that has all the features of the nodus. So 🤷🏻♂️ some of the arguments for the nodus didn’t convince me. Great vid as always but don’t really agree this time. Stay safe Pete 🙌
Points taken 🙏 I suppose I was going on what it costs us here in OZ As for the Alpinist, I’ve had four of them over the years and although I love the watch, I always thought it looked a little dressy (being polished) rather than field suitable Again that’s just me Cheers bro
Peter Kotsa Yepp I can see that too and I know you’ve had your fair share of them, plus you’ve been a little let down by the movement in the past. I’d certainly not steer someone away from nodus, they have great pieces. And valid point on the OZ pricing. I think people looking at the alpinist but feel it’s too dressy could look at the 117, 201 (matte dials) or maybe the ‘baby’ alpinists. I think that’s what i love about the alpinist, has that dressy but toolish look to me. As always love the content and a little friendly differing opinion never hurts 🙌 keep em coming 😍
Considering seiko can't seem to line their bezels up in the alpinist I'd say this is leagues better. That and I just love the way it looks. If I can get my hands on one it would be my favorite watch ever I wouldn't even change the strap
Hi Peter, this emerging trend back towards sub 40mm case widths means more watches are nice to look at but ultimately too small for we of the larger wristed community.to seriously consider buying.
Recently sold my Alpinist, had it for many years, but didn't get hardly any wrist time because it was too small. I like this, but same size as the Alpinist so I'll probably get a Hamilton Khaki King. Cheers, good review 👍🏻👍🏻
Such an interesting watch! I love the finishing on the case and the dial, it looks like a modern field watch imo. I just think it’s a bit too tall, but for the rest, great work! Congrats on the video, very very good review!
What a generous guy Tony is ! Love the watch mate. It's certainly different for a field watch but at the same time so obviously a field watch. Fresh is what I think I'm trying to say. The size is great and so are all the little colour details. Got to get one. Cheers Peter.
I think the whole Sector lineup is a homerun for Nodus. I got a Sector Sport and I am tempted by the Sector Pilot in salmon once it comes back in stock.
I'm not surprised by price rises - it seems to be across the board. Collecting a swag of low cost autos carries a hefty service cost in around three to five years. BTW is that $425 USD ? In many places you've got to add VAT or GST.
Nodus is probably the best wild card in microbrands, all their watches are top notch, still my favorite is Retrospect, champagne dial, an amazing watch. A big shout-out to Tony, great gesture. G'day Pete! I like this watch! If you compare the NH35 to a the Seiko Alpinist's 6R35, the latter may be the better movement on paper. But I've see other reviews suggesting the Seiko gives a d*** about how these movements are regulated. I'd hands down prefer this NH35 if its regulated to 4 positions. Cheers! 👍

Alpinist has an inner rotating bezel and a bunch of mismatched features. This does not seem to be in the same field watch arena as an Alpinist because this watch actually makes sense.
Is this comparable to seiko alpinist? This is a sector dial while alpinist is known with inner rotating bezel. It looks more similar to Hamilton khaki imo.
I got the sector phantom. I can’t bond with it. I just hate the bezel. I also have the sector sport. Looooove it. Their bead blasted case is ugly. The brushed case is perfection.
Hey Peter, great video however once more, a video that reviews a watch and it is sold out. Not criticizing and it's not just you, I've seen this with a lot of other watch reviewers and of course in this particular case this watch was a gift. On the plus side your video let's us discover a new micro brand: Nodus.
This is a nice watch, but honestly the Alpinist is very different and in my opinion a little better and classic in styling. So this guy should stop picking up random watches and calling it better than well established models. This rather can stand on its own without ridiculously compared to an Alpinist.

Date frames at 430 work when they are parallel (and colour matched) like this.
Didn't expect a watch with NH35 to be this thin.
That is badass!
Is this comparable to seiko alpinist? This is a sector dial while alpinist is known with inner rotating bezel. It looks more similar to Hamilton khaki imo.
True
I only compared it to the Alpinist because I’ve personally had four of them
So I wanted to share value for money is with the Nodus 👍
very beautiful
Ideal for the funny handshake crowd...
Very nice watch
Nice watch. However the date window is a show stopper.
I got the sector phantom. I can’t bond with it. I just hate the bezel. I also have the sector sport. Looooove it. Their bead blasted case is ugly. The brushed case is perfection.
Nice!
Is it me or does the logo above Nodus on the dial look like the Masonic compass and square???
Oris Big Crown vibes.
Why would any pay that much for USA made watch when you can get Swiss made for the same price ?
Hey Peter, great video however once more, a video that reviews a watch and it is sold out. Not criticizing and it's not just you, I've seen this with a lot of other watch reviewers and of course in this particular case this watch was a gift. On the plus side your video let's us discover a new micro brand: Nodus.
Yeah I noticed that on their website
I think that Nodus will surely re release this due to popular demand 👍
I’ll trade my sector pilot phantom for pretty much any other nodus, or other similar watch.
Dial is beatiful.
Looks better in real life 👍
Nodus is a killer micro brand. Thanks for profiling them.
My pleasure
This is a nice watch, but honestly the Alpinist is very different and in my opinion a little better and classic in styling. So this guy should stop picking up random watches and calling it better than well established models. This rather can stand on its own without ridiculously compared to an Alpinist.
It looks like a Hamilton khaki field.
NH35 and 500 Dollar?
Nice but prefere my alpinist. Sarb017.
