  • It's my first review of a product from the Dungeon Master's Guild, provided by the authors! Do you like Spelljammer and Raveloft, but want to mix them together rather than leaving them apart as separate campaign settings? Well, this is something you might be interested in.
EDIT: I wanted to note an important difference between the English and the Portuguese version, which Gabriel helpfully brought to my attention! In fact, the latter has a very helpful disclaimer about the Aperusa and Vistani:
"Both the classic settings of Ravenloft and Spelljammer had a group of wanderers, an itinerant group of humans who adopted a nomadic lifestyle, that drew inspiration directly from the Romani in our real world.
Unfortunately, both the Vistani (Ravenloft) and the Aperusa (Spelljammer) had in previous editions many harmful stereotypes and presented an unfair view of the complex culture of the Romani people.
The Aperusa were not brought back in the 5th edition version of Spelljammer, and the Vistani were drastically changed in the new version of Ravenloft presented in the Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft.
In this section we shall try to integrate both the Vistani and the Aperusa, to make the Aperusa one of the tribes of the Vistani that wanders through wild space. This proposal seeks to bring a new faction and group to populate Dread Space, and also make a nod to elements of the classic lore of Ravenloft and Spelljammer.
We do not seek to reintroduce any harmful stereotypes of previous editions. As any human race and culture, the members of the Aperusa should not be treated as single-minded or caricatured culture, and all its members should have a wide range of morality and motivations."
DISCLAIMER: I was not involved in the creation of, or sale of, this product in any way, either creatively or commercially. My comments are intended for the purpose of review only.

Amazing Review! It feels strange to watch an analysis of our own work, but it's great to see a different perspective on the material we create. Your own ideas for the domains are great, and it is refreshing to see different takes on our initial concepts. This is our first project as The Black Feather, and I hope we can improve on the next ones, so your feedback and review are surely going to help us! About the Tribe of the Aperusa, as you mentioned in the video description we wrote a disclaimer about the topic, which should have appeared in the Portuguese (Espaço do Medo) and English (Dread Space) versions, but for an editing mistake, a few paragraphs were cut out from the English version, appearing only in the Portuguese one. We have already contacted our coauthor Pedro Wah to correct this as soon as possible and upload a new file on the Dms Guild with the proper disclaimer.

Incredible! I love that you gave a very honest and technical review of what worked and what didn't, and even gave some really good ideas on how to fix it! Please review Netheril Empire next, and maybe how to run it in 5th Edition! Hugs from Brasil :D

I Love this video! Bought this product and love it for the most part, most of my minor complaints were ones you had as well funny enough!
I got into spelljammer a little before it got announced for 5th edition, so i actually have the adventure crystal spheres, and was stoked to see someone made a whole domain for T'laan!
Basically the whole adventure is about T'laan attempting to trick people from one planet to go to another so he can effectively keep them like cattle (this is hyperbole of course, it makes a BIT more sense in context), and at the very end of the adventure, the dm notes suggest that if T'laan succeeds, or if hes defeated at a certain point in the adventure, that he'd be sucked into the mists! It doesnt give any details on what exactly the domain would be like, basically just told the dm to make it themselves using the ravenloft books lol

The backstory of the illithid dreadlord former psionicist is literally the backstory of my Ulitharid PC. I thought I had an original idea, but thinking about it, there was no way it would have been.

I would love to see a Domain where it is built like a Visual Novel and you have to progress through it to figure out the dark lord and when you do it turns from a Romance to Horror or another one where the Dark Lord murdered his or her family and the Domain is just the house they use to live in with their family and the party have to make the person realize what they did so you can progress to the next one. I know it sounds almost like Cyre 1313 but I want almost a heartbreaking Domain.

Ah. It uses AI art? That’s a big shame. It was sounding pretty cool too. Pass
