Tema que pertenece al segundo album como solista de John Foxx: The Garden (1981). Dennis Leigh alias John Foxx pertenecía a la banda inglesa de new wave llamada Ultravox, la cual él mismo fundo en 1976.
Absolute proof that electronic music can have heart and soul and beauty. JF was an early pioneer of the genre and deserves far greater recognition for his contribution to music than he received. Thankfully he's still going strong 👍
John Foxx was a pioneer and totally underrated. Spent hours listening to this album at uni. Sad that he didn't get the recognition he deserves.
Political correctness, what they get away with today & the language. Release of Burning Car might have turned a few heads. Where is 2Pac when you need him . Hit em up Dirty. Why was Visage, In the Year 2525 snubbed 1978.
Still an EXtra-ordinary Track>>that combines Synth with a Classical musical Style/scope} and lyrical Poetry>>remarkable work that resonates so artfully today!! Amazing Piece of musical magic! Superb!
Now this is a soundtrack to fading summer light as well as to fading life. Outstanding
I had this vinyl and I’m happy to revisit it, although it was so haunting at the time and I felt such emotion, however we couldn’t admit we liked punk AND synch music ....such were the days 😳🤭
Punks were romantics disillusioned how the world was turning !
Touching, intense, moving... a perfect song
My all time favourite album. So atmospheric. Always takes me to another place in my mind.
Played this (again and again!) after watching the first run of "Brideshead Revisited" - this, and that are forever entwined. Beautiful music by a clever, talented man. Thank you, Mr Foxx.
This track sounds absolutely phenomenal when listened to on a great stereo and turntable from the B-side of the "Your Dress" 12" single!
Shivers down my spine... always and forever.
What a fantastic album, the title track is a masterpiece.
This and "pater noster" should go down in history as modern Hymns !
I still love this beautiful, unique and so atmospheric album. Its a really special thing.
Underrated. Brilliant.
David Siuraneta Hostia, David!
K bo trobar-te aquí... Sempre em va fascinar aquest tema!
Splendid masterpiece
One of my favourite songs - so beautiful!
We've been sleeping in the garden
Breath of summer, breath of gold
As we turn against the sweep of hills
The sky's aglow
We fade away
We fade away
She burns away in light and silver
Luminous through all these years
Every gesture filled with longings
I still feel
We fade away
We fade away
We fade away
We fade away
I see you standing in the long light
Dress discarded, windows glow
All across the wild horizons
The sunset goes
We fade away
We fade away
We fade away
We fade away
Модерна класика. Ремек дело.
Beautiful :-)
This whole album is just so excellent.
Such a shame he never plays anything from it live now.
A true pioneer.
Decades later, I still bawl my guts out when I hear this.
The sunset goes... we fade away... Chilling and majestic!!! One of my favourite albums ever!!!
Simply sublime. One of those powerful modern hymns like Scott Walker's Farmer In The City.
Eurthmics had teleased the album the Garden, english summer what a great track. So going back to the early French language lessons, two words that became a memory, le Lapin ( the rabbit) & la. Jardin
Fantastica
Underrated Voice
This track makes me need to return some video tapes
The innovative pioneer (hidden man) forgotten, not even on JM Jarre electronica comp
We are his recognition
atmospheric etheral enchanting song
magnificent
Really get visions of a hot English garden in July
Sounds Gothic. Really good.
gary numan stole his thunder a real synth pioneer
Numan respected Foxx and modelled himself on early Ultravox.Strange how Numan went into the studio to make a punk album saw a keyboard in the corner, pressed a key and he really liked the sound. The rest is history
👍❤️
And MR FOXX says that he can not sing. One thinks he can 😊😊😊
sally was crying. she knew it was over. but. was stubborn. it was the most destructive period of my life.
Uuuuf!!!!
why do people quote lyrics online do they think only they can hear them as they are subline hidden messages
I honestly think is just a form of emphasizing something they specifically like. I see nothing wrong with it.
I agree with Karla. When you hear the beginning and remember the words in all their majesty it just leads to either singing out loud or in this case just writing/typing the lyrics for all who know them to cherish the memories and for those hearing them for the first time, letting them know that what they are hearing is very powerful and very special. I Appreciate seeing those lyrics in this post. I also want to tell my brother David and our childhood friend Darin that this song brings back some very special memories of great times!
I wouldn't worry too much about it or them. The internet is full of people stating the obvious.
