This deck looks sick! i definitely feel that all gy decks need a gy hate resistant plan. I've been tinkering with a version of squirming emergence that runs morph (hauntwoods shrieker, vannifar) for the same reason lolol. unfortunately turn 3 valgavoth debatably bad in the meta rn.
Seems like folks clued in that when 'no one runs Twisted Fealty' (or other stealing cards) is the best time to start running them *if* the decks yours doesn't naturally do well against have big beaters. The surprise factor is real. Also it does make some sense for aggro given how much removal is flying around. If they're low life and they've nuked all your creatures grabbing one of theirs can finish the job.
Valgavoth is bigger, and is mono colored he can be cast more easily in a longer game and has an incredible ward, that, for some decks acts like hexproof. But this is only good against spot removal. His effect is sweet but if he dies you loose the card davantage that he provides. Whereas Atraxa might be more fragile, it stilk draws you loads of cards. Wich is, in this meta full of boardwipes, way better.
With all the sweepers he’s not atraxa at least gets you 3-5 cards to reload. I play both, valgavoth vs red decks is GG. I’m starting to link steel hellfire some to vs enchant decks and pixie
oh no i only have one harvester of misery... =( i also want to share something i tried because i remembered that izzet deck you made with the capricious dragon and i decided to try bringing back enchantments like one with the multiverse and ovika and zombify. since i've made it i usually win in bo1.
Cool.. I would not say this is "immune" to GY hate as zombify still targets but yeah Smugglers Surprice does not and it does not even give a window of opportunity to vacuum the cards it could return to hand at all.. I did came across an article about Anti GY hate cards.. And was kinda disappointed.. Not anything out there that would actually make a reanimator deck immune or even help much.. Sure there's cards that can insta return from GY -- sometimes to library rather than even hand or battlefield.. And then there's things that make your GY untargetable - but those also make your reanimation spells (spells that return things directly to the battlefield) not work as AFAIK they all target. I'd really like here to besome cards that do something similar to ward or phase out or slow blink for cards in your GY... (Say - whenever a spell or ability controlled by an opponent targets a card in your GY counter that spell or ability unless it's controller pays .. or .. Exile all/anynumber/X/? cards from your GY - return them to the GY at ... ) That kind of thing.. There's so much totally maindecable GY hate around (Scaveniing ooze - Lord skitter, Agathas soul Cauldron) in standard that even in Bo1 some kind of GY protection might be usefull a long as it's not it's only function (say just some decent 2 drop creature that "wards" your GY or has activated ability that helps protect the GY)...
This is probably the first time where smuggler's surprise is an actual surprise.
I made a hybrid deck like this a month ago. Some games you dominate and others you're either 1 turn away or draw bad. But I guess that's every deck

This was a fun deck to watch. Good games!

Ooooh, I was thrashed by this yesterday and was going to ask in chat if you've heard of a smuggler deck... apparently yes... I hate it 😅
How do you lot feel about this build?
Sultai Surprise is a great name too
So is Atraxa still just superior to Valgavoth then?

@@frenche2480 is it worth spending mythic wildcards on when she is rotated out in the fall?
Always was
When ist the Rotation?
To sue for bed bugs youd need to prove they are negligent, as they’d need to not tell and not be treating it.
I saw this deck on the league results and still don't understand why no Llanowar Elves in the main. This deck would love to move one turn faster.
hello ashlizzle i have a jund sacrifice deck similar to your old vein ripper scavengers talent deck from few months ago. Do you play viewer decks?
How they comment an hour ago it just came out?
a real mystery

Same on the harvesters. I was thinking of subbing a couple of massacre wurms as a possibility. Just not sure what to put in for the fourth.
