One of the things I love about Sloane is how he doesn’t try to act cool in his music videos. He’s just being his awkward weird genuine self which is cooler in my opinion.

why does this perfectly represent the relationship between Eddie Kasprak, his mom, and his wife when he gets older
for example:
"can you make memories if they're just make believe" could represent how all the diseases and medication that Sonia made him take were fake and purposeless and those diseases prevented him a lot of things like in the book where he wasn't permitted to participate in gym because of it
"I don't know if i can take you seriously these days" represents how he confronted Sonia about his fake medications and could also represent how in the book he couldn't take Myra seriously ever especially when she was crying and begging him to stay
"So suddenly everything's changed" explains how Eddie's perspective on Sonia and Myra change after he realized how naive he had been when he pretended that their behavior customary
"I'm on the outside looking in" represents how even he could recognize Sonia and Myra's similar behaviors when he was older
"I never said what I really meant" represents how he was scared at first to tell his mother how she was treating him and he was scared to tell Sonia how he didn't really ever have strong feelings for her and to compensate for his guilt of not feeling the same love she did, he bought her things.
"I wasn't made to be medicine for you" represents how Sonia used Eddie to make herself feel better and how Myra was okay with him buying her material objects to make her feel better because he felt too bad to express his feelings.
"you can't seem to make up your mind when i told you i didn't mind" Explains perfectly how in the book he was fine with doing things that she thought was way to dangerous like how he didn't mind gym while she was yelling at the gym teacher that he wasn't fit to participate
"you wont know if you've never tried" explains how Sonia doesn't know that he's to sick to do these things if she's never let him in the first place.
"maybe we could agree, but that's not up to me" explains how he doesn't have a say in all of the things Sonia doesn't allow him to do
"I don't know if I can take much more about this debate" Represents how he finally confronted Sonia in the movie.
" So suddenly nothing has changed" Explains exactly how he married someone so similar to his mother who treated him horribly which just adds to the evidence of the fact that he has mommy issues.
"I've been reading on the wrong page" explains how he instead of getting away from the selfish ways that his mother treated him, he repeated the the inflict by marrying someone so similar to his mom.
I recently graduated Army Basic Training and I’ve been looking forward to listening to Sloan for the longest time. So glad I can now. God bless this man’s soul. He makes me so happy.

Sloan's dancing, married with the beaming quality of his vocals and this track's sublime, funky piano chords, never fails to put a wide, wide smile on my face. Easily the best track on the whole album. And that "oh" at 3:06 - how charming!

This particular video (apart from colour scheme) seems to me to be inspired by Jonathan Bree's videos. His videos always feature mannequins with spandex masks, wigs and '60s-era costumes, it's his trademark.

One day I was going to commit suicide because I thought my life had no meaning. Out of nowhere on TV came a song by Dayglow (Can I call you tonight?) And at that moment I paid attention to it and wanted to know more about this artist who is now my favorite. that's how Dayglow prevented my suicide, whenever I listen to it I'm happy.
