Our biggest problem is that we have corrupt politicians who steal from the people, enriching themselves and their families and being above the law. Our system of justice is also corrupt and that has nothing to do with the United States. In some of our countries you can pay your way out of jail even if you murdered somebody or you can bribe a judge to let you be outside of jail until your court date, then you pay a Coyote and for $7 to $ 10K he will get you into the United States. We ourselves keep electing bad politicians and We ourselves keep believing their lies.

Instead of doing away with Social Security, why not allow immigrants in, have them pay taxes, have them pay into Social Security, it would also help the economy and provide them with a living wage. The majority of them are hard-working people that just want a better life. Sounds like a win-win-win to me.
They already do. They pay payroll taxes using an ITIN instead of a SSN. They contribute billions, BUT are not allowed to access those benefits. They cannot collect Social Security, they can only fund it.
When the moderator asked democrats to raise their hands if their healthcare plan would cover undocumented immigrants, during the 2020 debate, everyone of them raised their hand. (That's all you need to know.)

The public doesn't seem to realize that we have a population loss, each year, and if we don't replace the population there will be no one there to support Social Security, pay taxes and consume goods to keep the economy strong. This doesn't only affect people from our southern border, it also affects the immigrants from Asia who now appear to be the main source for our future physicians and nurses as well as scientists and IT specialists. Trump's wife entered the country on a visitors visa, which doesn't allow for employment, and then illegally worked as a model. If the Republicans really wanted to solve the border crisis they could have done it back when they controlled all three branches of government, but they didn't. They had another chance, recently, but didn't follow through because Trump didn't want them to. Biden is at least trying to solve some of the complex issues of our broken immigration system and I say this as no fan of the Democrats.
