Thanks, Hsin-Chuen. It is very useful to see the various shapes of pots, and to note how distinctive they can be.

The extended video content is great! I found the cut away views showing the profile very helpful. It gives me an 'eye' into what you are feeling as you throw and to actually see what amount of clay you are trimming away. Thanks so much for your time and generosity in sharing what you do, much appreciated! Sharon

thank you so much for posting these videos. one thing i've found challenging about throwing off the hump is getting a consistent size of clay in my hands before opening -- some bowls turn out significantly different sized than others. i've tried to look at my hands and make sure they are in the same position each time, and that seems to help a little bit. do you have any recommendations to help making the same size bowl or cup each time?

@EmRosERD I used a cotton string about 1/16" thick. Please watch my video post: ( 21. Throwing a Noodle Bowl & Cut off the Hump with Hsin-Chuen Lin ) to get more idea.

Yes, I've been watching your videos almost all morning- and you are really really good.. Probably the best! My question is can you make bowls; like little finger bowls with floral shape rims and handles?? Can you make them with spouts like a gravy bowl for pouring gravy and in a black finish.. if so, I'd like to find out a price for possible purchase.. Thanks so much; it's amazing watching you work. Just amazing.
P.S. On that rim, I mean the shape in a curl; sort of like a flower shape; minor; but not round; kind of ruffled. Thanks again.

Fantastic! What type of thread do you use to cut off the bowls from the hump? Regular sewing thread or thicker than than?

Old CD's are also great to use for a rib.
