Love
Custard ✨
Custard for us too
Still prefer red beans
Sweet potato paste
People like this make me proud to be part of the world of gastronomy. I hope to one day eat at his shop.
Become his successor, you are our only hope.
I remember taking a photo of this store with the owner after paolo did a video on him. Glad he has blown up. Love the appreciation for the importance he puts in the tradition of his craft!
That man doesnt look a day past 50! Looks really good.
Asians don't raisin.
Damn that was the most shocking part about the whole thing.
Ikr. Thats just insane
Yeah..... not even past 50
Loks like 45
Whwn he say 70
Im shock
merqury5 Yeah Japanese people always look younger than they are lol
55years old Mr.Kiichiro: "I'll start a Taiyaki shop."
Mad respect.
like he realized "finally I found something that I actually want to do"
if you're fit and financially stable, your elder years are the perfect time to live your risky dreams
I was there recently this past November! It was so good that we went twice. Both Mr. Yoshino and his wife and super lovely and kind. The taiyaki is the best, the right amount of crispy to chewy and the red bean not too smooth, not too chunky and just the right amount of sweetness.
Can we appreciate Yoshino-san's shirt saying "Awesome Day"? There's something oddly wholesome about that.
Everything in Japan is art. Even the dessert. It was the best vacation I had last year with great food and great vids!
The joy that man gains from people enjoying his craft has kept him young.
Joy = Long Life
Me: I'm completely emotionally stable
Me. 3:53 minutes later: *crying over the fact this man I have never met will have to eventually close his taiyaki shop*
Ditto! Broke my heart at the thought!
Dam now I'm sad cause of you, god dam you..
I can feel how much he loves his food and his career. And I was so surprised when I heard he’s in his 70s. 😨 He looks much younger.
Genes
He's over 70?? I'm shocked! I didn't think he was past 50 🌼
wow! never even knew they could be made individually. this is amazing
MY HEART BROKE WHEN HE MENTIONED HIS SON NOT HELPING ANYMORE. OMG. Adopt me!! I'd be honored to run such a beautiful little shop!!! I adore taiyaki and already want to make and sell them in my own store here in the states..being an apprentice to such a place would be perfect. . . 😭💖
I legit was there not to long ago and bought three. They are insane.
What do you mean insane
@@ammarwazir9398 insanely delicious.
@@redfaldas7524 Correct!
Imagine being so good at cooking that you can attract foreigners with a dish of 3 ingredients
Japanese cuisine is famously known for their minimal ingredients, but they sure do leave behind a huge impact.
Filling is so generous! Bless this man !
To his son, please come back and help him make taiyaki. I am concerned about his conditions. Hand baking is hard, I can tell you much. Traditionally baked pastries are delicious. Im sad if one day the tradition dies along with the generation
Mr Yoshino, Much respect to you for keeping this beautiful art of handmade taiyaki going. I love that you are working your dream ! I am your age and I draw much inspiration from you to try to make this. I wish you and your lovely wife the best, and I hope your will keep making many people young and old happy to eat your delicious taiyaki for more years to come.
Food that's made with love will always be the best.
I'LL BE YOUR SUCCESSOR YOSHINO SAN! TEACH ME THE WAYS!
This man is a true craftsman.
If someone sells it on my country, it would be 99% dough and 1% red bean paste inside.
I’m my country you lucky I’f you get any paste.
@@wesleyvanniekerk6911 Sounds like your describing taco bell in america
One day I will definitely try this pastry Takiyaki.
when i was little, i used to eat taiyaki every week. in the U.S there's barely any. i haven't eaten them in 16 years. i miss eating crispy and warm taiyaki on cold autumn day
So glad they sell these a few block from where I live.
homeboy doesnt look 70, all that takiyaki made him young..
yeah all that takoyaki sure are healthy, why the title of this video is wrong? Man you guys need to study your own content smh.
takoyako is octopus balls
Stonks
@@_zet_zet_ Taiyaki is the fish-shaped snack with the filling (Could be like the one in the video with red bean paste or even nutella), Takoyaki is the ball-shaped snack with minced octopus in it.
I love taiyaki with red bean paste. I tried it for the first time at a Japanese festival in a Japanese garden (It was in Texas btw). It was very good 😋
I think they're happy couple, they look young despite their real age. Btw, that kind of taiyaki simply delicious, to die for!
Here’s the store location Taiyaki Sharaku

thank you ! adding it to my list.
I had taiyaki for the first time a few weeks ago. It was everything my weeb heart wanted
Man if this guy wants a successor sign me up
He said he's 70 years old....
How!? Dude still looks good. I guess it's what you look like when you're happy and you're doing something you love 💕
As kid growing up in japan we used to buy those all the time.. Yummy
For being 70 years old , he looks amazing
I don't see a benefit to the individual molds outside of having minimal customers. Taiyaki was so wonderful, that I almost cried. It relaxed me too much to go crazy.
The taiyaki filled with chocolate custard that i can order online is really really good
The people who didn't like the vid thought they were going to get a free one! ;)
What a vibe man !
Now way he's 70! Kudos to that passion!
have yall ever craved for food you’ve never had? these things are whats doing it for me
I love how everyone’s being nice in the comments
Now I know why Gran Torino loves these so much
I have been here and can vouch it is very delicious!
So wholesome
I would love to be his successor
danis wara go ahead follow your dreams
Me toooo!
The filling is so rich and full 🤤
One of my fave japanese delicacy. Hoping to eat one again soooon. ❤️❤️
Aaaaaaa.. I hope I can make my trip to Japan before he retires. I want my first taiyaki in Japan to be made by him.
Same here. I want to go this year.
I feel the same!
dang if im on japan right now im gladly want to learn and hopefully become his apprentice.
Just had his Taiyaki last week whilst in Asakusa! Really flippin' good. But to be honest, all of the Taiyaki spots in Asakusa were really flippin' good. You can't stay in business if you serve a bad product in that area. Too much competition.
I finnished watching the Anime Kanon 2006 (I loved it) about a week ago so this video is gonna be fun.
i love taiyaki hehe 😉😌
Someday I will be able to visit Japan...
I want too.
He's a good guy. It kind of saddens me that due to age he might not be able to continue what he loves.
Respect!
Man, what I would do to try one of these things. I’m actually heading up to New York for the first time around Asian New Years, so hopefully I’ll get to try it once I make it up there.
Go to Mitsuwa Market just across the bridge in Edgewater, NJ. They sell them out of a stall in the food court.
Henric von Winklebottom thanks man, I really appreciate it. I’m excited because there’s such diversity of food in New York. I’m coming from New Orleans, so I’m hoping to broaden my palette to things I’ve never had the chance to try such as Indian or legit Japanese cuisine.
@@MsMrapplepie -don't forget the trip to Katz's for pastrami on rye, that's an experience you'll not forget
wholesome affff
The ingredients are very basic that the taste should be a testament to the true flavor of the beans and the skill of the man.
This is so cute i love it.
Kawaki’s favorite
This is mouthwatering! Great job, mr Yoshino [and ofc good job Tofu Media ;) ]
Japan always wonders me. Love from TELANGANA India
Over 70 years old?? Man's got them good genes.
Where's the exact location of this shop?
There’s a master just to make this?!
it be great to get references to the prices so we can see how much it is in dollars or euros as well
I heard moving the "," over and you'll get a rough idea. Like 1,000 yen is 10.00 usd 10,000 is 100. Otherwise Google has a built in currency converter. Just type in "yen to usd" !
I used to enjoy cartoons my niece and nephew watched, a Japanese cartoon with the star being a red bean cake. The memory of the name, and the song dance around my subconscience, just out of reach.
Wonder what happened to him in the pandemic. I wanna visit this shop!
Just flour and baking soda.....this man is a genius that must make them so crispy
Where is his Shop's Location? Which city?
70!!! I thought he was 40-50. Was suprised at that bit.
0:55 that's $350 to $500
That dude is 70+? He looks 45
Pichkalu Pappita still, he looks younger than his age
Me: 4am I should go to sleep.
RUclips: How about you watch this old man making and baking some Taiyaki?
Me: Aight then
Why we have goldfish and not this I'll never understand
What?
Taiyaki is like your ordinary bread or pastry with fillings.
But the shape is in fish shape. It's just that
Does anybody know what kind of camera is used to shoot this or similar quality content ?
God Bless 🙏
Damn I really want one of those molds...
THE JAPANESE EXPLANATION: I’m a 100th generation Taiyaki specialist and I like to over explain everything to make a simple recipe seem very complex in order to fool onlookers. In reality anyone watching this video can make what I’m making but to deter you from doing so I want to make you feel inferior to me, get you lost in translation and over explainations and use charcoal that is totally unnecessary for this process but I do it to make my goodies seem dope AF. Thanks for watching.
Where I can find Taiyaki mold makers?
amazon
I hope he finds a successor :')
Tasty food
I can see how making other Japanese food takes a lot of skills. I don't understand the complexity of putting batter in a mold and heating it up. People do it all the time when they make waffles.
Red bean may sounds disgusting for a dessert but it’s delicious
can't believe he's 70
I’ll make my own with some Nutella 👍👍
*_I want it._*
Can Taiyaki come with a chocolate filling? I have never had one before and just heard about them.
this guy is OVER 70?!?!??!?
When he said "Nothing else"i kinda didn't believe him😛
For real. Just flour, starch, salt and red beans? Sounds pretty damn bland, to me. I think he didn't want to tell anyone else his personal recipe.
@@palehorse1511 the paste is a sweetened paste
Mold is 50000 JPY or around 450 USD. WOW
Ikr? I mean sure, it's custom made, but why is a slight difference in imprint so important as to be worth sinking a 10x upcharge from what you would normally pay? Especially if you're getting multiple of them.
Jeezz!! 70?! I thought he is 50 ish
All I can think about is Grand Torino when I watch this..why am I such a weeeeebbb 😣😣😂
Like eater. I'm a person like eating.
I hope i can take apprenticeship from him but its been a year now ..
Those cooking molds are about 350 usd
Doing things the old way isn't cheap.
Looks like bahulu or baulu from malaysia..but without filling.
