  • This is a continuation of the Transit Board meeting of Feb. 28, 1998. The discussion was about eliminating service on Green Hills Dr and operating more service to the new extension to Sussex Apts. and also the Research Park. The proposal would require residents to walk along Oakwood Dr. The Transit Board decided to wait until the bike path was built on the south side of Oakwood to make pedestrian movements safer to get to the nearest bus stop.
Transit Board members were Warren Madden, ISU vice-president of Finance; Judie Hoffman, City Council member; Steve Schainker, City Manager; Barb Gwiasda, resident; Carrisa Wall and Jillene Hamill-Wilson, ISU students.
The original Brown route looped around campus and then operated to the Research Park. It was eventually combined with the Gray route to provide service between the Mall, via Somerset, to the Research Park.
The tape quality is very poor and most of the discussion by the transit board members is unintelligible. The original video was made by Channel 12, the City cable channel.
