So glad i found this little series of yours where youre not just showing the trick with a horse that already knows what to do.
Ive been trying Sam vanFleet’s method, she s also a youtuber so you may know her. Her method was to also tap on the belly, get him to lower his head, and bring his hind legs under. But my horse just wouldn’t bring them under.
So definitely gonna try this! My horse really loves rolling especially when he s been riddin or wet! Lets hope for the best hahaha patience is everything

joanysrg van oostveen thank you! Sam is a friend of mine! She has a great method too, it’s pretty similar to what I do. The biggest difference I think is that I am not so much focused on telling the horse what to do with its body as I am rewarding the thought process that gets him there. Both are great methods, just a bit different approaches that seem to work well for different horses. You might want to try both and see what works best for your horse or blend them together into your own method :)

@@melissagulen3235 It took her only a week but her horse liked to lay down a lot so it was easy for her.

I love these videos! Thank you so much. My horse has mastered the "lay down" using your method & I recommend it to anyone who asks! I'm just wondering what the next step is to stop the roll. Just turn the head in? Is there anything else? How long would you hold the lay down the first time you do it? A video on the next steps would be awesome if you have time! Thanks so much!

jThanks for the video. I am trying this with my horse for the first time today.. So far he urinated (I guess that is relaxing....) and then when I came back to it again a little later- he had a bm. LOL. I still consider this progress. Will keep trying.
