Thanks for the short version of recent Ukrainian history. Most of this did not register in the UK media. We were too caught up with the Brexit thing. It does help to get the information from someone from the country. Great news about the airbase in Crimea. So much smoke. Those Russians have not learnt to not smoke near munitions.
And when the RAF supplied NLAWS mid January 2022 ("in case they were needed") they had to avoid German airspace. Amazing discussion of the Maidan and the background of Yanukovych! Thank you for taking the time. I learned about a lot of that by watching Zelenskyy‘s TV show “servant of the people”. In the English translation one of the funniest parts was when they went into that gigantic home that Yanukovych used to have, there was a talking parrot and Zelensky’s guide through the house (Stepan Kazanin, who is absolutely brilliant!) said to the parrot “Yanukovych”, and the parrot replied “You swallow!” Zelensky’s laugh was priceless. 😆

Not a single Ukranian soldier was born in the Donbass. All of the soldiers born in the Donbass fight for the Russian side. Who's invading who? The Donbass is a territory that has been historically Russian and its inhabited by Russian speaking people. Thanks for the short version of recent Ukrainian history. Most of this did not register in the UK media. We were too caught up with the Brexit thing. It does help to get the information from someone from the country.
Great news about the airbase in Crimea. So much smoke. Those Russians have not learnt to not smoke near munitions.

And when the RAF supplied NLAWS mid January 2022 ("in case they were needed") they had to avoid German airspace. Shouldn't have mattered. Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum that explicitly states they must recognize, protect, and defend Ukraine's borders and sovereignty. It also states that it will remain out of Ukraine internal political affairs. It doesn't say, only if Russia likes Ukraine's border. It doesn't say, only if Russia likes Ukraine's politics. Russia took full advantage of Ukraine political situation in 2014, after creating the chaos themselves, to completely backstab their closest neighbor - a people Putin claims are so intertwined with Russia as to be the same people. Imagine if he's willing to that to people he thinks are basically Russian, in his mind, what is he willing to do to anyone else he has signed agreements with that aren't "Russian". The Chinese, Indians, Turks, and Africans who are willing to work on agreements with him should consider the value of the ink those agreements are signed with. Look back at how he's treated Ukraine-Russia agreements of the past for your answer.

Yea remember that as well, was about the time when there were several "colour-revolutions". Georgia had one also I believe around the same time (which Russia tried to redo in the 2008 war). Amazing discussion of the Maidan and the background of Yanukovych! Thank you for taking the time. I learned about a lot of that by watching Zelenskyy‘s TV show “servant of the people”. In the English translation one of the funniest parts was when they went into that gigantic home that Yanukovych used to have, there was a talking parrot and Zelensky’s guide through the house (Stepan Kazanin, who is absolutely brilliant!) said to the parrot “Yanukovych”, and the parrot replied “You swallow!” Zelensky’s laugh was priceless. 😆
There's actually more to it. The "apartment" Operator Starsky mentions at 4:07 is the Mezhyhirya Residence, with that tiny wooden "hut" being the Honka club house. If you google it, some production crew was allowed to film there after it returned to state ownership in 2014.
And guess where it appears ? That's right, Mezhyhirya is where Vassily Petrovych Golborodko is preparing for the inauguration in season 1, episode 4.
Also, the parrot, at least according to the English subtitles on the Servant of the People RUclips channel, says "No! You're the idiot!" when the speechwriter says "Yanukovych".

The Donbass is a territory that has been historically Russian and its inhabited by Russian speaking people. You'll not find a single writer or poet born in that region that wrote in Ukranian and spoke of the Ukraine as his/her motherland.
