  • Let’s make a small trip back to the 2000’s when the russian hybrid informational warfare was already making first steps towards the current situation here in Ukraine. Meet Natalia Vitrenko, chief of the Ukrainian russia-backed political party. As it usually happens to supporters of the “russian world”, they claim to be anti-fascists but always prove the opposite.

I remember my school trip to Communist Eastern Germany (Russian satelite state GDR). Arrived in East Berlin on april 30th we were asked (forced) to carry our national flag and a banner with "We love the peace loving people of the GDR". On may 1st, I and some other students left the hotel very early before they could catch us. After enjoying the sunny day and some beers, we went back and were welcomed by the Stasi (secret police). We had to leave East Berlin for the trip home. We never could enter the GDR again, but this was a blessing. My lesson learned: If you deal with Russians and their friends, turn around and walk away as fast as you can.

Operator Starsky, after seeing the commercial about the black priest, I remembered a story about Saint Nicholas. One day, Saint Nicholas saw a boy from Ethiopia being put up for auction at a slave market. He bought him and immediately set him free. Then, he asked the boy where his parents were so he could try to free them too. The boy said that his parents were killed in the raid that captured him. Then Saint Nicholas decided to adopt him and named him Peter. When the boy grew up, he became a priest himself. This is supposedly the origin story of the Black Peter character who accompanies Saint Nicholas in many countries.
Let's also not forget that Saint Augustine was himself African too.

@@tubthump I am aware of a few of the "anti-Russian" language laws, however they aren't as negative as they might seem on the surface. The 2017 law requiring Ukrainian language after 5th grade education, would be similar to how English is generally the primary language in public schools, despite having a large Spanish speaking population. In the same bill, Ukrainian required for public sector workers would be like English required in US. Yes we have x-lingual speakers, but they're going to need to know English to read/prepare the government documents. Are you telling me that there are Russian territories in which Russian is NOT required to work in the government?
I will admit, some parts are curious, such as the 60% Ukrainian requirement for TV/Radio broadcasts. I would imagine this is limited to ONLY national-local broadcasts, and media broadcast geographically from Russia would not be affected. However I am not currently knowledgeable about the pre-war TV/Radio status in Ukraine, number of stations, media provider company options. Perhaps Starsky would know more regarding that, though I imagine there are plenty more important issues on his mind than cable companies.
Regardless, this hardly seems a justifiable offence for a ground invasion.

@@kaijuriot3215 It's also worth noting that for over 2 decades, there was a relatively stable compromise: Ukrainian was the sole *official* language, but extensive *de facto* use of Russian (even in government in the Eastern part of the country) was tolerated, provided that that *symbolic* recognition of Ukrainian preeminence was maintained. Then, in 2012, pro-Russian elements pushed through a "regional languages" bill that made Russian *official* in parts of the country, and triggered the present backlash.

Extremely educational & well done AS USUAL "Operator" Starsky! This video about the real Nazis of Ukraine so brightly illuminates & contextualizes a conversation I had around 2014-2015 with a married couple that I once was friends with. They were both from the same small town somewhere in Luhansk, & they were ethnic Russians born there but who left the country for Canada (where I live & met them). They were very nervous about a free Ukraine, & wished that the Soviet Union still existed! This from 2 people who had already emigrated to Canada?🤔
When I asked why, the reasons I was given were as follows:
    1) We were born in a Russian country as Russians, & our town was virtually all Russian people. SO WE AREN'T AT ALL FLUENT IN THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE!🤔🤔🤔
All our family & childhood friends still live there. We never had to give the idea of another "nationality" any thought.
    2) Because we are Russians from Luhansk, we feel like Kyiv is a million miles away & the post-Maidan government doesn't care about us & is ignoring us. Also, as a "result" of the creation of the independent State of Ukraine, economic activity in our town & region was much lower than it had been during Soviet times.
Somehow otherwise seemingly intelligent people were believing that this happened not because of the obvious reason, the economic collapse of The Soviet Union, but as a direct result of the democratic government in Kyiv DELIBERATELY ignoring them in outright contempt simply "because" it's a heavily ethnic Russian region of the country!😭😭😭
THEREFORE, if Donetsk & Luhansk "returned" to Russia, magically 🌈🦄🏖️ the local economy would return to its pre-Indepence level of wonderfulness...or even better still!🙄
Because Russia cares so much for "ITS OWN" people!🙋🙆💆🛀💁😆😆😆🙄😛
    3) The Ukrainian government is very nationalist, & all they talk about is how to enshrine the dominance of Ukranian language & culture; there is no consideration for the Ukrainian Russians!😵🤔🙄 WE HEAR TALK FROM KYIV THAT WE SHOULD BE MADE TO FEEL SO UNWANTED THAT WE WILL WANT TO MOVE TO RUSSIA. And that if we don't, ALL MANNER OF ESCALATING FORCE, UP TO & INCLUDING ACTS OF VANDALISM & PHYSICAL VIOLENCE, are to be inflicted upon us!😨😱😰🙄🙄🙄🙄
Yet when I confronted them about whether any ACTUAL anti-Russian policies had been created & enforced upon their townsfolk, they admitted that in actuality no such policies had yet been enforced & no acts of nationalist violence had been perpetrated on anyone that they knew of!But all the "talk" out of Kyiv strongly indicates that it wasn't a matter of "if", but "when"!!!🙄🙄🙄😵
Pointing out that the new goverments were of a TRUE democratic nature, & therefore are governed by Rule of Law, & therefore wouldn't condone such violence against its own citizens (nor leave such acts unpunished!), this couple still continued to insist that AS WESTERNERS WE WERE BEING BRAINWASHED BY "WESTERN PROPAGANDA" (!!!😆😆😆🙄) & therefore didn't know "the truth", nor actual "actions on the ground".🤔🙄
What I now understand about their cockeyed beliefs thanks to this video is that if they don't understand Ukrainian, the fear-mongering hysterical pro-Russian 🐂💩 media sources of the Kremlin's lies was their ONLY source of news!!! And living in a town with only fellow Russian speakers to socialize with, their warped views would only be further amplified by the ethnic "echo chamber" they lived in!🙉🙈😬😛
Amazing how dumb-ass Orcs, living in Canada for the better part of 5 years, STILL are immune to critical thinking & remained UTTERLY brainwashed!🙄🙄🙄
But OK, they did get alot of help from EVIL sellouts all like this politician to make them so usefully stupid to the Kremlin....

      From Wickipedia, Rashism:
Timothy D. Snyder argued in an essay that a "time traveler from the 1930s" would "have no difficulty" identifying the Russian regime in 2022 as fascist, writing:
"The symbol Z, the rallies, the propaganda, the war as a cleansing act of violence and the death pits around Ukrainian towns make it all very plain. The war against Ukraine is not only a return to the traditional fascist battleground, but also a return to traditional fascist language and practice. Other people are there to be colonized. Russia is innocent because of its ancient past. The existence of Ukraine is an international conspiracy. War is the answer."[10]

@@grundgesetzart.1463 Having spent time looking this up, I agree with you about the barbarity of what happened historically. What I haven't found is the degree of barbarity happening now by current Ukrainians. In contrast, I found that Russia has 250 years of continuous scorched earth policies destroying other peoples lives in a good 20+ countries. And the current barbarity of leveling towns and private houses without regard to human life. Russia leaves their wounded behind, and stacks thousands if the bodies of its own soldiers like worms in a can, and won't tell parents what happened to their dead children. So, I think the depravity of now is by Russia.

He’s also made laughable and incoherent statements on what capitalism and socialism are (socialism to him essentially being whenever the government does anything). One of his biggest whoppers was trying to argue that monopolies aren’t capitalistic and can only be created by the state, and the example he used for this was pointing to how Cornelius Vanderbilt defeated a state steamboat monopoly. Oddly enough he failed to mention that Vanderbilt went on to become one of the most famous monopolists of his era…
