It reminds me of the commodification of the painting “I cannot be a bride anymore” where art using strong, disturbing imagery to convey complex and nuanced emotions get written off and watered down because people do not look deeper into why that imagery was used. Either way, i love your work! I have so much respect for art like this, the whole point of art is to capture feelings that cannot be understood entirely by words alone. You are so skilled and amazing
Fantastic! i though this was created entirely in a computer with animation software and all, but now i see this and really i can imagine all the hard work of doing this, manually, every single frame, just amazing and inspiring.
The original video is a symbol of what rape/molestation does to a child. It starts with two innocent, lovely little girls playing together. The first time the girl is molested, she doesn't understand, and since the person doing it seems to be gentle at first, she may even think it's fun. As it progresses, the girls begin to understand it's wrong and try to avoid this person. However, this person becomes more aggressive with his/her molestation as well, eventually leading to full blown rape. At this point, the girls are terrified. He/She, at some point, brings the other girl in and molests her as well. When the world blackens, this is symbolic of their fear/corruption/loss of innocence. When the original victim's friend is 'killed', I don't think she is dead, but actually either sent away or runs away to escape. The final 'death' of the little girl isn't death at all, but more like her giving up and accepting her fate, or being broken to the point where she no longer cares what happens to her.
The original video is meant to be interpreted. It does really HAVE a definite meaning. Let me explain with my own interpretation. The video is about child abuse. It starts off as small things, slaps on the wrist, and nobody thinks otherwise about it. The kid that got the punishment is a little scared about it (because let's admit it, what kid likes being hurt by their mom or dad?) The next time the kid gets into trouble she avoids the discipline, but that only makes her parents more angry, leading to harsher beatings, eventually getting severe, this abuse can range from physical beatings to rape to everything in between. Eventually the kids try to get help, angering the "parents" even further, to the point of murder. Do you see my point? It can be taken a bunch of different ways. Stating your interpretation as fact is just silly.

I came here curious on how you did the creepy black goo part. Wow, it is so painful to see such beutiful pictures be painted over like that! If you messed up I imagine it would be so difficult to redo all of this. I admire the risks you took with this project.

That´s a bunch of work but the video went good. I appreciate this kind of horror. I felt instantly unwell when the video showed the first dark leak. Most of the people come here because they knew you have the creepy stuff and will be surprised that it´s high peak horror.

Nana definitely has her own style going and POKO is very unique...There are plenty of horrifying animations out there and a good number start off deceptively cute, but I don't think there's much out there that's just like this. I could suggest stuff but I can't think of anything with a super Japanese aesthetic...
