It wouldn't surprise me if we see some serious improvements made to data handling in job centres as a result of these videos. Maybe eventually even private consultation rooms, which is probably how it should be done anyway. The job centre should be treated a little more like a GP's surgery and a little less like an opticians. People's personal and financial circumstances should probably be treated with more discretion and respect.

Funny how these staff think you not following their orders is such a big deal it warrants police but they break laws and don’t see a issue. Hopefully these audits is a 2 finger salute to the job centre that let the manager beat you in a dark alley and keep his job
might like to point out to them that whilst they are ordering you off premises for using your phone as a camera there are signs on the walls inviting the public to use their phones as cameras to scan the codes on signs in the building

The level of understanding in these places is spectacularly sad - a building full of QR codes and yet they claim cameras and filming are not allowed. Do they understand how a QR code works??????????

It wouldn't surprise me if we see some serious improvements made to data handling in job centres as a result of these videos. Maybe eventually even private consultation rooms, which is probably how it should be done anyway. The job centre should be treated a little more like a GP's surgery and a little less like an opticians. People's personal and financial circumstances should probably be treated with more discretion and respect.

Well Power, you've uncovered a treasure trove of very valid content. These Job Centres are the gift that keeps on giving, both with the staff and the security.You might have done better on this one, in my opinion, if you had insisted upon reminding the manager of the Job Centre of their procedure for reporting Data Breaches rather than explaining all to a security robot and hoping/ expecting that he had the intelligence to pass it on. Certainly I, and perhaps others in your audience, would appreciate a short video where you reveal any specific information you are able to glean from the I.O.C regarding the Data Breaches at any of the Job Centres you visit. Good work again. Knowledgeable, unflustered, direct and polite....well done.

The only reason I can think of for their idea that you shouldn't film, is that it might embarrass someone who is searching for a job. Or, of course, they don't want anyone seeing how they actually treat jobseekers...

Why are security (and the staff for that matter) such fools, they just make up the rules and then refuse to listen when someone tries to correct them. How do they get on in all other areas of life like that. The fact that they are more concerned about a camera than the potential for their clients to be victims of identity theft speaks volumes.

You wouldn't believe it but here in Australia we are banned from filming or taking photographs in any Centrelink which is kind of like your job centres is he here in Australia we don't have a Bill of Rights I remember the politicians telling us that these rights could actually take away our freedoms rather than protect them and of course they completely correct a Bill of Rights for the citizenry would definitely infringe on the ability of politicians to at against the people.
@Grey Matter I tried to take some photos in my local Centrelink in Adelaide and security guard said that I couldn't but I told him it's a public place and then the head honcho came out and told me that it was illegal and that they were going to call the police and it turns out there is a law against taking photographs in Centrelink
