      its too hidden cause there isnt a payable dlc unlock to get it as soon as you start the game! you actually have to "gasp" earn it the "hard" way

    Took me ages to unlock the rest of MGS V Ground Zeros. Turns out you have to back out of the game tab over the "PlayStation Store" tab, then find the entry called "MGS V The Phantom Pain". It will prompt you to enter a password. Took me a while but I finally found the code on the back of my credit card. Clever Kojima, clever.

    • @Megamean09
      @Megamean09 8 лет назад +2

      They do have a legitimate point here. OOT's Master Quest was never hidden knowledge. It made no sense to make it as such, especially given the increased difficulty. It's the same problem Link Between Worlds had: you shouldn't have to beat the entire game before you're allowed to have a challenge.

    • @Megamean09
      @Megamean09 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Ugh, they utterly ruined that remake. Why on earth did they decide to give EVERY BOSS a new mandatory eye weak point? "People think our games have too many eye weak point bosses? We'll show them too many eye weak point bosses!" It ruins the Goht fight because you can't do it solely in Goron form anymore, and the second phase of that Gyorg fight is the worst thing in any Zelda game.

    • @Robbie_Haruna
      @Robbie_Haruna 8 лет назад

      He did have a point with a couple of them. Like how you have to play a
      bunch of tedious and repetitive minigames to unlock most of the stages
      and music in the Xbox Crazy Taxi.
      But some of it was just bitching. Like how you need to do something special to unlock the throwback mission in MGS5. And the Number 1 was just stupid as hell. "Oh you have to beat the game once!" It's not even like OOT's a hard game either.

    • @Megamean09
      @Megamean09 8 лет назад

      ***** Number one is a pretty valid point. The existence of the Master Quest was already common knowledge, there weren't many people who would've gone "ooh, what's that? It sounds cool!" Given how many people have played the original version umpteen times and how many fewer people have played Master Quest, it was just plain stupid to make the harder version of the game unlockable, it should've been playable from the start, with that serving as one of the main selling points.

    • @Robbie_Haruna
      @Robbie_Haruna 8 лет назад +1

      Megamean09
      It's not like OOT is a super long game though. Chances are, people that have already played OOT a billion times can do it pretty quickly regardless. It's a minor inconvenience really.
      Of course, then there's the ground of playing the game again to see what changed and what improvements were made, (this is kind of a moot point now I suppose since they didn't really change much beyond a graphical update and some bug fixes, but you might not have known that they didn't make a bunch of improvements to it like they did with MM3D when OOT3D first came out.)

    • @coolbeans17
      @coolbeans17 8 лет назад

      Well shit dude, get good! You bought the game. Like that's fair-ish when talking about hard as fuck games, but that defeats the purpose of making things unlockable as reward. I'd rather not allow that to be a practice that continues because what would be the point of offering a reward for beating a game? I've been saying this since Battlefield came out with buyable unlockables and WoW came out with instant level 90 DLC.

  • @TheRedGoon
    @TheRedGoon 8 лет назад +60

    Excuse me? How the heck is unlocking Master Quest by BEATING the game "way too hidden"?
    Are you serious? You just beat the game. Big deal. It's a reward for players who are willing to simply BEAT the game.
    They don't have to collect every single trinket or do every single side-quest. The fact that is number one is a load of piss, dude. C'mon.
    Also, Unlocking Parappa Mode in Um Jammer Lammy isn't difficult either. You just have to beat the damn game, and that shouldn't take you anymore than an hour or two. Less if you know what you're doing.
    I would know, I actually beat that game. It wasn't that bad. It wasn't a chore.

    • @meko98743
      @meko98743 8 лет назад

      +Hoodlum I think it's more that it's something which should have been unlockable on every Zelda on GC, or straight up available from the start. At least the MGS:GZ and Ninja Gaiden actually offered more new content, noot just harder difficulty. Nintendo had 2 goes at getting it right and they messed it up twice.
      Also not sure the list is in any sort of order.

    • @enchantobey1862
      @enchantobey1862 8 лет назад +2

      oh nooo, you have to actually play the game to get this extra quest, crazy right? I remember back in the days where you had to pick up obscure items in hidden, as in literally not able to be seen, through out an entire game, beat hidden bosses, and then fight through this absolutely BRUTAL section of the game where playing on normal mode is too difficult for the majority of who play said game, just to get the GOOD ending, aka, the one where everyone doesn't DIE, why the hell isn't Cave Story on this list?

    • @enchantobey1862
      @enchantobey1862 8 лет назад

      +Benny Choate spoilers for those who don't know what I'm talking about, and actually intend on playing the game, you need to find a certain item, in a wall by looking at your map, showing that you can go through this wall, in a small checkpoint room, move along through the game, before a boss fight, go into the room, pass your friend, who if you talk to, the fight begins, and the can only be obtained before the fight, then carry your almost dead friend after the fight, carry her to a room, which is only able to be gotten to by a timed jump, then lay her on the bed, go to the bookshelf, learn a thing, to the thing on your friend, pick her up afain, continue the game, find her again, travel across the map, get a thing for her, find that the thing is a fake, travel back, fight an extra boss, and THEN you actually have the real ending, and now the final stretch towards the final boss is more difficult, and after the final boss (bosses actually, it's like 3 in a row, no health pickups anywhere) then a door at the end is open, allowing a save point for you, but no health still, then you face that brutal area I was talking about, a mini boss, and then the real boss, with 3 stages, each with increasing difficulty, from simple to unpredictable and lethal

    • @TheRedGoon
      @TheRedGoon 8 лет назад

      Benny Choate Exactly. Like I don't think Ocarina of Time should have been on this list at all.
      This is about unlocking stuff by going well out of your way to do stuff you would never have known to do!
      Um Jammer Lammy and Ocarina of time just give you stuff for beating the game. Nothing hidden about them. Or hard.

    • @TheRedGoon
      @TheRedGoon 8 лет назад +1

      Onua This list is about games with unlockables that are very hidden that you wouldn't know to go for the first time you play through the game.
      Regardless of what it is you get for beating the main campaign. You still just have to beat the blasted game to get it.
      If the game made you jump through hoops and do things you otherwise would never have thought to do, then I could understand. But that isn't the case here.

      @TheFloodFourm 8 лет назад

      Difficulty is part of the experience though. If a game is too easy you don't get any of the fear or tension. For the people who have been playing Zelda games for years im sure they swept through every boss and every monster, in fact i bet some of them found it so easy it was boring. It makes sense to leave out the masters quest in the original the technology was new no one was good at it. In 2011 Masters quest might as well have been a Hard difficulty with extra effort put in why make people play through a game they're already "masters" at? It's redundant.

      I've played games that were boringly easy, to the point where I didn't even want to play anymore. The Tomb Raider reboot comes to mind for this.
      Difficulty is a part of "the whole experience." If the game wants to play itself, I see no reason for me to continue caring.

    • @Sparkbomber
      @Sparkbomber 8 лет назад +1

      Au contraire Crazy Jay , an easy game can still have other redeeming features. Exploration, hidden content, beautiful music, good story-telling, neat choreography and so on.
      Let me share a few examples:
      Aside from the boss battles, Undertale is relatively easy. But it does not need hard battles in order to provide one of the most amazing experiences you could hope to get. And yes, if you want to, you can get dunked on in the Genocide route by 'the easiest enemy in the game'-not.
      Going back a ways further, in the SNES era, there was Brainlord. Okay, by today's standards not the best rpg and it was outclassed by its competitors mostly. But in terms of npc-usage (going into dungeons, reacting to events, etc.) it actually helped to set the bar for later games such as Alundra, etc..
      I've not played the reboot of Tombraider (no desire to either tbh), but if its anything like the other parts in the series before it then yes, difficulty would be its main selling point. The hidden content and such has always had a slightly flat quality in the series imo. -.-;;

Crazy Taxi had made it a chore but not necessary difficult. All I heard from this guy was "whine whine whine; I'm lazy to do any effort in the game". Now if it were a tedious process to unlock artwork then it can be put up as a possibility . But this isn't even about opinions when factually these aren't hard to do unless your too lazy to do so. Getting the invincible monster truck in Excite Truck, the upside down castle in Symphony of the Night, the extra weapons in Bayonetta, the secrets in the Zelda Oracle games, the Street Fighter moves in the Megaman X games. I'm happy if a game has worthwhile unlocks instead of promissory DLC and paywalls. People want shit too easy, with little effort, or straight from the get-go. Games are expensive so anything that gives a product longevity and worthwhile bonuses and secrets without having to pay extra is a good thing.

    I'm suprised The Lost from The Binding of Isaac Rebirth didn't make the list as it was very well hidden and was only discovered because of data mining not to mention all the steps it takes and the exactness you have to do them in to get the unlock.

    Hidden in great games? Then why was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on this list?

    I think we're forgetting the even more hidden unlockable in Mario Kart Super Circuit, and that is the Night time title screen. Sunset? That's nothing. Play through the game like normal, and get all the gold trophies, and it's not too difficult (but takes an eternity). Night time title screen required *** rank on every cup on every class. Not to mention how difficult it was to even get *** rank... it was one thing that made me not want to complete MKSC. Another great unlockable from another game would be in 'Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town', where you can get a mountain cottage, but cannot be obtained until at least 50 in-game years of marriage. It's just nuts.

    I must admit that im dissapointed by this list. To name a few, way more difficult unlockables in games: The Elton Brand weapon in Morrowind (you needed to complete a allready hidden, questline to get Goldbrand. Turn into a vampire..... meet a very specific person who didnt had a quest unless you are a vampire, while most people dont even talk to you when your a vampire... Complete the quest, come back with Goldbrand and exactly 11171 gold and THEN you get Elton brand.
    Another example: The duckraces or Fangmeis Birthday in Shenmue 2, who require to talk to specific persons on specific times during the game, beat one of the hardest fights/QTE's ingame and a whole bunch of other stuff. Anyone else some other examples?

    #2 and #1 are bonus unlocks for beating the game. Meanwhile, Mewtwo from Melee is sitting in the waiting room wondering when his turn is coming...
