- Today we discuss the European Ninjago Magazine! More specifically I wanted to review all of the packaging LEGO has done for the free magazine gifts over the years today.

I love how the minifigure selection is so inconsistent. Like, normaly you get a basic henchman or a ninja, but then you get stuff like the dragon forms, oni Garmadon, the Skull Sorcerer, Iron Baron, Ice Emperor, Benthomar etc.
yeah they occasionally just throw in really desirable figures its awesome
tbh it's all good as long as they don't throw in a mismatched ninja suit. I get really frustrated when they just swap out the hood for no reason.

@@personnsl they still do it from time to time. The most recent example would be crystalized Lloyd with an island headband (featured in this video). I think they will sometimes just throw something random together if the correct mask is not too difficult to replace (which might be why we got full dr s1 suits)

Here in Chile, it is not possible to find individual lego minifigures, so one is forced to buy a set to have the desired figure.
This magazines were my childhood, they were brilliant. Great mini figures and decent content, unfortunately the magazines started to lose their quality around issue 100 for me. That’s why I stopped buying them. Minfigures are decent still though.
Meanwhile the was the "lego club" magazine, which was pretty high quality, but didn't include any Lego (I think). Then these magazines are a bit of the opposite. But yeah, I'd instantly buy these if they released in my region

Tins are peak figure packaging
As someone who lives in Germany where these magazines are easily accessible and started collecting them... I love them, man. They saved me many times when I was missing a figure or provided me with a cool duplicate. Thanks to them I own every Dragonform Ninja twice. The posters can also be really great.

Magic Potato, something I've been wondering for a time. How many magazines do you get in Germany every year, and do you get a legacy magazine? Because I live in the Netherlands and the amount is very variable, and random. Like in the preview of the next magazine they put Lord Ras as a minifig, but we actually got Arin. Which I think is due to the fact the amount switchs almost every year like they just decide how many they want to translate from German (They come originally from Germany right?)

They release 12 Magazines in the regular Ninjago Magazine line, one for every month. Atleast were I live. They release other lines as well such as the legacy line that you mentioned, but since I only collect the regular magazines I'm pretty uninformed when it comes to them.
In your described case, they probably skipped on the Magazine with Ras in it.
Because Nr. 105 had a Ras minifigure, and Nr. 106 had an Arin. I have no clue why they would do this tho
And yeah, the Ninjago Magazines originally come from Germany. They are produced by Blue Ocean, a German company
@@MagicPotato08 thanks! That means and explains a lot actually. In the Netherlands most of the time we get 8 magazines in the regular line what would explain why they skip some minifigures.
The original foil bags were so premium and high quality. They shined the most with bionicle magazines (the two they did lmao) because they were stuffed with pieces. Magazines are something we don't appreciate enough nowadays (even if their prices are now inconsistent and blatantly too much).
I collect these magazines since 2017 and i absolutely love them. I was able to get minifigures i could never get like the Ice Emperor, the Golden Dragon Ninja, and many others. But one thing i don’t like about them is that in my country since like, 2019 i think, they just straight up skip some of them. Like a few months ago, i saw on RUclips a Dragons Rising Magazine with a Sora minifigure, but we never got it in my country. But fortunately this happens less and less now.
Tbh I never understood why the ninjago legacy magazine never had an issue that came with Nya. Also these are the best ninjago legacy issues imo. Pixal vs Viper Flyer, Golden (core) Lloyd vs Miss Demeanor and there's gonna be an issue w/ the Kai from the rising dragon strike without the armour and it comes with cinder
i think one of the coolest magazines they ever made was a custom faith from hunted
they did just take heavy metal, remove the hat and stick an innacurate bun piece, but its cool they tried ig

Man, i really wish people archive all of the Ninjago magazines just so i can see the comics
They seem like random skeletons with mohawks. They all have green eyes and none of them have the eyepatch thing. Also I just dissociate Legacy Skulkin from the originals in general, so even if Legacy Nuckal was there I wouldn't really care

I’ve never gotten a full magazine since I live in the US, but it’s great how they make some valuable figures more accessible. I easily got all the dragon form ninja, and oni Lloyd (without the mask) on eBay.
I ofc buy them for minifigures but sometimes I read the comic inside of it, doing some exercises from them too. also idk correctly but Lord Ras also had that type of bigger paperbag

I'm excited for the next 2 magazines... In the next mainline one you get Climber Lloyd and in the next Legacy one you get Cinder (with the shoulder fur thing) vs Rising Dragon Strike Kai
I have collected every single one of the tins because they are so awesome.
The only one I'm missing is the Germany exclusive core kai vs the bone king tin
I loved collecting Lego Ninjago and Star Wars Magazines but sadly i can find them anywhere in Romania, and they raised the price by a bit, my friend saw a 2022 magazine in April this year, the magazine releases in my city is super odd, the last time they came out properly in my city was back in March 2020

They're great! I'd definitely reccomend picking one up if you see them. It's great to have an accessible way to get PIXAL outside of the big Core sets. You could probably find the PIXAL box on ebay still :)

Atleast its a cheap way to get my fav characters like oni garmadon or hunted lloyd i really want fugitive Lloyd but dont have one yet it would be nice to get the full mask for him or his no headband hair but its still a great way to get him
Hold up let me cook, Ninjago Dragons Rising season 2 ends in a cliffhanger with Arin and Sora getting stranded in the land of Chima and they meet Laval who offers to help them, and the episode ends with the Laval The Lion Theme in the credits.

the tin box is the worst because it brought the price of the legacy magazines up by 25% in my country…

And I want actually know the story of the bone warriors (heard that the Bone King was a rival of Samukai and lost the underworld to him as Skulkin King) and the orange snake tribe (heard that they are a fith snake tribe, forgotten/could freed them self, and know Llyod as savor/freer of the snakes?)

The fact that tins made ninjago legacy magazines more pricier makes them worst to me since I am not buying it for the packaging but for minifigs and it just makes it less worth for me

Now I have a theory about Lego Ninjago dragon rising season 2 and hear me out. I strongly believe that the Moon that Ras is from is the same one that we see in chima but since Ras is on a different Island. We see the other side of the Moon. So this means there are two different blood moons events in Lego chima but they're both on different sides but the event is the same. What chima sees is that every hundred years the wolf tribe will be very aggressive and be very powerful and will turn pretty much evil until the blood moon stops. The same applies to the one we see in Ninjago. Whoever wears a wolf looking mask during the blood moon they will turn complete evil until the blood moon stops or after using gong of shattering and this gives me another theory.
How are the soldiers still being evil with the mask on. I believe that one day in chima there was a blood moon event but a piece of the Moon crash landed on the island and I believe the gong of shattering had an energy Crystal or a crazy theory a blood chi. When I was watching episode 2 I noticed when Cinder was using the mask the way his power up was pretty similar to what you see in chima when a character power up with chi. I also believe that the armor the soldiers and Cinder we're using has some type of chi inside the armor. So every time Ras hits the gong it releases a chi energy blast to the armor giving the extra power boost. I doubt we're going to see chi or at the very least a different type of chi like blood chi in Ninjago but if we do I think they'll be very cool.
Please let me know what you think of my theory and I do hope one day we will see almost all the tribes in chima helping the ninja into one massive battle but those are just hopes. Plus I think it'd be really cool that there was another tribe. The dragon tribe and these dragons are involved in human form just like the rest of the animals in chima.
I really liked the mixed up figures
and the old comic is the same one as we have now
But there are 3 diffrent comics og, legacy, special edition
The og/old comic was really good (even if they were noncanon)
The comic now is mixed (its hit or miss with the dragonrising ones having really cool new place for worldbuilding like the skullkin village or a separeted part of stix in the ocean on living plants)
The legacy comic is really bad (noncanon that could never took place in the universe; kinda shame because you could do something cool like the old comic book with interessting good stories)
The minifigures are nice
I mean, in defense of the first minifigs, I think it's the only time we got the zx hoods without any print.
Not the only time but it was the first. We got them all with the Airjitzu minifigs that same year

@@Crusty783 same, my closet and door are still covered in the posters, I have all of them from season 4 to around the start of 11, though I stopped buying it after that, as I just didn't want to watch the new seasons, when i got back into it, seabound was released, and the magazines I missed weren't in sale anymore, even on the website, and I preferred to stop there instead of having missing numbers, buying secondhand is possible, but people usually don't keep the bags >:(

I agree! Some of the comics are really cool. You don't get notable ones often but when you do its great. They were pretty standout in the first few months of 2022.

I hate those paper bags, in my city (Szydłowiec, Poland so iykyk), I need to go to specific place with owner that I know personally, or buy them online, bcz in every big store they are already opened/ ripped apart, same with cmfs😑
well in greece you have to pay subscription i cant find those in regular stores for examble this oni garmadon is cool but well cant buy the big set

that's a great idea for a thing to collect tbh. they all look so cool!

In all honesty the tins are kinda bad XD
As someone who buys the magazines monthly the tins in the legacy magazines made them twice the price of a normal magazine and here the price is pretty awful Lol
They are pried the same as the 10 dollar Lego sets like the Minecraft ones

Not going to lie I'm not sure if it's becouse of the actual production of the tilt box but I don't like the packaging becouse it made these magazines a lot pricier. At this point getting the magazine with a pollybag is cheaper than getting a magazine with two figures
