I was at that McSorley vs. Probert game. The place was going absolutely insane! At one time he was dating a friend of mine and the stories are legendary. Back in the black Corvette days. He lived life, that's for sure!
Back in the 80s, I got to meet him and Harold Snepts. Total gas stations had Red Wings player glasses and if you bought gas, you got them. They were just sitting outside at a fold up table. My dad and I walked up and talked to them. I got my 2 glasses and an autograph, from each. The good ol days, for me.
Rode shotgun for Yzeeman in the mid-late 80's and gave him more room to be the 60 goal-150 point player he was then. I so wish he would've been able to be a part of a Wings team that won the Cup.
RIP Probie, You are one of the Greats. I've been to so many Blackhawks games and Probie was a Beast. The Punches he took and kept on going would put a normal guy in the hospital. We miss you Probert🏒🏒🏒🏒🏒
I'll never forget the night at Chicago's old stadium. Usual pregame buzz by the crowd until probie appeared out of the tunnel. The crowd instantly became silent. The silence was deafening. If you haven't read bobs book called tough guy. You should.
Wow and to think that in 87-88 his stats were: 1987-88 Detroit Red Wings NHL GP74 G29 A33 P62 +16 PIM398 same year in the playoffs 16Games, 8Goals, 13Assists, 21 Points and 51 PIM For a guy that was one of the best fighters ever, its a shame he did not show the skills he had for the game more. He probably could of scored 20 every year if he wanted to.
Mid to late 90s Twist was a monster. Early to mid 00s larauque was one of the best I’ve seen. Boogard too. Just a beast. Such a long reach Probie was probably the heavy weight champ for the longest stretch though
he was a kid in that one with stevie...his build and face hadn't yet matured.. rip probie..as an islander fan there were two players I used to try to see when they came to the coliseum...Mario and probie...so all pens games and red wings games I was there
I was at the probie domi fight at the msg ....it was electric in that building ....my god the anticipation for that fight was crazy ....rip probie the greatest .
You can find it at this link: ruclips.net/video/rTqMLyfdh3I/видео.html Funny fact: In his book, he says he rode to the taping from Windsor,ON with his wife on his motorcycle and afterwards, he headed to Paul Coffey's cottage for a vacation.
now i get it. you are so so smart. thanks for making me a better person. now, find the courage to tell a drug dealer they are responsible for sept. 11. do you get it now?
Only a certain kind of man couldn’t understand what he is doing women I’m sure I have no clue how this is possible and how guys can still stay friends it’s business only business
I can't understand people who call him "skinny" and "lanky" etc. If that's the case, then the Stu Grimson of the early nineties could've been considered waiflike, yet he was still deadly at times!!!!!! In my book, Probie's build looked a whole lot better than the likes of Tony Twist, who looked fat in normal clothes. And compared to smaller players like Chris Chelios, I thought Probie looked like a big, hard, impenetrable wall of a man, myself. When you think about it, Probie was about the same height and weight as muhammad ali. I don't see how that's skinny!!!!!!
Probie could play hockey, he had good hands and a good shot, you put him with Gordie and Stevie Y up front and Vladdy and lids rom on the blue line shit !!!! And Sawckuck in net, there’s my line what you got !!! They would Dominate.......
The respect shown at the end of the the McSorley fight is awesome to watch.
perfectly said...
Bob is a legend the best enforcer of all time and he had so much talent
Bob was the reason I got into hockey. I love that guy. I'm still sad he passed so young. It sucks and life is never fair
Miss you so much Probbie. You taught me to always fight for what I feel to be the right thing.
Working man's player. I hope you found peace. God bless your family.
My all-time favorite hockey player
RIP Bob Probert
I'm crying 😢...my favorite
As an islander fan I hated when we played probby, he scared me when I was a kid. RIP big man.
Hockey ain't the same. THANKS for the memories. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Such a underrated player. He could really play the game the way it was meant to be played.

it was like, it felt like his life would go on forever
Worked out with him at my gym in chicago way back. Strong as a bull, thoroughly nice guy.

@@stevezak3663 im sorry that you're fat now
RIP Bobby. Your missed.
the nhl needs more players like probert and clark they were the good old days
I totally agree. When guys started letting their emotions get the better of them, guys like Probert and Clarke would set them straight. RIP#24.
Loved Probert! Back then, I don’t care if the Wings were down 8-0. If Probert was in the lineup, you did not shut the game off! RIP Bob
Probert, you were the best! R.I.P.
Every time I see the number 24 I think of this guy, whenever it comes up. Always.
The man the myth the legend!!

@B1FFCO Broke my heart when I found out he had passed..
A true beauty.
Excellent tribute.

And an All Star Gsme appearance..
Great shot at the end of Probie looking up at the clock.
Bob Probert Theeee absolute best enforcer of all time...no one better ..my nephew chris simon is 2nd
That is respect and it deserves a respectful comment. Hats off to you for that comment..That is true humility
Mid to late 90s Twist was a monster. Early to mid 00s larauque was one of the best I’ve seen. Boogard too. Just a beast. Such a long reach Probie was probably the heavy weight champ for the longest stretch though
If he had kept his demons in check, he may have been able to have stuck with the red wings, and possibly won a cup.

Best fighter ever
Probie the legend.

Any knowledgeable hockey fan would love to have had Probert wearing their teams jersey, RIP

I was there too.
Rip Probie
That PrObert fight with Mcsorley was a long fight,
R.I.P big guy
His time with the Red Wings seemed too short. It was fun watching Probert and Kocur.
Rip Brother
He had great hands, not only for fighting but when he was in close on the net. I hate the fact that people just focus on his fights!
Bob was the best...Dave and him would be a good til!!
Nice tribute to # 24!! Where can I find the Don Cherry interview that is shown on here? Would love to see the entire interview. Thanks!

I'm sure you spent a lot of money somewhere, unknowing to where that money went, and it went to someone doing evil. Congrats.
wow he was skinny
225-230lbs is big for a 6'3" person without being ridiculously bloated.
Skinny as compared to what a weightlifter? The guy was an in shape hockey player who fought on the ice often..

He filled out over the years and that is in game shape lots of fat lost but tons of stamina built and strength
@@kickaxe6577 no wonder brashear toyed him around
Beating up 5’10 170lb Canadian guys in the 80s just isn’t as big a deal as we make it to be.

nice comment
