This has got to be one of THE greatest moments in golf history. Makes me wish I would have paid more attention to golf in my younger years. We miss you Tiger
i watch all the "major" sports but i love any amazing moments in any sport. When people ask this is always near the top of my list of things i watched live. Just watched the mens 4x100 in the 2008 olympics and that is stunning. What a year for sports. 2006 Travis Pastrana backflip...mind numbing. 2011 World Series game 6 David Freese...epic. 1973 Secretariat Belmont Stakes...#1
I was in the stands behind the green for this. I remember how silent it got, you just knew he was gonna drop the putt....and then he did! Wow it was awesome.
One of the craziest things about him, was that whenever it mattered most, its almost as if he willed the ball into the hole. Incredible stuff, and it must have been even more incredible seeing this in person.
I always thought he should go back to Butch. I mean he could never replicate that early 2000's swing but i think he did his best work with Butch. Plus he is coaching some of the best players in the world right now Adam Scott included
How blessed was I to be in the grandstand on 18. The entire crowd was literally preparing for the celebration when he made the putt, not a soul there believed he would miss
It's a shame that Rory McIlroy never maintained the high standards seen in his early career (4 majors from 2011-2014). Meanwhile Tiger wins at Augusta in 2019 at 43 years old. Truly the GOAT.
dnewt003 hell the greatest golf tournament I've ever seen played. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday individually are some of the best days of golf I've ever seen and they were all in one week!
Thank you Tiger... it's been incredible, hope there's more! Nice job today at Masters on Friday, 3 under when no one thought you would make the cut months away from the game.

This US Open is the greatest championship ever conducted. The greatest player vs an ultimate underdog, battling it out to the bitter end. Saturday’s back nine and this putt by Tiger were out of this world.
Tiger was so clutch: '99 PGA Championship 17th hole-makes a huge par to stay a shot ahead of a surging Sergio Garcia, winning 2nd major; this was really Tiger's "Jordan the shot" moment that put him on winning path where he refused to lose '00 PGA Championship 18th hole-makes birdie shot to force (and win) playoff against Bob May, who had played a beautiful round of golf that against any other player should have been good enough to win the tournament ''05 Masters after bogeying the final 2 holes and allowing Chris DeMarco to stay in it, Tiger recovers in the first playoff hole hitting 3 PERFECT golf shots (drive, approach, putt) to win his 4th green jackket '08 US Open-THIS shot to force the playoff against Rocco Mediate and winning the next day's playoff of 18 holes, that actually went to a 19th!
Without Tiger there's no Golf. Golf is boring to watch even with the young talents today like Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Rory Mcilroy. It would be another 100 years to see another Tiger. Tiger is G.O.A.T.
Pretty my parents and I watched this at their house in ‘08. So many epic rounds we got to see back then. Seemed like any old weekend you could turn on the tv and watch a few hours of magic by the best. It’s like how Jordan was when I was little and used to watch His career with my friend down the street who I played basketball with everyday. Those were the days 😁
I was working for Nike golf and the Callaway guys and I were behind Tiger on the 18th hole..all I hear from those guys is "he won't make it..your're boy is done". After the round..I had a chance to walk on that green..wow..how did he make that..it broke just slightly..get the speed wrong..amazing and clutch putt..place just roared...oh and when I turned around..the Callaway guys were gone :)
This distinguishes the greatest player from a good player. Roll back and see Westwood succumb to mounting pressure, ending up a tentative stroke (his ball came up short, slicing to the right). Tiger remained confident in his line and consistent stroke, which is evident from the fact that his ball dropped down on high side. Subtle yet an undeniable difference in mental strength.
The best thing for golf right now would be a healthy Tiger Woods back competing for major championships against Jordan, Rory, and Jason. Would love to see this happen!
Tiger woods is not the best thing for golf. He never has been unless you are another pga tour player. He's a disgusting human being that surrounds himself with pure shit. The young (and older) guys now are way more than enough to make golf interesting. The last thing golf needs is a gimpy tiger embarrassing himself because his body won't do what it used to due to injuries from steroid use, and the networks making it seem like we have to watch him shoot 76 while Jordan spieth is making history.
+A Train You mean Jordan Speith is choking. None of these young guys will do in golf what this man did, your comments are so stupid!! Win 4 majors in a row, 7 out of 11, I doubt it. And did Tiger fail a drug test I don't know about?! Go hate and troll somewhere else.
+A Train nobody will ever be on tigers level in this generation or any future generation tiger is the goat now hop off Jordans meat, he has 2 majors. tiger has 14 and wayyyyy more wins Jordan rory and all the Youngsters will never be compared to tiger tiger is the GOAT
when a human being doesn't have anything in themselves they never see value in another. Tiger is coming back and the guy is a winner he will definitely win again. wish you speed recovery man.
Tiger. Greatest golfer in history. Tiger Woods did it with the greatest field depth in golf history. Jack never had Tiger's SHORT game... nor did he have Tiger's LONG game. NOR did Jack have Tiger's RECOVERY shot history. Jack didn't have Tiger's creativity AROUND the rough of the green. Tiger is the best PUTTER in golf history (really, WHO else hit the hundreds & hundreds of game changing birdie & eagle putts to change tournaments? Jack had the '86 Masters, and that's about it for putting brilliance measurement). WHO else hit the THOUSANDS of 5 FOOT PAR PUTTS? No one. The greatest short stick players in golf history, NEVER won double digit majors with the short stick, the best putters in history NEVER won double digit tournaments PERIOD. Tiger's win here was impossible. Tiger's first Masters win was impossible (really, LAPPING the field). Tiger's win over Bob May was impossible. Tiger's win at the 2005 Masters included the GREATEST shot in golf history.... here is the MOST telling statistic in golf: STROKES TO PAR... Tiger Woods is BY FAR the greatest golfer in history, STROKES TO PAR. Look it up.
Tiger 79 AND COUNTING... Jack 73... ouch. I know you racist conservatives NEED Tiger to lose so you have a purpose in your life (really, you righties are a behavioral psychologists' wet dream)... but you need new hobbies. And to think he's ALREADY beaten Jack with SEVERAL seasons sacrificed to numerous swing changes & injuries... again, that's gotta hurt. But go ahead with your mediocrity of a "record"... it's like the FAT Babe Ruth home run record... not really a record.
I'm sorry, don't you mean Tiger 79, Jack 73? I'll go all day... and you know if they were both playing in their prime's Tiger would beat him off the tee, in the fairway & on the green don't you? Numbers don't lie. It wouldn't be close.
+A Ki Not even three years ago, Tiger won golf's 5th major, "The Players"...that same spring; 2013...he hit the pin on 15 and got a herrindous bounce and then took an illegal drop from which, he never recovered. Up to that point, he was playing Augusta National like a surgeon; in control, in the lead and Bam, just like Jordan on 12, golf happened. Tiger is a once in a lifetime talent. If Tiger wants it, he will get it. No worries.
Tiger played 5 rounds of high pressure golf on a double stress fracture of his left tibia, and a blown left ACL, which needed surgery after the tournament. He missed the rest of the 2008 season. Hasn't won a major since.
He got the speed right like always. At 17:08, focusing on the NIKE swoosh, you can see the roll beginning to slow as the ball neared the hole. It slowed enough to let gravity snatch it away from the lip out that a tiny bit more speed would have caused. That's Tiger, though.
Hunter Snoderly - Tiger has been using the Nike Method putter only since the 2010 British Open. He won 13 of his 14 majors with the Scotty Cameron putter
+Abraham Potts Well, you're correct Abraham... I've had the good fortune to witness Tiger's greatness in person in Chicago a few times at the Western Open (now the BMW Championship). Tiger was down by 5-6 strokes as I walked along on a par 5. The crowd for Tiger was enormous so I walked to the next hole and listened for a "birdie roar" from the gallery... sure enough I heard the applause meaning Tiger reached the par 5 and hit a 20 foot birdie putt. So I walked to the green on the next hole, a 400 yard par 4. As I approached the green where Vijay Singh was putting, a "hushed buzz" was going around the gallery near the green which meant (to me at the time) that maybe Vijay or his playing partner hit a big putt. Nope. Tiger had just hit a nearly perfect 397 yard tee shot that landed on a small strip (7 feet wide) between two bunkers guarding the green from such shots. Tiger was 3 yards short of a perfect 400 yard drive. Tiger made birdie. On the next hole Tiger hit a 300 yard drive to a big fairway but had 270 yards to a dog leg left green. The green was protected by a GIANT oak tree (about 150-200 years old). The tree completely walled off the ENTIRE green from view from 270 yards away. From my vantage point (20 yards away from Tiger), the shot was clearly a layup because to go at the green was golf suicide. But Tiger went for it. He CLEARED the big oak tree impossibly and left himself with another eagle putt, but from 72 feet uphill with a bit of break. As I walked around the gallery which had a thousand people around the green I decided to not fight the big crowd... I thought "Tiger will hopefully "two putt" for birdie, I'll listen for the birdie roar and have myself seated on the next hole, a long par 3". As I seated myself on the next hole only a few yards from the previous par 5, I waited (like everyone else) for the sound of what Tiger did on the previous hole. The sound of the gallery would tell us what happened. I'll never forget that sound. EAGLE. The sound wasn't a nice, exciting birdie roar, it was A GIANT OH MY GOD THUNDERBOLT of applause and excitement that you could hear for half a mile. So I missed Tiger's impossible Eagle. On the next hole, the 230 yard par 3 (guarded by another tree that had a limb hanging out over 1 quarter of the hole on the right), Tiger hit a long shot that landed 40 feet from the hole on the left. I was on a hill that acted as a theater to watch the hole from. I was 200 yards from the green. As Tiger hit his putt, the ball rolled and rolled and rolled and rolled... and then it simply disappeared. Birdie. There was Tiger down by 5 strokes to Jim Furyk. In 4 holes the tournament was tied. Tiger did the impossible. Usually converted on the impossible. Tiger made the impossible... possible.
Hotel foxtrot has a serious hard on for tiger woods. You're admiration is seriously misplaced. You probably wore golf shoes to that western open so you could really feel like you were part of the moment and lie to yourself about having anything to do with what was happening on the golf course. Tiger woods made a deal with the devil and now he's paying the price. The only thing he has to look forward to is fading into obscurity and watching his kids undoubtedly become fuck ups.
Can’t believe that’s even grass. The greens on my local course are like the fairways on this course. 😆 It’s like a football pitch with a slightly smoother bit near the flag.
Christian Cunningham Currently tied for 7th at the Masters, He's doing just fine. 7th is good considering everyone is playing their best game. You can tell he's getting there. The long ball just isn't what it used to be for him.
I hope so. Speith is a lot better than I thought he was and McIlroy is gonna play with a vengeance after falling short at Augusta. After that, he just has to fight off Fowler, Johnson, Rose, Mickelson, Watson, Kaymer, Stenson, Matsuyama, Reed, Horschel, Scott, Day, Walker and McDowell (who beat him in his own tournament). So, you know, no pressure.
It's because he's so unflashy. And because it seemed too good to be true. Also, he let it slip through his fingers last year and it's all just a guessing game anyways. But I've grown partial to Speith and I'm interested to see what he does this May in Jacksonville.
If you watched golf back then, you didnt even have to watch that putt to know they were 100% playimg 18 the next day...tiger woods would NEVER miss that...never
How many other humans could control their breathing, heart rate, adrenaline, enough...AND measure, aim, stroke, follow-through, AND profile like he did here? THEN come back the next day to play 18 more holes - with a coupla' small broken bones in his leg.....and win?! Get the fuck outta here!
I always hated how that one guy smiled in Rocco’s face after tiger sunk the putt. Like, dude why are you smiling all in my face, I could have won! You think I’m happy I gotta lose this playoff now?!
Nobody has ever been better than Tiger between 1997 and 2008. The greatest golf ever played.
snoozefest ever since.....
Have to agree. Not dissing Jack, he was off the charts also, but in that stretch Tiger was unbelievable.
Would love to have seen Jack and Tiger play as contemporaries
He was just Dickin around
I doubt we’ll see anyone catch that kind of greatness in our lifetime.
This has got to be one of THE greatest moments in golf history. Makes me wish I would have paid more attention to golf in my younger years. We miss you Tiger

That must have been an incredible experience for you 👏👏👏
“Expect anything different” is one of the best calls by an announcer ever.
Same guy made the call "There's Your Leader!!" after his eagle on 18 previous day was awesome, too.
Yep and 100% nobody expected prime tiger woods to.miss that putt...when it was on the line it may as well have been a gimme with that guy at his peak
I hope we get to see more of this Tiger. I know he's probably not gonna catch Nicklaus, but I'd love to see him win another major or two.
+assume ass-u-me *palm to face. Jack Nicklaus
He doesn't have anything left in him. He won't win again.
I hope he can win a single tournament on PGA again, period. I doubt he wins another major. Too much damage in that back and knee
Probably not so much. That car wreck was serious.
@@atrain9051 OOPS.

Tiger’s impact on golf as a competitor and as someone who influenced hundreds of thousands to play the game.
One of the greatest calls in all of sports from Dan Hicks...

Tiger made the impossible... possible.
+hotel foxtrot fuckin goat
Hotel foxtrot has a serious hard on for tiger woods. You're admiration is seriously misplaced. You probably wore golf shoes to that western open so you could really feel like you were part of the moment and lie to yourself about having anything to do with what was happening on the golf course. Tiger woods made a deal with the devil and now he's paying the price. The only thing he has to look forward to is fading into obscurity and watching his kids undoubtedly become fuck ups.
If this doesn't hype you and give you goosebumps then you just don't know golf
Can’t believe that’s even grass.
The greens on my local course are like the fairways on this course. 😆
It’s like a football pitch with a slightly smoother bit near the flag.
Wow.
Tiger really *is* done.
It's finally setting in.
He'll never be "2000-2009 good" again.
Damn…
Age is a bitch.
Christian Cunningham Currently tied for 7th at the Masters, He's doing just fine. 7th is good considering everyone is playing their best game. You can tell he's getting there. The long ball just isn't what it used to be for him.
Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting hard.
But Tiger still has some kinks to work out.
Apart from that, this is a promising showing from Tiger.
Christian Cunningham He was in full whore mode at that time...he needs them again for him to win again..
The greatest up and down of all time.
my final hold in Bertam golf resort..🦅🦅🦅
Johnny Miller was one of the best. On Westwood's 3rd shot - "He's never been this nervous, ever".
The greatest of all time
That Sunday afternoon was "perhaps" the last moment of glory for Tiger Woods. His last moments where he truly showed power and dominance.
he actually completely destroyed the field in 2009 for the short time he was there
and he won 5 tournaments in 2013...
I remember watching this and kind of forgot Westwood was there at the end.
I was the nervous wreck Old woman watching and praying Tiger's ball MUST get into the hole. Alhamdulilah Aamin 😂😅😮
This video is NOTHING without the Nike commercial of earl woods after tiger went in the sand trap.
If you watched golf back then, you didnt even have to watch that putt to know they were 100% playimg 18 the next day...tiger woods would NEVER miss that...never
Rocco crapped in his pants when he realized he has to play Tiger for 18
Goat
I hate it when they turn down the sound for crowd roars. It ruins the vibe
This was like a scene from a movie. "Expect anything different?"
And what's with the Titleist putter for Tiger?
They started the extra holes after the playoff round on a hole that favored Tiger and hindered Rocco. The USGA wanted Tiger to win.
Tiger was the greatest clutch putter of all time. Why - because he knew he’d made the putt before the putt was ever struck!!!!!
That must have been awesome being there
Is it me or did the ball look like it make a complete turn into the cup as it was going past it
It's in the hole it's in the hole lol
I was rooting for TW, but I would've been happy for RM.
9:33 - "Don't check out of your hotel room Rocco"
or how about "that's the first time i ever saw Rocco not talking" LOL
Back when Tiger was Tiger
How many other humans could control their breathing, heart rate, adrenaline, enough...AND measure, aim, stroke, follow-through, AND profile like he did here? THEN come back the next day to play 18 more holes - with a coupla' small broken bones in his leg.....and win?! Get the fuck outta here!
"Don't check out of your hotel". J. Miller...
17:46 But what did Rocco have to say?
Amazing Tiger was able to play on basically a broken leg. Albeit a self inflicted injury .
Dang I wanted to hear what Rocco had to say!
What did Rocco say??!!!!
I always hated how that one guy smiled in Rocco’s face after tiger sunk the putt. Like, dude why are you smiling all in my face, I could have won! You think I’m happy I gotta lose this playoff now?!
That ball isn't the only thing he put in a hole that night
Tiger woods is another OJ SIMPSON'S
we'll never know what Rocco had to say
Greatest putt all time.
