I have always admired Madonna as a true original, a pioneer with guts and gumption. However, true artists don't keep peeking over their shoulders to see and criticize those following in their wake. It's unseemly and evokes all of the cliches about "a new star rising" and the old star "clinging" to false glory forever. Gaga is a REALLY REALLY great artist and performer and has a wonderfully lovable persona (people who like her tend to want to protect her and appreciate her humanness). That's just not Madonna. New InventionsUnfold By the way, the voice travels up, not down, try it yourself... Sir Elton holds the microphone on his chest at one stage in the 'live' concert for a whole song... The only thing you should hear is the band and his heartbeat... Look at good singers (Aretha, Mina etc) they do move the mictophone, but only from mouth level to just above it (again, 3 inches max).

It's simple: Madonna has a net worth twice that of Elton. Madonna has WAY more #1 albums in both the US, UK and any other country. Madonna has WAY more #1 singles as well. I would hate her too if I was Elton, since Elton has been putting out music since 1968 and Madonna started only in 1982.
