well, there is one problem when tanking dmg, while not mentioned directly in video, it still was highlighted: its very resource consuming. better armors are expensive, healing a lot of health require quite some time to prepare, etc, etc.. kiting, while more difficult in many cases, is just much cheaper. still, knowing how to tank dmg might be useful, especially considering dst can be laggy sometimes
Webber can also get some pretty impressive healing going with Nurse Spiders. I wonder if that gives an edge over Wigfrid in the end? But I don't think it's a good comparison anyways, because afaik there is no cap on nurse spiders other than game performance.
mm yeah probably but honestly I think webbers nurse spiders can allow him to do crazy heals without needing armor lol. Get enough of them and they basically will never die too.
I came here to mention Webber’s nurses 😂 each nurse spider’s AOE heals webber 8 hp/8 sec or 1hp/sec per nurse spider limited only by space. I haven’t tested it myself so I don’t know the max yet but I’m guessing it’s 30+ before armor
dreadstone only has 90%normal reduction. and the 5 planar defense. The planar defense does not affect normal damage so it does not count for the calculation. only against planar does it count. Dreadstones ability is that it has armor regen fixing itself@@frzzzzz
didn't really think about it mm. But usually I don't add holiday exclusives to these videos because they are not consistently around. despite the player being able to set holiday seasons 24/7 out of the whole year
From playing Overwatch tons, if there's one thing that's hard to get people to understand, it's effective healing. Less knowledgeable players always think it's a joke or something.
Good video. I do have some criticism though. Although, mathematically, saying "you have 44x times the hp" is correct by equivalence, linguistically, visually, and from a game's perspective, it's not that you have more HP, but that mobs do less damage to your health pool. Armor is not giving you more HP, but reducing the damage that reaches you. So the math is the same if you go one way, or the other, but I would rather have a video saying "Marble makes FW hit for 5HP while it lasts", than "Marble armor makes you have +735hp" That's just because "armor HP" is not displayed in game, but it's rather a mathematical calculation from durability and hits. If I don't have armor, and FW hits me, I can see my HP drop by 100. If I have Marble and FW hits me, I can see my HP drop by 5. Which, again, yes, it's the same as having 835HP and getting still getting hit by 100 points of damage, but it becomes confusing to thing about HP and Healing in those terms. But, yeah, bottom line is "High Armor + Healing = Invincibility"
Yeah certainly it goes both ways the way that it's mentioned and how they affect each other in the game but I feel like there is a fallacy that occurs a lot whenever people see numbers like with wigfrid. People see a damage reduction of 25% but instead they think it's 25 percent more health when it's actually more. And I think that's what's great about math because you can always look at it in many different ways and come to the same conclusion.
No the blue cap always heals 20 hp The math I show in the video is to show how much further armor can extend healing Just because the player takes less damage
Thats only a health pool. with warly spice and max marble armors the wx total health untill death is 17250 His healing is less though. only being 1.5x more. wx can only tank 428 dps without loosing hp. though he can tank more burst damage like stunlock wigfrid gets a 9524 hp health pool with her defense and spice. But wigfrids healing is 2.38x as effective meaning she can tank up to 800 dps making Wigfrid tank much more just due to healing.
Kinda disappointed this doesn’t bring into account Wanda and the fact that you can cancel large amounts of damage with her watch, for example if you were smacked by a stack of shadow knights that should’ve done over 4000 damage you could just slam the watch and completely mitigate most of the damage.
mm true makes sense. Wanda can take the highest single instance of damage and survive it. But I don't think she could do what wigfrid was doing there tanking 4 engraged klauses and not taking any damage.
@@DVGMedia1 I suppose but also it’s more of a realistic scenario for me since I’ve seen multiple people get bodied while farming the shadow pieces compared to four klaus. When Wanda first came out I tried to figure out a way to make basically a Wanda dodge tank but with dodging the full extent of the attack with her watch that heals her. Never bore fruit but was a fun few tests, I hope they give us some more unique ways to combat damage in the foreseeable future instead of just “log suit but it does x” or “football helmet but wearing it grants you planar defence too” stuff like the bone armour or hamlets vortex cloak would be cool, was even originally hoping the vortex cloak and even ancient herald would make an appearance in the from below update, given the blights all share characteristics and the dark tatters drops.
You know what I could have totally used the shadow pieces as my tank test I was thinking of what did the most damage and a t3 knight does 150 damage. Each enraged klaus swipe does 102 so 204 for both hits. But maybe 5 t3 knights would have been a better showing of how much tank is happening.@@Boney9551
Well they had like their own damage calculations And It kind of deserves its own video once everything is out on the table and all the content is released. I'll be honest I havent really interacted much with the new content. I think the brightshade is tankier against lunar with like 20 percent dmg reduction as well as the 20 planar defense. While void is more about fighting. I think with wigfrid combined with spice and the armors makes it so you don't take any planar damage from at least bright shades. or she takes at least 5 planar. so still would be like a 90% reduction of total damage. against the bright shade plants.
@@DVGMedia1i made a spreadsheet taking the average damage decreases from every combination of armor against planar enemies! on average, the best armor combo for planar damage is the dreadstone armor + void helm, with an average 89% damage reduction against shadow aligned planar, and 80% against lunar aligned i could share it if you want :>
bro just flexed all his armor skins

Extremist builds in games like these really aren't meant to be viable, just to be a fun experiment.
Thats why Woodie's Weremoose form is the best tank. Super cheap and crazy effective
“Does this make wormwood the best tank?”
That sentence is so wrong in every way and I’m glad it exists
Going into planar could be worthwhile since it's newer and even less understood than regular armor and healing
😮
Thank you for this video! There's so much depth to DST and it's always wonderful to watch you explore and explain it.

Glad you mention about wx
He is one the best characters can maximize a single stat if he chooses to
Shoutouts to Webber with 100 nurse spiders
Conclusion: wear your armors
Geuss who just recently got +5 planar defense.
and even more planar defence on commander's helmet
beefalo: look at what they need to mimic fraction of our power
beefalo is not TANKY at all its so easy to kill
wigfrid reigns supreme as usual
how to drain through your team’s marble suit supply:
i love your videos and charisma!! ^^
hey dvg would dreadstone armour be better than marble suits the marble suit has 5% more protection than dreadstone armour has 5 more planar defense
also would adding a helmet with planar defense help with decreasing the damage you take?
dreadstone only has 90%normal reduction. and the 5 planar defense. The planar defense does not affect normal damage so it does not count for the calculation. only against planar does it count.
Dreadstones ability is that it has armor regen fixing itself@@frzzzzz
what about the sanguine experiment for even more regen?

Blue cap heal amount changes off armor? Is that correct?
No the blue cap always heals 20 hp

Will Wolfgang heal more with the bat bat? I mean if its damage% for the healing Wolfgang shoud be better
sadly he doesn't the bat bat has a fixed rate of healing.
