It sure spunds like you made the right decision to purchase the SS. I think it ups the quality of life having Mrs. 402 joining you on adventures. Im super happy for you both. :)
Hey, doesn't matter what 2 wheeler you ride, or 3 wheeler, or car, truck, SUV, etc.... there will always be critics, but who's opinion matters most ? ... your own opinion... well your own opinion is a close second to the most important opinion... your spouse... if you don't believe me, just ask her 🤔😅 RJ, your Slingshot looks really cool and a ton of fun 👊😁👍👍
they are not motorcycles, plain and simple. It's got bucket seats and a steering wheel. they are fun machines, I hang around alot of people that own them and they love them. Glad you are having fun with it.
That Polaris looks great with the roof on, gives it a hot-looking angle - nice. Super-happy you're loving it and having good times, love it mate. That was so funny that your camera is so keen to interpret hand movements as a stop-recording command. After watching your video, if these were available in Australia and I had the money to buy one, I would be googling for them right now - absolutely love it, so awesome. Can't wait for the riding footage!
Thanks Nic! I’m surprised they don’t export there since they do Indians. Could be they don’t pass safety standards there. I do have some footage for b-roll I’ll use soon plus, with the roll cage , there are so many additional places to mount cameras!
Great review. My long-time friend TriMark MC (Mark Bolek) loves his Sling. In Tennessee, unless it has a roof (roll bars) you must wear a helmet. He just uses a half helmet. They fit fine in the behind the seat storage.
I’ve been watching Mark’s videos some. Good to know for when I travel there. I guess I would be good with my setup but would carry a half helmet just in case.
Great review RJ. A few months ago when my Dad and I were at the Can Am dealer we took a look at some of the Slingshots they had there. They’re pretty neat machines. 🙂🏍️👍
Some say it’s a sickness 🙂 My buddy who owns a car lot even told me they were going to have an intervention lol. And I’ve probably bought 20 cars from him.
looks like a very cool toy. Before I purchased my Spyder I sat in several of the Vanderhall models and I agree with you, too small, too much like a car (plus it was hard to just get in and out of).
@@602North Yep. I ride every week regardless of the weather (so I don't have to worry about winterizing it). I am heading to Nashville on it next week.
Hey RJ, I'm only 6 minutes in and paused it for a minute, and I'm enjoying this video, and chuckling cuz you've already mentioned twice about trying not to make a 17 min video... ☺️😅 ... but don't worry, I will enjoy every minute of this video 👊😁👍
Well I was wrong on that one then and good to know. If NC hadn’t changed the law I probably wouldn’t have bought one. Having to wear a helmet would ruin the experience for me. Well, maybe wouldn’t be too bad with a beanie on.
@@jeffharry4341 I should have researched more before opening my big mouth lol. I did read in the forums TN is required unless you have a top/rollbar/roll cage. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
That was awesome thanks for telling us about that new machine of yours, never seen one of them around here before, looks mint. Hope you do some videos of you giving it some curry, would be great to see! Also that follow camera is that your iphone? seems to follow you around the screen, pretty cool mate
I ride. I m looking for this kind of vehicle / bike to ride long distance to enjoy my ride. My Harley I ride short distance. And my Fanny gets an ache after a while. The rain the cold I can handle. The heat I still dress long sleeve boots long pants rain gear always packed. Helmet sunglasses.! Gloves summer n winter . ( gloves). If it’s a bike the fuel is the same ? Handles similar to a bike? 4 cycle? Is this bike - as a 1200 Harley? That’s what I ride. Motorcycle oil? I love it!!! You explained greatly.! I understood.
It’s much more like a car and the seats are very comfortable. The engine is a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder. It uses regular gas, although I always put premium in it like I did on my Harley’s and Indian.
Sir, did you have a had time laying down your velcro on the bare? I just brought that same roof. I have no idea how to lay the velcro down. Can you do a video showing your velcro on your roof without the cover. Thank you
It wasn't too bad. I cleaned the area, placed the velcro on the canvas top first, once I had it like I wanted it, I removed the backing and pressed it (attached to the top) onto the frame. I'll shoot you a quick video.
Yeah, I do the same thing. I do a little bit of research before. I purchase anything and that is on everything, even cell phones. I think that will be a lot more fun than driving a Miara, that's for sure
I guess I’m one of the car guys. I just got an email for these. They LOOK fun and that’s a big factor in buying things like this. HOWEVER……… at 37 plus thousand dollars, you’d have to be out of your mind or rich. I can have just as much fun in say a 2019 corvette with 50k miles for less than that. And you’d have trunk space and have more safety features. Not to mention the performance differences. The corvette would run circles around the slingshot. And if it started raining, put the top on, close the windows and turn on the ac. They’d have to drop that price in half before I’d even consider buying one. But I am a true automotive enthusiast and can respect anyone’s differences. If you like it that’s all that matters.
@@DualsPortvet It’s definitely not for everyone. And it is expensive. I’ve seen some side by sides going for over $40k and people buying them, which is insane to me, yet here I am with a Slingshot that cost nearly as much. Same as some motorcycles nowadays. Good perspective on it and I appreciate your opinion.

They DO look like a lot of fun! Looks like it sits too low for my bad knees to get in and out of the darned thing, though.
It really is fun John. I worried about that for me too but I don’t have a problem with it and I usually do with small cars…even my wife’s Beetle.

The slingshot is pretty cool looking. In California, any 3 wheel vehicle is classified as a car, no motorcycle license required.
Yes but you have to wear a helmet in Cali :-(

It’s a Polaris Slingshot (same company that makes Indian motorcycles). The Vanderhal is made by Vanderhal and is very narrow with a smaller motor.

They have tops for them and are often already installed. I bought my top from Twist Dynamics. They make accessories for them.

Yes, you can use most any motorcycle trailer.
