My Dad was D-day +3 (3 days after the initial landing) and was in the Battle of Aachen. One of his friends was over the house and we were having some drinks. This was just before I shipped out to S.E. Asia. He told me that this was the worst fighting that they experienced in the whole War, worse than the hedge-rows in France, Belgium and Holland. I'm 74 and still remember this conversation around the dining room table.

Not a single battle on the Western Front can be compared with the battles on the Eastern Front (the Germans themselves talked about this). If it was hell for you, then what did Soviet soldiers have to experience for a common victory over the Nazis?

Same with my grandpa he was on D-day but he was in the Canadian army in WW2

As I saw, many of the machinima lovers are asking how I make the AI soldiers moving like that. The answer is simple, every single AI character or vehicle you see, is unitCaptured or animated via cutscenes, nothing more nothing less. But the real deal, the thing that you need to emphasize more, is the environment, the battle space. This is the half of the movie, do not ignore it.
PS. Don't forget one thing. The machinima may be a little bit short but there is only one guy working on it. Scripting, animating, sound designing, editing, everything, just one f guy 🥵

After only recently diving into machinima/cinematics myself, have to say, I have even more respect for what you and other machinima makers put out there. The "set design" is a job on its own as is the basic organising of shots/scenes/sequences.... wether that be through layers, timelines or even seperate mission files. Anyway, Fantastic work as always! the MG opening up on the infantry around the tank was just....*chef kiss.

7:08 Dude, I love this type of scenes, I don't care if it's in WW2 or any modern combat, I love when a tank appear like that.
The one thing I LOVED about this is the room clearing techniques the US uses. Don’t know how accurate they are but the fact you included that detail really sells how desperate the fighting was!

They sound like they are from the Company or heroes game
@@carabus0354 more likely from warthunder(tank crew) and the other more likely not from company heroes but like men of war or similar game.
Edit: Because Company Heroes game does not use other language. They only use english.

In less than 10 minutes you've captured the essence of that intense action and desperation.
I love how contrasted both sides are at this point of the war. The US forces here already have gone through so much fighting. Most likely having been veterans of battles in North Africa, Italy, Normandy and now they're in Germany. They're so effective in taking out the enemy, clearing streets and rooms with almost relative ease and applying a more tactical approach. I love how you've shown the overwhelming firepower they also possess in the forms of sheer volume of automatic fire and the use of those Sherman tanks to hammer away MG42 nests.
Then on the other side are the Germans, still clinging on to whatever street corner and building they can, having to use the Volksturm Militia to fill in their ranks and fighting til the last holdout is silenced but still fighting just as ferociously til the bitter end. It's no wonder they call Aachen the American version of Stalingrad.

These machinimas are as gripping as any movie, can't look away from them for a second.
The reason why i love this channel is because they are not afraid to show America get their asses kicked by their opponents and show that they are not always at their best. Just realism of what really happened.

Your attention to detail, your storytelling, camera angles, animations, sounds looks and feel that it was produced by a team of highly skilled individuals. The weapon looking like AK47 is the famous STG44. The first assault rifle produced by Germany during the WW2.

You know if you ever run out of ideas. I always wondered if you could recreate cod 2 and 3 missions in arma 3 but cinematic. That would be sick seeing the cod 2 mission si-lo or the British mission brigade box. Cod 3 had some cool Canadian and polish missions aswell. Just food for thought
