So I find that reading books really helps with my mental health, they help me feel really calm if my anxiety is really bad, I don't know about anyone else, but I get that exact same feeling whenever I watch one of Lexi's videos. Always look forward to the next one.
So agree 🥰🥰🥰
🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️ this comment has made me feel so emotional as someone who also struggles with really bad anxiety. Thank you so much for giving me the honor of being a tiny part of your life my friend❤️❤️
😏
I love how more of your personality & humor came out in this video! 🥰
Aw thanks Liv! 😊
Your book hauls are always a blast to watch! You have such a fun personality that shines though in each of your videos :) Love that Little Women cover 💜. Enjoy your new books!!
Is there a magical realism blog coming our way? It’s a big goal of mine to read 100 years of solitude and something from Isabel Allende this year!☺️
…..maybe…👀
Great book haul! Keep in mind that Fitzgerald and Zelda were both sufferers of manic depression and alcoholics as well. Yeah. They were both off their rockers so they found each other and from that perspective it was a perfect match. That Hemingway is lovely. What edition is that? OMG those Iris Murdochs are gorgeous! Where did you get such beautiful editions?!?
I love that you love the Great Gatsby!! I named my dog Gatsby because i love that book so much.
Hi Lexi, Sometimes even I feel that being in a relationship with a book is better than humans... You go through every thick and thin together, it's like growing up as the book grows further in the plot. Also loved your selection for the year. 😊
I couldn’t agree more! 🥺❤️
I loved the Virgin Suicides film so much when it came out, and read the book after watching it. The book really holds up and is beautifully written.
Another Eugenides book you might really enjoy is THE MARRIAGE PLOT. It’s so fabulous!!
WE 👏🏻 LOVE 👏🏻 BOOKHAULS 👏🏻
Ok what is that edition of Little Women! Its one of my favorite books from when I was a kid! 😍
I had fallen into a little reading slump, and literally just seeing your intro made me so happy and excited for reading. i don’t know how you do it but thank you😭💓
My Year of Rest and Relaxation is hilarious. She gets a shrink that is just a complete outrage. You will be jaw dropped on many, many pages.
alexandra chanting jo amy beth trying to remember the name of the 4th sister when her names literally on the front cover!! haha Loved this book haul sm
The best part about the Little Women name struggle… is their names are on the cover 😂
Have you read “The House in the Cerulean Sea”? One of my all time favorites. Such a heartwarming book, it’s like a hug. ❤️
Have you ever read Everything She Thought She Wanted by Elizabeth Buchan? It goes back n fourth between 2 stories of middle aged women in the late 50's and the 90's. One women has an affair with someone much younger than her, while the other struggles to have a conversation with her husband about not wanting to have children. This book shows the ins-and-outs of the problems and expectations that women face from 2 different time periods. Also I didn't realize it was Women's History Month, and it makes me happy that I chose this book to read now, so I can reflect on how far we've come and the problems we still see today :)) Glad I found your channel btw! I will be subscribing :)
“The Sun Also Rises” is loosely based on Hemingway’s life. It would be great to pair with “The Paris Wife” by Paula McLain which is a historical fiction based on Hemingway’s first marriage. All of the events actually happened and are true to their lives, but of course the dialogue is fiction. Hemingway is actually writing “The Sun Also Rises” during the action in the book.
The atmosphere in Witches of New York is *chef’s kiss* based on your autumn/Halloween videos I think you’ll really enjoy it 😊 Also, The Sea, The Sea is one of my favorite novels ever
Lily King is one of my favorite authors and I think Euphoria is her best book. So glad you picked it up! It’s underrated!
230 and I'm getting closer and closer and closer and closer... I wonder how close I'll get by tonight. Will I finish the videos today, or will it be tomorrow? I don't think I will finish after tomorrow because I can watch a lot in a day, and I only had 70 to watch a while ago. Can't wait!! CANNOT WAIT AT ALL!! I wish I could watch these faster. LOL
I have too many books on Audible and physically that I need to get through before I buy other books, but once I'm closer to having most books read or listened to, I will buy more books. I need to save so much money for everything I need to get... I think I have a couple of memoirs ready to listen to. I might just decide to listen to them in California. Hoping to be able to listen to a lot of audiobooks there. I don't know yet what I'll be doing there, but I can't do too much since I can't walk for long. Nowhere will I find seats to sit on, no a regular basis. LOL
I love that many of these books are not super popular here on BookTube! You made them sound really interesting, definitely adding a few to my TBR.
I love how you couldn't remember the names of the 4 March sisters when it's literally written in huge letters on the cover 😂
Lol lol roast me 😩
So happy you're getting more into literary fiction ! I recently "discovered" the genre through bookstagram and started with Luster which I really enjoyed :) Did a big babitz and moshfegh haul after that 🤩 Hope you enjoy your new books !
Omg Romane we always have similar book tastes at the same time!! I love it hahah. I hope we both love Babitz and Moshfegh!!
Hi Lexi! I discovered your channel in February and haven't stopped watching ever since. I just want to say a big thank you to you for inspiring me to get back into reading! The positivity you radiate in your videos always leaves me feeling enthusiastic about life and immersing myself into different stories. You are a true gem ❤️😉
Aw this is so sweet thank you so much!!!
I absolutely loved Witches of New York. I went through a witchy fiction kick a few years ago and A Secret History of Witches was another good one! 😉
I think I might have that one!!!
Wintering is absolutely wonderful! Beautifully written, and it reminded me of the magic of winter (I live in Michigan and our winters are brutal sooo that's saying something). I also have a little bit of SAD and it really helped me look at winter in a more positive way. Each section is divided into winter months so I read each chapter during the month that corresponded with the book and that was a fun way to read it. Highly recommend! Ghosts is great, and also very well written (and relatable to modern dating). Untamed was a DNF for me sadly (it just felt very scattered and I didn't connect with it). Already ordered Conversations on Love based on this video! Sounds very good!😉
I was just watching one of your old book hauls when I got this notification 😂
Hey My Year of Rest and Relaxation was my life. I didn't take sleeping pills, but could barely function after I lost both my parents. Just coming out of the other side now.
As always love your video Alexandra ❤️😉.
Really enjoyed early morning riser!! Very sweet book. My year of rest and relaxation was great as well!
I need to read Little Woman so much.
Ive had the Virgin Suicides on my tbr for a while now, love that edition
Another amazing video 👌🏻 😉
Your videos always give me such joy.
Thank you Sydney 🥺❤️
So many good recommendations! I'm excited for this reading month 📚 😉
I just picked up The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles, & Woman on Fire by Lisa Bar (I'm going to be blindly reading these). I blindly read The Spanish Daughter a few months ago & I enjoyed it. It's a Historical Fiction/Thriller.
Lexiiii!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo glad to have you come back!!! Remember me? Seems like my wish for your channel hitting million subscribers will come true by the end of THIS YEAR....
You’re so sweet 🥺❤️
I just adore your videos. So cozy and simply make me happy.
😉
Thank you🥺❤️
Amazing stacks of books. 😁📚📚📚 They sound like good reads.
Thanks Christine!! 😊❤️
Thanks for sharing all those wonderful books they sound great!
😉
I really like the vibe and the editing of this video! So calming and chill 😎
Thank you!! 😊❤️
The Witches of New York was one of my favorite books read last year 😍
I'm currently reading "The People We Keep" and I am so in love 😉 However, I can't decide if I want to read "Eliza and her monsters" or "We Are Okay" next.
The Witches of New York is one of my fav books of all time. If you like it there is a prequel about Adelaide and a Yule novella called Half Spent was the Night.
omg "The nest" was amazing!! Another great vid lex!
Thank youuu 🥺❤️
Thank you for sharing! 😉
I love your book hauls so much!!!!
Great haul! You are so much fun. Insert winky face here.
This haul is FULL of goodies 😍😍😍
😉 Untamed has been on my list for a long time. Decided to go ahead and grab it from thrift books and will definitely read it soon.
I'm on same boat as you about stickers on cover of book! Drives me crazy!!!
I really enjoyed Luster it was a book I just chose to read randomly, no regrets. Hope you enjoy it too!
Oh yay!!!!
😉 just added so many books to my TBR 😬
I just finished Untamed after several friends recommended it to me. I knew very little about Doyle when I read it and was doing a lot of googling throughout - looking back, I think a little insight to her is good going into the book. Untamed is her 3rd memoir after being a popular blogger. She also has a podcast now and has done at least one TED talk. She writes about shame and living authentically. There are polarized views on her work including Untamed. I had a hard time reviewing it on GR because I feel a bit polarized on where I land with it. Which, let's be honest - is a sign of a good read. I think there's a lot to talk about with it - enjoy!
Oh that’s so interesting thank you so much for sharing that Stefanie!!
I've been waiting for this day (and video 🤣) to happen! Time to start watching! 🤩
Little Women is my ALL.TIME. FAVE. ❤️
Omg I love how you described milk fed. I need the book now 😉
😉 just because. I love watching book hauls as I have not had a good on myself in a minute.
Whipping out my libby app to check the availability of any and all books Lexi is excited about 😅
I know you said you don’t buy books by cover but The Last Cuentista is so gorgeous. It is a middle grade and was so so for me as far as the story. But the book is so pretty I will keep it around for that reason alone!
I’m so excited for the Paris apartment 👀
Lol when the names are on the front of the book.
hi Lexi, where did you buy that edition of Little Women? :D looks really pretty
I got it from Barnes and Noble and I believe the edition is from Vintage Classics!!
Such a fun time! Love your videos - they always bring a smile to my face and inspire my reading ventures (😉) Sending lots of hugs.
Aw thank you!! Hugs right back 😊❤️
Gingerbread was super weird but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Awesome! Hope you enjoyed your break. Glad to see ya back! You are so timely! I just said, “Ok it’s been like 2 weeks. Where’s Lexi?” 😂
so many pretty books 😉
Great haul - I will have to check out Wintering 😉
Okay I’ve had Gingerbread on my TBR since the beginning of time. 👀
I’ve been wanting to read A Year of Rest & Relaxation as well!
I just bought Euphoria last week at a used bookstore. I had never heard of it, but it was in the historical fiction section and it sounded pretty saucy.
Verrryyy saucy 👀 I hope we like it!!
I know I'm one month away from going to America, but I've made a rough list of what books I want to buy at Barnes and Noble. I'm not planning on getting all of them, it depends on what's there but I am so excited 😍❤
Love your personality! Would love for you to check out The Wager by CM Neff historical romance.
Just finished The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman. Absolutely loved! I am on to reading The One by John Marrs and really looking forward to it. Hope you are well. I love your videos and look forward to them each week. 😉
Thank you Sammi ❤️❤️
Lexi, I LOVEDDDD Ghosts! I'm excited to hear what you think about it!
Omg really?? Ok it just got moved up the priority list thank you!!!
All the books you got are beautiful! 😍
Okay a funny... I love to read have literally read thousands of books. It took me 13 years to finish reading Little Women. Don't ask me why but I love The Inheritance by Louisa May Alcott
Lexi: Jo, Amy, Beth
Me: It's on the front cover !!!!!
Omg I saw that when I was editing and I was like “you literal idiot…” 😭😭😭
So many amazing recommendations 😉
😉 loved the book haul, Alexandra! So many awesome books to look forward to! please may I know where you’ve bought that amazing hat?
Aw thank you!! And I bought it from Earthbound a few years ago!! :)
😉😉😉😉😉😉wonderful selections! My list is now huge!
This list sounds amazing 😉 thank you 🥰
“I’ve got the first stack of books right here” went from a. English, Scottish to Australian accent all in one go. Lol #talent.
As a proud Irish-American☘️🇮🇪, I believe the pronunciation of "Foley" is foal-lee not folly!
Oh thank you for telling me!!
😉 I can't wait to read Violeta too!
I was just wondering where you were and BOOM! 😁
❤️❤️
i also loved the movie the virgin suicides! i want to read it and i also want to read the princess bride since i loved that movie growing up too haha
That Little Woman cover I have as a shirt. Got it from Out of Print
Ooooo I’ll have to check that out!
😉 I just finished “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. It’s 213 pages and I think you will enjoy it!
😉 Please pick up Until We Meet Again by Renee Collins! 5 star romance read for me!
You make me laugh so hard... When you said that you emulate Cher in everything but with books... The obvious relation that my mind made was..."so she is gonna end up with Garvin, from how train your Garvin" and the mental image of the both of you searching babies between books was hilarious 😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha love this!
Don't know if anyone else suggested this, but if you use rubbing alcohol (preferably on Qtips) after removing stickers, it'll be like the sticker was never there and it won't hurt the book.
Ooooo thank you I’ll try this!!
Will you be making a video of what you have read recently? I miss those! 😉
Yes!!! I’m planning on one in a few weeks!!
I’m currently reading The Beautiful and Damned! It’s good so far.😉
Hello! I am a very big fan of yours and your video content! I just bought Untamed per your recommendation. Have a beautiful day! 🍷☕️📚
Aw thank you Mariana!! I hope you have a beautiful day as well❤️❤️❤️
violeta was so good! "all you regret in the end, is the sins you didn't commit!"
OOOOOO I love that quote!! 😍😍
Yeeeeee! I've missed you! Hope you're doing well :)
I hope you’re doing well too!!
Love this! When you read Witches of New York can you tell us what you think?!? Its been on my radar for months!
Yes I will for sure!! I might save it for the fall?? I’m not sure I kinda want to read it now lol
Thank you for all the hard work you do to make these videos - Watching you makes me so happy :-D
😉 that was a large book haul!!
😉 Love your videos! So jealous of you! Wish I had more time to read! I only started reading for fun about 7 years ago, so I have a lot to catch up on! One of my favorites that got me into reading was The Murder House by James Patterson. Have you read it?
You must read Mary Jane by Jessica Anya Blau. I really enjoyed her characters and it was actually my best read of 2021. I loved it better than Daisy Jones.
