Newsstand was on iOS 7. It came out with iOS 5 and was more of a folder than a real “app”. iOS 7 was the first version that allowed you to put newsstand in a folder without a jailbreak.
@Clyde and Oreo Memes and Games. it was originaly just a folder on your homescreen with a special theme. In ios 7 and up, It was a app that could be placed in a folder because it itself was no longer a folder.
The reason that slide to unlock takes a while to appear is due to touch id. Touch ID is not enabled on that iOS 8 iPhone 6 you demonstrated.
Other Tips That iClassic Forgot(just in case)
1. The iPhone 6 Box Changed From 2014 To 2015. If You’re Looking For An iPhone 6 That’s Guaranteed To Have iOS 8,Go With The One With The Box That Has No Picture Of The Phone. 2015 Refreshed The 6’s Box And Gave It A Picture Of The Phone.
2. If Your Looking For A Phone iOS 10 Or Older,Please Look Closely At The Font. iOS 7 To 11 Has Extremely Thin Font While 12 Changed The Font To A More Bold Style.
3. The 4 And The 4s Look Very Similar. But There’s A Trick Into Knowing If You Have A 4 Or A 4s. If Not Shown On The Pictures,Ask The Seller To Take A Photo Of The Top Of The Phone. If It Has A Line,Then It’s The iPhone 4. If Not,It’s A 4s.
4. Sure,iClassic Mentioned iOS 7 To 10 Wallpapers But What About Those Who Are Looking For iOS 11 Or 12? 11’s Wallpaper Is An Aerial View Of A Beach. 12’s Wallpaper Is A Hue Of Turquoise Green,Blue And Light Res Mixing In The Middle. 13’s Wallpaper Is Just A Bunch Of Red And Orange Bubbles And 14’s Wallpaper Is Just 3 Triangular Sections. (Keep in mind 13’s And 14’s wallpaper Come in different colors.)

Regarding tip 3, while that is true in most cases, the iPhone 4 CDSM model doesn't have a line on the top, similar to the iPhone 4s.

I’m always on eBay looking for older iPhones with close to original OS. Luckily I’ve been studying on them so I can tell by the OS. By far some of the hardest to find (in my opinion) is an iPhone X on iOS 11 and a 7 on iOS 10.
Doesn’t iOS 10 setup have the thin font instead of the thick font we get from iOS 11+?
@@hatsonchickens I feel like I remember that. The easiest way to tell is the iTunes and App Store. They got super redesigned in iOS 11.
The camera app on iOS 7 - iOS 10 also has two horizontal lines on it, whereas iOS 11+ does not. Forgot to mention that in my video haha
I had a iPhone x with iOS 11 BC I broke it and didn't go onto it until I got it fixed and update it to iOS 15 now it's iOS 16 pfc

Very interesting video! Important fact: if all you have is a picture of the lock screen, the default wallpaper may not necessarily indicate the iOS version especially if the people kept the old wallpaper after updating.

One thing you should mention is that the Apple TV app in iOS 10 is not available in all regions. I live Norway and here we did not get Apple TV in iOS 10, and had to live with the old video app instead.

I use a silver 2017 SE 128GB I have bought refurbished, 2 years warranty. I have paid 110 €. :) My girls use Pink Gold 32 gb SE as well. $300 in total, I think it's pretty amazing. The are still fast smartphones.

i managed to found an iphone 6 plus on ios 8 in near mint condition for $40 because it had a broken touch screen. i was able to tell because the “a” on ios 8 has a little swoop at the end

you can also see the diffrence between ios7 and ios7.1 its the slide to unlock on ios7 the slide to unlock is delyd on ios7.1 it shows up in an instant i know that cuase my iphone 4 slide to unlock is alredy there when i power it on
Newsstand app was also on iOS 7, in fact, it’s a pretty old app
I mostly love the iphone 5s gold and the 6s (activation error).
Fun fact or maybe not so fun fact actually ios 6.0 beta 1 and I think a few others had the youtube app still as in some beta videos you can see it still there

I have 2 iPhone SEs 16GB Silver. One on iOS 9.3.1. The other one on 10.2. Both come with original box and accessories, the iOS 9 has had the lightning cable unwrapped tho. I’ve been tryna sell them for a while.

Hello iClassic, I have a quick question for you. Do you have any iPhone 5 or 5s models on iOS 8.0-8.3? Because I have a couple of these, and they both constantly freeze up and hang. My iPhone 5 on iOS 7 and another on iOS 10 do not have the same issues, just wondering if you had the same experience with iOS 8.
Its normal if they freeze, the fix is going on settings, general, reset and reset all settings. Dont enable localization services either, maybe even take out ur sim card.

I find it funny how most RUclipsrs claim to be Apple users mostly & “been using them their whole life” type thing but say they started with a 6 or 8 like seriously my first iPhone was the 3GS haha

Go to the settings and check what ios is runing on it tadaaa so easy to tell 😅
7:44 it doesnt appear instantly... BECAUSE YOU HAVE TOUCH ID SET UP. Nothing to do with iOS version actually lol. I have a 5 on 7.0.4, swipe to unlock appears instantly because the device doesnt have touch id.
Also, overall, why only iOS 5+? Would like to see more about iPhoneOS 1-3 and iOS 4 too.
The easiest way
To tell if it’s iOS 16/17 is looking at the Home Screen and look at the time if it’s bold then your on iOS 16 or up

Cares about the fonts? That awful red and blue wallpaper says all. It was the most ugly version and after ios9 Apple abandoned almost every wallpaper on ios9 to erase it from people’s memory, except that red and blue wallpaper .
did anyone notice that the first 5s in the lot of 3 is on iOS 10? its because the cell signal is displayed as circles and i belive that stopped in iOS 11 and up

Its only the 6s, 6s plus, and se that cant activate on ios 9. So its a yes to ur question.
For iOS 10: The TV app is US only
But yeah, you can also recognize iOS 10 by the Lockscreen and/or iTunes/AppStore icon.
Pretty sure we have it in Canada as well
I live in the UK, when iOS 10 was the latest iOS at the time, I had an iPhone 5c then with the TV app and I was able to use it fine

Another good way of identifying iOS 7-9 is the font. If the letter a has a swoosh on it, then it is either iOS 7 or iOS 8. If it doesn’t, then it’s iOS 9.

I bought a new 6s in 2019 and it ran iOS 13. The phone was literally manufactured a few months before I bought it so it was a newer late model of the 6s. It runs on iOS 15 now since it auto updated, I do have another 6s though I bought used 2 years after as a spare device and runs iOS 13, won’t be updating that
