      @@Sht855 I drove the Lexus and Merc back to back and Lexus is a 7/10 versus Merc 10/10 in comfort, opulent interior, air suspension, smooth shifter, quietness. The Lexus felt cheap japanese. You're welcome! My family owned an S-Class for over 2 years. It was a used 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 4MATIC, we were so fortunate to be able to find it for sale in like new condition at an affordable price.
      We bought it on April 2016 from Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in East Brunswick, New Jersey where my Dad worked at the time (General Manager). Because the S550 happened to be sold at the same place my dad worked, we got a big discount on the car.
      And so, we owned it and thoroughly enjoyed it. We even took it on a trip from Old Bridge, New Jersey, which is where I live to Montreal, Canada and back of course. It was running like a champ for two years until the engine started needing repairs that would've been too expensive.
      We eventually switched to a brand new vehicle, a GMC Acadia Denali 4WD.

    You guys look like you were born to drive this car. Outstanding review as always. And although I have been on the fence about purchasing this model..this review has made me make an appointment to test drive this model. One thing that surprised me is that I thought the Warmth & Comfort Package included rear seat heat & ventilation controls in the rear center console storage area you showed at 20:05. That really should be standard in a car in this price range but Mercedes Benz..like Porsche..doesn't like to give any options for free..lol. Thanks again guys for another excellent review and convincing me to finally test drive this beauty. Stay well! 😉👍

  • @Yoadrieen
    @Yoadrieen Месяц назад

    I bought it used 1 owner before me no damage. Best ride and interior. Beware of the maintenance of course but easily manageable if you take care of it. $800-$1500 maintenance a year. only time I take to shop if I’m lazy to do my own oil change or electric issues. Car has 3 batteries, rims crack easy due to the suspension, brakes are dusty due to size and you’re suppose to replace everything with Mercedes brand which cost way more. She’s a keeper.

I am still thinking of buying an S Class. It is 2021 but I will go for the 2019 as I like the dash and rear light cluster. Driving E Class 2017 at present.

    Still the Grand Dame of Premium luxury sedans, although with the introduction of the large premium SUVs, I wonder how long it will still be relevant in the US.

    Absolute, total, unequivocal deal breaker: column-mounted gear shifter. SO STUPID AND NON-SPORTY. Why, WHY does Mercedes insist on putting the gear shifter on the column in almost all of their cars like a 1990s pickup truck?? Yes, it saves a little bit of space on the center console area, but it’s so non-sporty and ugly! That’s the reason I refuse to buy or lease a new Mercedes. Gear shifters nowadays take up very little room on the center console. I just can’t stand it.

    • @kevin9c1
      @kevin9c1 Год назад

      Actually the final result is far superior to a console shifter. The interface area where your hand rests can use the COMAND knob, the various buttons and the volume roller. Or, if your hand is on the wheel then you can shift without even removing it. This shifter has been around since the mid-2000s on Mercedes. It's a feature, not a bug.
