I use the sound muffler mod and I found music discs playing nearby. No clue where or how they are playing, but i just mute the music discs and all is good
never thought about it before but 631FE/tick with all beginner resources, for a surprisingly small amount of fuel, is a pretty darn good starting power setup.
It's doubtful that he finishes it. Last time he was going strong, then his own pack released, and we've never heard from it again. Might also be why he is going fast, he wants to finish it this time before another pack gets his attention span.
Na you can tell those apart because the sound is directional and fades with distance. I’ve been playing the pack and there is just random music that stops after 10 seconds every so often.
Can you adjust the fuel rods from the top of the reactor, which you can use to limit power gen and fuel usage even more? If so, then adjust it so the reactor produces just over what you actually need. that should reduce fuel usage by at least half, maybe more. just until you get more power hungry things.
So I know Dire is probably a few episodes ahead but the best way for flight I found was using the pylon with potion infuser with flight. You only need like 7 or 8 flight potions which are not hard. Permanent creative flight no power.
DW zooming episode 5 and already getting into AE. S14 was episode 19 and S13 was episode 6. 5:10 that is backpack with music player upgrade in it, a rare spawn, the backpack (always drops?) i think. the music stops when the enemy despawns. always very loud and jump scares me. 1 ingot will last almost 31 mins at the current burn rate. 0.027 * 20 = 0.54 mb/second, there are 1000 mb per ingot, so 1000 / 0.54 = ~1851 (takes that long to burn through the entire ingot). 1851 / 60 = 30.85 mins. reactors are kinda op lol but it's fine.
@@theeutecticpointif you progress, they can be powerful late game too. I have one reactor (7x7 or 9x9) and 2 turbines making 8.6 million RF per tick on the DW20 1 21 pack. Requires Insanite Blocks to get that crazy.
mekanism power gen is always op. everyone likes to say it's nerfed, but it's not. they don't realize the gas-burning genny doesn't put out peak power unless the internal reservoir of ethene is full. i tested it, and it still generates 29.69k rf/t in atm10. that's plenty, considering how easy it is to make them, and you can have multiple of them very very quickly in the early game if you want to.
True, but then you would have to automate the insertion of the control to the amount of power being used. It's far easier to control the amount of FE being stored in the reactor and turn it off and on depending on that, since it only requires some redstone and a slightly larger reactor since you need a second redstone reactor block.
@I agree with you in the “long” term. I just meant that while he was messing around with other stuff, the control rod would be a quick short term fix. Dire tends to get distracted and who knows if he’ll actually get things automated in the next episode (or 2 or 3)
Looking forward to creative flight in the infusion? pylon from pylons. Considering all you need for it is netherite and chorus fruit (enderman data model) then you can achieve it stupidly fast.
Hey Dire! I really hope you will look into ExtendedAE and AdvancedAE soon, they are crazy powerful and make certain items accessible already rather fast, including several fold faster processor crafting
@Zacrules2010 wasn't his last series 1.20.1? I didn't have time to check them. Just that extended has changed bit since 1.20 and not sure if new changes were backported already. And advancedAE literally just recently got released to 1.20, it was 1.21 exclusive long time
@@loff_xdd I don't know what you looked at, but his last series was 1.21.1. Maybe you mean his last ATM series? In that case I'm pretty sure it was 1.20.
I mean, eventually you just HAVE to expand unless you're thinking more along the lines of something like "compact madness", which fine, but that's just a totally separate challenge
4000mb divided by .027 mb/t, then divide 20 tics/sec, then divide 60 seconds/minute, then divide by 60 minutes per hour, leaves about 2 hours of burn time.
Someone has probably said this already, but can't yo just pull out the rods to like 20% to just generate a tiny amount of energy for even less fuel, if the main goal is to keep the AE going, and you will have a buffer of 270k + whats in the cables for the furnace
AE2 looks so intimidating to me I've never used it, yet everyone keeps singing its praises. Guess I should give it a genuine try. This gentleman made it look so easy.
Quite the contrary. It might be because of my background, but i always love the way AE2 can be molded into many different configurations. It's quite intuitive once you know which does what, and the extension mods only add more utility.
Maybe this isn’t an issue for you, but every time I do an ATM playthrough, Refined Storage and even AE storage will eventually have the same issue where my stuff will disappear and won’t consistently stay in there afterwards. It still exists, but just fails to load and can’t be used. It’s mad frustrating and always kills the ATM phase for me- I’m wondering if you or anyone else has ever had issues like this and had any advice to prevent it? Would definitely be appreciated.
So. if it burns 0.027mb/t it should take about 37 ticks to burn 1mb. if 1000mb = 1 ingot, then it would take about 37,000 ticks to burn 1 ingot. 37,000/20 is 1850 seconds or almost 31 minutes to burn a single ingot. I don't know how you got 52 seconds. Reverse the math 52 seconds x 20 = 1040 tics. 1040 ticks x 0.027 mb/t only would only be about 28mb.
Don't bother wasting power on Growth Accelerators. Crystal Resonance Generators are free power from one of the AE2 addons and they provide exactly what a Growth Accelerator needs. Four Flawless Quartz around one GA with a CRG on top and you'll be swimming in Crystals.
I saw the last ATM let's play, and didn't like it, so I assumed I didn't like ATM, but now I'm enjoying this series, so I guess it was just the skyblock part.
@29:45 Ask copilot: "If a "tick" is equivalent to 1/20th of a second. And a "bucket" of fuel is used at the rate of .027 millibuckets per tick, how long will a bucket of fuel last?" It comes back with "approximately 1851.85 seconds".

I love how Dire's b-lining is still leisurely
The dire speedrun ends 5 min faster than a standard run 😂
I think this is as fast as he can go. He's limited by his lack of knowledge about vanilla and mods he hasn't been using for 4+ years.
To be fair he took until episode 15 to build the basement in the letsplay lol. and AE wasn't till 19-20
Tbh he always rushes never is leisurely. My 77 year old father who only plays Minecraft stopped watching him years ago.
I dont know if I agree with the “Go fast” crowd. I learn a lot watching your stuff. But it would be nice to see you complete an ATM series. 😅

@@MarijnRoorda At least we won't see his pack again until next year, oh wait LMAO
When dire said he was moving fast. Omg. This is awesome
For AE, make a crystal resonance generator, it's great for early game AE power. Just generates a tiny bit of power on it's own for AE specifically.

Your math is not close to correct. Basically, it burns through a single ingot in about 30-ish minutes.
He made the calculation way harder than it needed to be. 1000/0.027 means an ingot will last 37,037 ticks. Or 1,851.85 seconds. Or 30.86 minutes.
I mean, it only hurts his psyche. Could just be relieved that a single ingot lasts half an hour but no, classic direderp 🤣
@sadmate_ to be fair, the last times he used that mod, he needed as much cyanite as possible
I also don't quite understand how he managed to get 52 from 39000 / 20 xD
