As a Locksmith, we keep a hidden key for our vehicles on them but it's just a blade. So it wouldn't start them anyways. Plus if you don't know where your key is guess you'll have to make a transponder key and program it before you call for help.
My first new vehicle (1988) came with a credit card sized plastic emergency keys (door and ignition). They were designed to be used a couple of times until you retrieved your keys or had new ones made. Although a lady I have always carried a wallet in my pocket. (Purses are junk magnets.) I keep needed spare keys in my wallet.
Great tips PJ, I would not have guessed that the pouch would fit them all; that is surprising and great to know and it’s a bonus that it also blocks signals. Kind of obvious tip about the prox key but always good to restate it. Thanks for another great #lockboss video!
Great tips, PJ! I have a couple of the RF signal-blocking pouches that I use with my programmers - no more placing a prox outside of the vehicle and hoping it's signal doesn't interfere with the one I'm trying to add! #AccessLockKeyLLC #HaulinBrass #LockBoss
Great video as always!! Haha I’ve never liked these- I always felt like they are more of a liability! I have played with other attachments and magnetic options! These boxes aren’t secure when shut and a lot can happen on the bottom or inside of car body! Love the pouch- except I want some serious Velcro! Just my 2 cents 👨🏼🏭 #lockboss #trustedeagle
Great informational on the different types of hide-a-keys PJ. Nothing wrong with my wallet. Always keep an entry key in it. People know about hide-a-keys and if their looking to be malicious they will look for one and if they find it not only might the drive away with your vehicles, but the will deal anything they can use or sell. Thank you for the time you take to educate us with every video y ou put out. #lockboss
I personally use a flip key blade in my wallet for emergencies. Then a place that works well to high is under the rear seat where the carpet meet the cargo area.
These Signal Blocking Key Hiders would be really useful for key programming multiple keys when only one key is supposed to be inside the vehicle at a time for programming. Slip the other(s) in the signal blocking sleeve(s) instead of removing the battery or taking it out and away from the vehicle, which are pretty inconvenient methods compared to just popping any extra keys in an RF blocking sleeve. That's #Lockboss level auto locksmithing right there! I'm going to have to pick up at least a couple of these from you guys here soon...
Take the battery out and use a zip tie on key...there are hole loops and many places to put under car. Put the battery inside car wrapped in electrical tape so doesn't discharge accidentally.
I love the signal blocking pouches, BUT REMEMBER to put the key in the second rear flap or it does not hide the signals = oops! (I sometimes move it to front part of pouch so It will retain the key FOB in my pocket, but let me operate the vehicle) I DON'T use it to actually hide a key on any vehicle, but just use it always when I'm away from my vehicle (or at home with vehicle in the garage) to prevent relay attacks and my car possibly getting stolen -- be a wise #lockboss
Good Stuff . My Truck Is So Old It's Just A Brass key So I Just Cut Part Of The Bow Off And it Fits In The Reg. Size Box. I Have It Hidden In A Place Nobody Would Look For It Or Ever Find it. : > )
I love the signal blocking velcro pouch. Not only is it great for hiding a key it can also be used to protect your credit cards. I won a box awhile back on the live giveaway and just ordered another one. #Lockboss
I use metal clips to secure a metal key or blade under the car etc. Usually off a fuel line is good. Zip ties work well to..but you would probably forget your pocketknife that day..lol I agree with not hiding a key that could start the vehicle. Fatal mistake! #lockboss
For as much snow, mud, and of road driving that we do around here they have never really worked. By the time some one needed to use it it was already missing. Prime example is the land where city puts the snow, go there metal detecting in spring and always see 4-5 hide-a-keys. #Lockboss
Before I use to tell customers to hide key behind license plate. Now because transponders I recommend to cut just a metal key just to open doors and some cases the trunk. #locksboss
Always been leary of electronic keys being used as a spare in hide a key. Mainly concerned with battery and if temperature extremes messing with it. And if it comes loose you're out potentially hundreds of dollars. #Lockboss

Great information, had not thought about this issue, for prox keys. Will have to start stocking the rf pouch. #lockboss.

Great information. I am like you with prox and transponder keys. If hiding them in the vehicle with a signal blocking pouch. Thanks PJ. #LockBoss
Great info #lockboss thanks
Like the bag too, especially where it’s rfid blocking. Was gonna mention the prox key too. #LockBoss
Great information. Thanks PJ! #Lockboss
Great points. It's not like the good old days when you just had one nice small flat key or maybe two if you drove a Chevy.

Great info! You really are a #lockboss 😎
You need to start doing videos like this one for the consumer...i.e. general info but aimed at the consumer.
#LockBoss. Great information
Good stuff. I would keep a small waterproof box screwed in under the hood or hidden in the trunk then kept a trunk key in wallet
Take the battery out and use a zip tie on key...there are hole loops and many places to put under car. Put the battery inside car wrapped in electrical tape so doesn't discharge accidentally.
Great video. The emergency key or key blade is definitely a better idea than the prox key. Good to know the hide a key sizes. #lockboss
Pouch for the win, #Lockboss
Good tip #lockboss
Good info # lockboss
Great video good content #lockboss
liked your video as always. I think I would go with the pouch for the hide a key.#lockboss
great video #lockboss
Not a huge fan of hide a keys myself, but I am a huge fan of adding info to my #lockboss mental tool belt.

I haven’t used a “hide a key” in years. Eastern Oklahoma #LockBoss
Thanks for the video on magnetic key boxes. I like the key pouch tho. James estep locksmith co. #lockboss#lockboss
A true #lockboss wouldn’t use a hide a key. They’d just make a new one on the spot!🤣
#Lockboss key hider finder, way to go for all us fans
Unfortunately the Luky Line signal blocking key pouch does not work on 902mhz. Check my video at ruclips.net/video/dbpiT5JH0Kw/видео.html
#lockboss
I all ways use a zip tie.... them boxes useley falls off on Oklahoma roads... I would find them all the time doing community service #lockboss
Great video PJ! With the modern keys I currently use hide-a-keys just aren’t an option. #LockBoss
Signal Blocking pouch I don’t think would be waterproof, could be an expensive mistake with a proximity key. #Lockboss

I usually give customers the test key if I cut one and offer a hideakey. It may help them out if they lock their keys in the car. #LockBoss
Love the outtakes. And viewers think it's so fucking easy
😂-PJ
I have a frequent flier who has been intending to get a metal key to hide but hasn't done it yet. #lockboss
I keep being surprised by key sizes #lockboss
I don’t think I’ve ever recommended one of those for a client. They may work for someone. To each, their own. #lockboss
Yea I wouldn't either, just for the reason they may not need my services after that. Unless of course it was to fall off. #Lockboss
A little duct tape is good!!
#lockboss
I try to get the customer to buy a metal key that will just open the door to be used as a hid a key or a billfold key #Lockboss
Not a fan of the hide a keys. #Lockboss
#lockboss
I think Heidi keys are a complete waste of time anymore with new technologies it too easy to get a key #lockboss
