This pair of calipers had a bad habit of skipping when I inherited them. I tightened up the mechanism and it was 180 degrees off, so I ran with it. I have thought about straightening it back out, now I'm used to it!!!
I need ton talk to you about a set of those templates only for OM Martin bracing layout. Do me a favor and don't do what Chris does when letting the braces into the sides. Please blind cut them in. Check out Josh House guitars.
I'm planning to let the x-braces in by marking and cutting to a known depth. I'll use the template to lay them out, then I will probably use a small router to set the depth of the notch. I'll look up Josh's method and see how he does it.
great work man! and fun to watch! makes me miss the old days! :)
Thanks Randy! I'm having a ball building these babies.
Now I see! I have never seen anyone set up dial calipers with 0 on the bottom. Works either way just different.

Lol, coincidence, in the video I'm editing right now I made a reference to boogers under a desk.
LOL! Yes, I made the dish on the CNC. Took about 20 minutes.
Did you make the dish jig on your CNC?
Standard Is there a Martin Dred bracing file out there for public use? I am trying to get my buddy with a laser to make me some templates
