  • Shrimp and veg on vermicelli (glass noodles)
This was a completely on the fly video to make and is probably the most natural video I have ever made. There was absolutely ZERO planning that went into this just clamped a camera above the stove and went for it. If you like this one and want more natural style unplanned videos let me know!
This delicious dish takes about 30 min to make from frozen ingredients and is sure to please. To make for 4 people just double everything. It is also an amazingly affordable dish to make with the total cost for 2 people only being about $10 CAD.
Everything below is approximate and not 100% accurate. Since I did this naturally I didn't really plan my cooking so I honestly eye balled everything.
    Ingredients:
    4 Tbsp - Soy sauce
    1 Tbsp - Oyster sauce
    Handful - Broccoli
    Handful - Green pepper
    Handful - Sliced onion
1.5 tbsp - Cornstarch (If you want thicker add more)
    3 or 4 Tbsp - Water
    ½ - Lemon
300g or ⅔ lb - Shrimp (I used 16/20 count but if you want you can use smaller)
Vermicelli noodles (sometimes referred to as glass noodles, these are usually only $2 or so)
MSG and Pepper to taste (If you are against MSG just omit it, it just adds umami flavor)
Chili oil (Optional, I love my spice so this is kind of a given for me!)
Sauce - Mix lemon, cornstarch, water, soy sauce, and oyster sauce together in a measuring cup or small dish and keep to the side.
Season the shrimp with a bit of the MSG/Pepper mixture you made and toss them around to coat them a bit.
Put a pan on the stove on medium to medium high heat and add a little drizzle of oil.
Once hot add the onion with a little bit more of the seasoning mix. Once lightly brown add the peppers with a little more seasoning and leave to char a little (3-4 min).
Add the shrimp if you are using large ones to the pan, toss it all around a little and add your sauce mixture. Top with broccoli and cover to cook for 3-4 min. Once done, take off the heat so they don't over cook.
For the noodles add one or 2 bundles to a heat resistant bowl and add boiling water from your kettle. The cooking process takes about 5-6 min roughly. Once done, drain well.
Add your noodles to your bowl and top with the tasty shrimp mixture. Add chili oil if you would like and enjoy your creation!
Thank you again for watching and like I said in the video, if you want to see how I make my chili oil let me know as I should be making another batch in 2 or 3 months.
    Have a wonderful day!
