thanks for these amazing videos. your videos help me to write and speak better. I get appreciation from my seniors and US staff. All I can say about you is: why didn't I find you earlier? I wish I had had a teacher like you in my schooling days. Watching your videos from miles and miles away, I am so grateful to have you online. I know, words aren't enough to express gratitude, but all I can do is like and subscribe. Written by Hemant from the bottom of his heart, working in an MNC with US staff and US clients.
Thank you so much for your comments, Hemant. It means so much to me to hear my videos are helpful.
So simple and so clear. Thank you for the lesson!
Doing your course on Udemy. Thank you - I am not a dunce after all, just was not taught
I'm doing the proofreading course on Udemy and it's been very enlightening thus far. Thank you for all your hard work. It's clear that a lot of effort has gone into designing the course and, as your student, I am reaping the benefits. :)
Thank you for your kind comments - I'm delighted to hear you're enjoying the course.
Thanks teacher for your help. Can we use by contrast?
Excellent. A video on the difference between "refute" and "dispute" might be useful for some politicians I can think of.
Thank you - will add to the list!
Thank you, very useful information
I got it thank you
Another great video Dr Lynch. However, with Orwell’s rules of writing in mind, do you think that the easiest solution would be to dispense with certain unnecessary words; for example: “Jim loves anchovies. Jane dislikes them.”?
Thanks, Simon! You raise an interesting point. I've noticed that many of my students have a habit of overusing (and misusing) these kinds of "linking" words and phrases. I suspect it's because they're rewarded for using them in IELTS exams. A topic for another video, perhaps!
