It´s a very hard race and those dogs have to do hard work. Nothing for me. It would be to cold for me, but I love to see those videos. We are only driving our dogs for fun. There is no snow and we have to use a trainings card. But we have fun. I think thats important. But it´s fascinating to see, what great teams there are in Alaska. Wonderful.

By far. The best mushing video I have ever seen. So good to see the interaction with the dogs. It really counters all the comments I have read about cruelty to the dogs. They obviously love what they’re doing and love their handlers1

Had the unfortunate task of reading a book in school about a dog that died from this cruel "sport" its heart exploded apparently and died in the arms of the human racing it... Thats all I remember, I've tried to block it from my memory but obviously failed. Race yourselves, don't mentally warp animals into doing the hard work for you. Absolutely freaking disgusting and appalling, no wonder so many people hate people..

Sledding breeds are built and selected for it. If they don't exercice a lot, they become destructive. The thing tho, is that those race should be looked at as marathons instead of a sprint. Plus, only the ones that were build for that environnement should be allowed to compete. Most of what you see in those races are mixed breeds. They don't withstand the cold as much, but they are faster... Which is a problem to me.

@Ms240forever: The sled dogs are not forced to race. They live and love to run. The dog you read about just as easily could have died from running free through the snow or woods. Obviously, it had a previously undetected heart defect.

What is up with your ads? Really stupid and political. Let's just bond on the things we love like dogs and sleds.

The video creator does not choose the ads, RUclips picks them based on your history, RUclips thinks those ads will work on you...
