Hey Dave...great video and info. But to confirm, poles are not to be used for hanging wet socks on after a long day of walking? 👣 We have to admit, we left ours (on purpose) in a lodging that we stayed in and then legged it!
HI NICK SUPER HELPFUL THANK YOU🙏. CONTENT ID LOVE TO HEAR MORE ABOUT IS... THE 90 OUT OF 180 DAYS WE CAN STAY IN EUROPE 🙈😭🙈 ITS JUST NOT LONG ENOUGH🙏🙏🙏 😭🙈
I know, this is the Brexit thing ☹️. If not for Brexit, I would consider a much longer Camino than the 9 weeks I’ve been here. Even though I think my pack is just right, I might want luxuries if I was doing over 3 months. (I’m missing my electric toothbrush)
@@NickLivingLife surely you know of someone that would hire you for work in Europe so you can get a visa. This drives be balmy how difficult it is now. There must be backpackers working... How do they manage!
I hadn’t thought of a visa. I’m just looking at some now but they seem to want you to stay full time in the country and have a high monthly income, or I can apply to do a university degree in Norway which will somehow allow me to stay here longer (but then I’ll probably have homework 😂😂)
I love hiking poles. They help create a rhythm that becomes a nice diversion and helps me walk faster. Poles have also caught me more times than I can number when I started to lose balance and are especially helpful when hiking downhill.
I didn’t bring mine with me this time and I’ve slid and ended up sitting in some mud twice on downhill stretches over the last week or so. Just shows how useful they are. 😊 I’ve seen a few people now who actually walk faster with the pole rhythm. It’s impressive
I used 2 poles for our Camino. 60% of the time I carried them because the footing was even. When I did use them I mostly used one to go up or down broken grounds. I used them like a portable railing. Because of the hassle of carrying them in an unchecked bag I will wait until I arrive and get a branch or buy one pole. Thanks
I’m a 1 pole person too for tougher ground. I’m generally take 2 these days on big trips where I will be wild camping as they are the structure for my tent. I’m still not sure I would take any for my next Camino de Santiago as I didn’t find any of the terrain difficult (maybe 1 pole for Primitivo). 😊
Thank you so much.. now I will rewind and watch a d rewind again and again.. I have problem walking they say to use the poles . Thank you... Do I need any rubber tips like how many sets...
Nicely made video.
Thanks very much. I’m learning slowly 😊

Hahaha. I can’t believe you would do such a thing. 😂😂
I find my collapsible poles fit inside my pack which is checked luggage.
Great tutorial! Thanks Nick.
Thanks as always Laurie 😊😊
Nice topic bud, beautifully presented 👌👌
Thanks so much. I’ve just been watching some of yours. I need to get a drone and visit more waterfalls I think. Beautiful. 😊
Good stuff
That’s kind of you to say. Thank you. 😊
One of the best instructional videos on use that I have seen 👍
So kind of you to say that. Thank you. 😊😊
@@NickLivingLife Nick, short, sweet, informative and most importantly correct. Well done.

@@NickLivingLife Omgoodness, so frustrating and so unreasonably fair🙈
Great video, some bits I didn't know about using poles, thanks!!
Thanks so much for watching Barbara. 😊
Thanks Nick for another great video.
Thanks Anne. Feels good to film one outside again now it’s stopped raining for a few days. 😂😂

I’m very glad to help. 😊. 1 set of tips should be enough. Most poles come with them included. Buen Camino. 😊
