These girls and this young man were the embodiment of life in music. This was probably the world's most unique musical group. What made it so was the unusual combination of the tantalising rhythm of dance, heavenly voice of liz Mitchell and the dynamism of the musicians accompanying throughout. Almost divine. Sometimes when we look back at those years we can't help getting emotional. Those were the years. Don't know if the younger generation would be so lucky to experience this phenomena.

I think, she has a warm, good voice, but certainly not an excellent one. Personally I prefer the voice of Marcia Barret, she is also a very good and highly underrated vocalist, I like the timbre if her voice more. I find it sad, that because of Bobbie and Maize, many people still today think that Boney M. could not sing live, or that they were just mimicking to their songs

What a great musical troupe they were! They swept away the entire World with their unbelievably rhythmic and meaningful songs mostly related to the most historic personalities and incidents! I was so illiterate in understanding those historical figures and incidents, except 'Rasputin' about whom we Keralites knew a little bit because of him and his lover the Queen and wife of Emperor Nicholas of Russia were all the biggest enemies of the Communists in Russia during the 1st World War. The Communists also wanted to kill Rasputin as they too believed that he is influencing the King's decisions! But before they could kill him the enemies of the Queen & the King within the Royal Palace conspired & managed to trap Rasputin and killed him brutally! So, as a personality who was highly influencial in almost all the decisions of the Russian King, the Communist Party also believed that he too is one of the root cause of the poverty driven miserable lives of the Russian people! And thus believed that Rasputin too needed to be captured and killed along with the King and the entire Royal family members! So Rasputin was there in the stories of Communists all around the World while describing the circumstances that lead to the 1917 Communist Revolution which is known as Bolshevik Revolution among the Russian People! So being the first tiny region in the World,where Commiunist Party came to power through a fair and free election through ballot boxes without even shedding a drop of blood, my tiny state of Kerala,in the southern tip of the Great and Big country of India, we mostly were familiar with that name ' Rasputin'...But Maa Baker like characters, thug from Old Chicago Town,were unknown and strange to us, but we loved Boney M's music so crazily that even illiterate old ladies used to dance with the songs being heard from the streets, while small political meetings were taking place in nearby small junctions! Boney'M brings in great nostalgic memories to our hearts, that of the late 70's and early 80's! The rhythm, music and lyrics are so classic and immortal! So relevant touching even now! Somehow they didn't get the recognition & money they deserved and vanished into thin air..! The death even of the only male member of the band was mysterious and tragic..! Hope their songs will become popular once again and the new generation will ecignise the beauty of their music and take their name up to skies once again! There is already a sign of such an uprising from my state of Kerala, when two young medical students studying at the Govt.Medical College, Trichur,Kerala, in their 3rd and final years, uploaded a 30 seconds long beautiful video dancing in tune to the ' Ra Ra Rasputin ' song from the Boney'M classics and it is now viral and highly controversial too.. .revealing the narrow mindedness of a minority of the communalistic population and the majority of open and liberal minded youngsters and their great thoughts on upholding human brotherhood high ethical values and above all the silliness of dragging communal divisiveness into art and culture! A big wave of liberal thoughts are splashing through the brains of the mostly educated open minded people of my state! Really thankful to Boney'M which inspired the two young medical students to make a short video like that which has resulted in creating a series of turbulent waves in the socio, political and cultural life of NOT ONLY IN KERALA BUT IN THE ENTIRE INDIAN NATION, SPILLING OVER TO THE ENTIRE WORLD NOW! HOPE THE DARKNESS FROM HUMAN MINDS AND HEARTS WILL BE SPLASHED AWAY BY THIS GREAT TSUNAMI OF ENLIGHTENMENT!
