  • This Gavioli is from The Claude Jessett Collection, Tinkers Park, Hadlow Down. Seen here at the Hollycombe Festival of Mechanical Music during the evening of Saturday 21st September. There was a good show of organs at this event, around 25 instruments. For tune titles, please see Peter Mackett's comments below.

I have not seen one of these since I was a child and could not appreciate what I was witnessing. We sadly don't see them at all here in the U.S. anymore. Now, I am old and find myself completely fascinated by these wonderful machines.
    Thank you.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed my video of this fine Gavioli. It is one of many excellent organs currently being rallied at UK events. If you search out band organ events [USA] on Google you may well be able to track down where such organs can be heard in your country. They are not by any means extinct, in fact a number of excellent organs have found there way from UK to the USA in the last few years.

The ex George Milligan gavioli, was pin barrel operated at one time, sounds very much like the Botton Great Yarmouth gavioli did.

This one's ex-Botton's [Bognor] and was in their set of gallopers for a few years. Built in around 1897 I believe.
