  • Recently picked up the Tascam Model 12.
    I gotta say Really love this thing, here I’m sending a couple drum-loops from Ableton into a channels on the Model 12, and sequencing everything else from the Keystep pro.
    Thanks for watching!

    Hello, could you do a tutorial how to use the daw and the effects of the tascan model 12, seems like you've got the switches on live and not pc, but your daw shows all the info, or you start as pc and then move the switches to live and ableton still gets the info from the tascan? great set up by the way, mine is pretty similar. Please tutorial i would love to know what you're doing :D

    Has anyone had the problem where the stereo inputs are not balanced equally in volume between 7/8 and 9/10?

      Thanks!! I actually bought it from someone second hand. However I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of people who sell them on ETSY!

    This sounds great. Do you ever use this for longer live sets?

      Thanks! Yeah it’s something I’m thinking about doing soon. A lot of people use DJ mixers for live gigs like this, but the Model 12 is kinda perfect.

    How do you sync them with no latency? Are you using audio tracks in ableton or external instrument? My Tr8 seems to get a lot of latency issues

    • @binofski_music6037

      Are you using MIDI cables to sync?

      @@binofski_music6037 Midi cable from focusrite interface to the tr8. But when playing the tr8 through ableton it’s still quite a bit out

    Nice. Are you running sequences off the Keystep - with Ableton just recording audio? I have been curious about how to build a Keystep into my setup when Ableton is currently my clock source and sequencer (also using an SH01A, JU06, TR-8)

    • @binofski_music6037
      @binofski_music6037  Год назад +2

      It’s a actually the other way round.
      Ableton is sending clock to the Keystep Pro, but the Keystep Pro is sending midi to the synths to program the sounds of each of them. The audio is then going into the Mixer, then into Ableton . This way I can record the synths on individual tracks and run them through effects in Ableton.
      Absolutely get a Keystep Pro. They are awesome.

    How are you routing a tr8 with tascam?

    • @binofski_music6037
      @binofski_music6037  8 месяцев назад +1

      I have the kick through send output 1 from the TR8 into input channel 1 on the tascam, then all other sounds from the TR8 routed from send output 2 from the Tr8 into Channel 2 on the tascam.

    • @Pacieg
      @Pacieg 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@binofski_music6037 I'm doing pretty much the same on my TR8S, but was thinking lately about splitting snare/toms/claps from hats/cymbals/crashes for better EQ possibilities. I also use two instrument channels for kick, but I route them both through output1 into mixer
