It was called "The Forgotten War". Willfoully forgotten. Because American & South Korean leftists never forgive The American and South Korean, along with many other Free World Freedom Fighters, the Successful Saving of The Taehan Minkuk, The Republic Of Korea, Free and Prosperous today.
It's the first major war during the Cold War, and one of the few moments of the Cold War where the so called "cold" war turned "hot". The outcome of this war is also really important and pertinent to world events even today, mainly because of the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea and of course North Korea itself. My late maternal grandfather volunteered for this war but a combination of volunteering late and training time meant the war ended before he could be shipped to Korea to fight. Still went through officers school and was a proud vet of the Marines. A very kind and loving man who passed St. Patrick's day 2016 due to natural aging causes.
My Way is a top favorite of mine. So well done. It is definitely a must watch.... But small correction StreamTv said that the Korean soldier was captured on D-Day by the Americans to then play out the rest of the movie. This is inaccurate as the final battle in this movie is D-Day. Which makes this a WWII movie, not a Korean War movie.
Exactly, he started as a forced imperial Japanese soldier then forced to fight for the soviet union then on to the german army. Lol I mean seriously D-Day and KOREAN WAR? The Korean war started 5 years after WW2. I don't know how My Way showed up on this KOREAN war movie list.
I expected "The Bridges at Toko-ri" (1954) maybe "Pork Chop Hill" (1959) to be on this list. I have not seen any of these movies that were listed here(except parts of "My Way"). Was always told, that "The Bridges at Toko-ri" was considered the best American view of the Korean War. It's seems to be slim pickings, from the American side. As others have said, sadly, "M*A*S*H" is all Americans really have.
My way is not a Korean war movie. It is a world war movie based on a Korean guy who was conscript in 3 foreign army. I just watch this movie according to your video then I found it's a world war 2 movie.😀
We could really use a Hollywood film showing the Korean War from the American perspective. Such an underrated and unremembered war. Also, why is My Way on the list? It’s not about the Korean War. It’s about a Korean in WWII who was captured by 3 countries and forced to serve in their armies armies. Btw My War could’ve made it. It shows the Korean War from the Chinese perspective
In the US today, The Korean War is taboo talk because the leftists don't want the American people like it or not, to be reminded that American soldiers saved a country from the reds. I spoke with an American born in the late 40s, who told me all his generation knew of the Korean War was the filthily vile TV series MASH that demeaned the US Army Field Hospital members' sacrifices during the Korean War.
Nah, piss off, Hollyweird can take a hike, this war is horrible war started by evil Southern US puppet dictator Syngman Rhee to destroy the Communist north, Syngman killed thousands of political opponents in South and brutally mass murdered millions of his fellow country men because they were "suspicious red traitors" there mass graves still being dug up today from brutal Syngman rule, after him South Korean dictatorship established concentration camps for homeless people, children without parents, homosexuals and people who were autistic and handicapped in some form, hundreds of thousands went through these camps, raped, tortured, beaten, starved, thousands died and its only THIS YEAR the current government acknowledge these atrocities. South is epidemy of evil.

1:54 #7 "SILMIDO"(2003) It was the other way around in reality. The Blue House Raid - January 1968. In January '68, simultaneously with the high seas piratical capture of USS Pueblo, a North Korean commando of 31 assassins tried to infiltrate Seoul to kill Taehan Minkuk President Park Chung Hee. Posing as ROK soldiers, they were however stopped short & captured(1) or killed(28), one escaped. ROK Police Chief Choi Gyu Shik was killed, along with his assistant inspector Jung Jong Shu while stopping the disguised killers. Police Chief Choi was posthumously made Brigadier-General. Four US soldiers were also killed fighting the commandos' attempt to cross back into the North. The South Korean commando was formed in view of later reprisals against the Kim die-nasty. A movie should be made about the 1968 Blue House Raid instead, but for politically correct reasons...
I like you sleazy forgot to mention the fact that 26 South Korean soldiers lost their lives, 4 americans who nobody cares about and another 66 were wounded some gravely, while 29 soldiers of Unit 124 died, all of them fought to their death, some ran towards the Southern troops with grenades in their hands after their guns ran out of bullets, one managed to escape back to DPRK however South list him as dead but he appeared on KCTV and was made a hero, he is also one of the reason this entire thing became known as South heavily suppressed the entire event, only after North made it known, the South had no choice but to admit it.
They can’t, because it will be awkward for them to lie. It’s propaganda for the US. Can’t portray the truth that they lost the war. So many American troops were captured, one time there were 800 over American POW, which was historical.
@@sohhoon8751 The only explanation would be war movies made in Korea. Otherwise, US movies about the Korean War such as Pork Chop Hill and Men in War should have been included.
Tae Guk Ji. NO Contest ! There's also a very good movie not mentioned here "Northern Limit Line"(2015) about the naval battle one day before the semi-finale of the FIFA 2002 world soccer cup between ROK & Turkey, in Taegu, South Korea. The Kim die-nasty regime, hell-bent on sabotaging the event, on June 28th initiated a series of naval provocations in the Yellow Sea near the 38th Parallel Imjin River Mouth. & when the ROK patrol boats drove them away, they turned and attacked. One ROK Navy boat was sunk but could be retrieved. So much for the US$ multi 1000ks Kim Dae Jong gave Kim die-nasty Jong Ill.
That’s why there are not many American made Korean War movies. Arrogance has made Mac Aurthor lost his war. So many thousands American and it’s allied killed, thousand were POW. One time there were 800 over US marines PoW which was historical. They rest who survive tried to escape retreating back to the south with heavy casualties. And it was the US who requested for the ceased fire in 53’. Imagine the Chinese volunteers had hardly recuperate from their civil war that had just ended in 49’. Without advance weapons, no navy and air support at all. They don’t even have enough winter clothing, weapons and food. So many died in the cold. Yet they could still beat the US experienced 1st Marine Division. US lost the Vietnam war too. To the Chinese again. Imagine today China is no longer poor, they are well equipped with even more advance missiles than the US, their weapon technology is so advance today. Also with the right reason and agenda to fight. Their troops are more motivated to defend their sovereignty. So you think US will have the balls to touch China? Only creating tension and stirring shit to profit their MIC.
It has to be remembered but no one remembered the filipino heroes who sacrificed themeselves in the battle of Yuldong . . . . So sad that UN covered up that history . . . . That why its called the forgetten war
In short the US and it’s allied lost the Korean War. These movies just altered the truth and history to glorify themselves.( US and the South Korean) save face and dignity for themselves.
Tae Guk Gi is the best movie representation of the Korean War per my dad, who saw combat there towards the end of the war.
Tae Guk Gi (태국기) definitely expressed how war is like. Especially for us koreans.
Pretty underrated war, it deserves to be remembered.

Tae Guk Gi and The Front Line are my favorite. And Park Chan Wook's JSA for the post 1953 period.
My way is one of the best war movies ever. Top 3 for sure, alongside with saving private Ryan and Hacksaw ridge . My opinion
Tae Guk Gi is in its right place that is 1st... Wonderful movie.
battle of jangsari and battleship island is the best
My great uncle served there on the river Imjin with the Royal Ulster Rifles, best wishes from the wirral

battle of jangsari is better than Operation Chromite. A bit more realistic
Where battle of jangsari
so south korean never show anything about chinese army in their movies?
Battle of island should be no 1
