What an unusually nice man, to make a movie and credit the people who saved his life, then visit the grave and family as promised, and mentioning his name so credit him and show his lifetime appreciation! Great Movie !!! My Dad served on The USS Lexington and was engaged in many Pacific campaigns. He was honorably discharged but was hospitalized with shell shock - what they now call PTSD. Very proud of the men who fought and died for our country. We are truly free because of the brave.
It's more like if only one morning all of us wake up with no more scheming, hatred and help each other out to bring out the best in us, there wouldn't be any more unnecessary spending on a defence budget and there'd be food n shelter for all!

It's sad that a story like this takes so long to be told. People like Private William Summers is such a rare breed that there is only one word that sums it all up. HERO! This man could have just thought of himself and tried to get himself home to his own family but instead did everything possible to make sure that an ally soldier would go home to be with his wife and a daughter he held only once. Even though the Allies eventually won the war, todays world we live in is because of Germany. Lucky for the U.S. we got their smartest scientists, over 300 of them. Imagine if we minded our business in the 1940's and Russia got all those scientists. Do you think it would be better or worse? In the 1940's the U.S. was trying to stay out of Europe's business and war but on that one day on Dec.7, 1941 Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Imperialism of Japan.
