  • So I thought I would take the Naturehike Mongar 2 tent up into the mountains for a wind test and it didn't disappoint. I headed up Old Man of Coniston in the Lake District for a solo night on the mountain. Such an amazing tent for the price. I highly recommend. My tent is the 210T

Had my Mongar a while now, really good tent. I camp alone but feel the slight extra weight, all up with scran and some water generally about 14 kilos. is worth it for the twin doors, vestibules and ability to get all my kit inside the tent.

I have the Naturehike Cloudup One, and I really like the tent, or I did, until I had it in a super windy place with little shelter, where it became unusable and I had to pack up and share my cousin's Phoxx II.
I still like the Cloudup One, but I'll only use it if I know it's not going to be overly windy, because in high wind it's completely useless.
I might try this one in future though, as it seemed to do a little better, with having the '4-points' of stability, as opposed to CloudUps 3-points.

Fellow Trangia/Mongar-packing hammock hanger here, had my Mongar early doors, just a little time after they first came out, so a fair few years now, and I’ve been very happy with it overall, the weight is bearable for the features, protection and comfort it affords, as well as the wind- and water shedding capabilities, I use it predominantly in the highlands, where I live. My Trangia set is over 30 years old and still bombproof. Though there are of course much lighter options for both tent and cook-set these days, I’ve not bothered to ‘upgrade’, preferring to stick with what works, and have used both items several times right up among the highest fishable lochs in Scotland with no dramas either getting there nor in use and sheltering from sometimes quite unpleasant squally weather. Good choices! Btw, the cross pole is meant to be set atop the main pole, not under it - it’s stronger and slightly roomier when it is set on top, per the instructions.
    Greetings from the Grampians 👍🏻
