Offended??? DON'T call the speech police

What do I do if I hear something that I disagree with and it makes me uncomfortable? FIRE's Will Creeley has a few ideas:
➡️ Ask questions either of the person talking or of yourself.
➡️ Ignore them
➡️ Argue back!
You have tons of options, but you can’t call the cops and tell them to arrest the person. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, even if it’s offensive.
This is good news because at some point in your life, you're going to say something that's going to make somebody else uncomfortable and you wouldn’t want to end up in the backseat of a squad car for that, would you?
