I'm in California and the only one I can find for a BCaBA online course of study is at CSU San Marcos and it's 14 months long! They won't let you work ahead! In addition, it's only 3 more credits for a BCBA, but of course you need a Masters degree. Two questions: Anyone know of an accredited online course in Calif. that you can work at your own pace, one or two semesters as Behavior Works did would be great. If I do get my BCaBA then move on to get my Masters in ABA to sit for BABA exam, can I use my classwork from my BCaBA courses? Thx!

Hi Anna, if I wanted to transition from BCaBA to BCBA, do you know if the 1,000 hours I've already completed will count toward the 2,000 required for BCBA hours? Or will I have to complete an additional 2,000 hours before becoming a BCBA?
Hi just wondering the time I am working on Field Experience Hours will that be paid? Or Will the time to collect 2,000 hours be unpaid?
I Accrude a total of 1136 hours for the concentration fieldwork. I also have the multiplier of 1.33 multiplied to this to equal over 1500 hours. I finished my masters and I'm ready to apply using the application but I just want to make sure if this is okay for my hours I have it under that and then it shows that the board will multiply my hours to equal 1500 is this how it's supposed to be so my application gets accepted?

One thing I’m still a little confused about, do you need to become an RBT first even if you have your psych degree & pursue your masters for bcba to complete field hours?

It is not required but I highly recommend it. It gives you so much insight that will help you as a BCBA.
How do you determine if a BCBA would be a good supervisor for you hours? In my current company my BCBA is remote...what are your thoughts on that?
Hi Anna, thanks for your great videos. I've been watching them for a year now. I recently became an RBT in November of last year. I will be starting my first case soon just waiting for insurance approval.
I really fell in love with ABA during my RBT course. Everything about it is so interesting and for the first time in my life I believe I found my path.

If I’m an RBT, do my work hours count towards my field work time? or does it have to be set up through the school I’m getting my degree from?

I know of some people that do not have master's or doctorates and they work as therapists, does anyone know how this could be so?
You only need a high school diploma or GED to become a therapist! Let me know if you’d like to get started on your journey!

Question as a Rbt how do your summarise your notes in decent time span ... ? Takes me a while to complete mines because I have account for six hour day
Something that really helps me is that I take a tiny notebook with me into my sessions and jot down important things that happen that I want to remember for later. Just very simple quick notes while I'm also taking data. Then, at the end of the day when i have to write my session notes, I already have some stuff written down that happened throughout the day that I can go off of, which helps tremendously. I also have a template for my notes and i just fill in the blanks for each day. Also on my internet browser I have bookmarked the autism criteria from the DSM-5 so that I can quickly look through while writing my notes and see what deficits of autism were demonstrated that day and how we tried to work on that. It still takes me at least 15-20 min to write my notes, but these little things have helped me cut down my time tremendously, because before it used to take me FOREEEEVEEERRRR. Hope they can help you too!

Yes. There’s alot of companies hiring RBTs in the midst of this pandemic. I’ve just been hired as a Behavior Therapist. My agency is having the behavior therapists undergo the 40-hr training for the RBT exam.

Do you know if there are any requirements for BCBAs in order for them to supervise?
My current supervisor is an experienced BCaBA and the BCBA that we do have has only been a BCBA for three months.
As long as she is a certified BCBA in good standing with the board she can supervise!

@@sonnyjones313 they have different pathways listed on the website. However i think that as long as you do the ABA coursework and have your fieldowrk hours you are eligible
