with many of these youtube interviews I tend to play them at 1.25 or even 1.5 speed, this must be one of the few occasions where I've considered actually slowing it down lmao
Honestly this was one of the more interesting interviews you've done IMO. It's always cool to see a break from the norm extending out into the community. Very well done.
I used to be big listener of JRE and Lex Fridman, but Thorin kind of put them in the back of the bus to me. His side channel have bunkers interviews, not to mention his main work related with eSports.
It doesn't matter if he doesn't have a gsl lol he routinely beats the best gsl players including maru just about everytime...what's the difference if he does it in a gsl studio or another stage? He beats them all it doesn't matter. He's the goat anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves
To answer your question, The main Differences are 1. Koreans are always jetlagged in foreign tourneys 2. GSL format is different and allows players time to prepare which Reynor says makes Zerg (Serral's race) less powerful in GSL, and 3. GSL is absolutely stacked, besides Clem and Serral and whichever Koreans came over from GSL, the level of the average competitor is arguably higher in code S than foreign tournaments. Obviously, SC2 players aren't rich enough to prioritise legacy over more important things such as income but if Serral cared enough about legacy he'd definitely compete in Code S and if he won first try it would solidify his GOAT argument further.
Thorin had me until he acted like Afreeca was gonna pay him for giving them a handy Edit: Jesus, he has a horrific take on the BW/Korea controversy as well. Man this interview revealed who Thorin is.
ScH: "Okay so Thorin, thanks you so much for taking the time today. I really appreciate it :D"
Thorin: "Alright. :| "
Love this man

Imagine what that's like for someone like me whose mother tongue is Spanish 😂 trying to follow what he's saying is challenging 😅
@@facundosoler2200 I can totally imagine it, I'm also not a native speaker.
Thorin at 1.5x is perfect. A better quality and less distorted 2x.
Great interview, dude. Thorin is definitely one of the best (and spiciest) minds to ever work in e-sports.
Top notch stuff. Appreciated.

Could actually discuss your disagreements with his "take" instead of writing the equivalent of a dunk tweet.
