I purchased this exact color 2024 Mazda3 Hatchback in the US just a few days ago. I’ve watched dozens of reviews on this car and your review is by far the most insightful and interesting review I’ve ever seen on any car model. Everything you mentioned hit deep what car ownership means to me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge:-)
Just got my Ignite Edition 3 weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. This may not be a perfect car, but it is a perfect car for me. It drives so well, comfortable enough for daily drive, very quiet on highway drives, Bose sound system is amazing, and the burgundy seats just add a little bit of flavour to the interior. But I do think that the Civic FE would be a better choice if it's gonna be your only car.
Interesting thought on the Civc FE. Currently considering to replace my current car with either the Mazda3 or the Civic. Would be happy to hear more on that thought, do share more.. haha!
@@ncs93 just forget about the FE, my FE for 2 years, claimed 4 steering racks and the problem still not solved.. sold off civic and getting my mazda 3 ignite this week
@@ncs93 go to both showroom and test both car mazda 3 & Civic by closing their door hard and observe the sound it makes.. from that u should be able to tell which OEM actually produces a better quality product 😁
@@jimmygoh4210 thanks for the tips, but I e been driving the mazda3 for close to 6 months now 🤣🤣 Compared to the civic, the 3 is a no brainer for me. Instant decision when I tested it out haha
I love this guy! Like someone I'd like to hang out with and have a beer. Great review and different take on other videos I've watched on this vehicle. Thanks.
I've chosen Mazda for its timeless design, same as how I've chosen my watches and outfits. Whether I'm in denim outfit, or formal, and even casual, the Kodo design language, is seen literally riding my horse, and ready for our adventurous journey!
Nice review from Greg ! I also liked Mazda 3 Liftback, especially in the Soul Red Crystal, always a head turner whenever I got a chance to see them on the road.
I agree that the look is really subjective. For me personally I think the sedan version is an absolute beauty, reminding me of some Alfa Romeo design in certain way at the rear. However the Liftback does not really work for me especially the huge C pillar towards the end. No offence, this is just personal that I don't really like the view especially on 3:04 to 3:05. As for the torsion beam setup, something that came into my mind comparing the Mazda 3 Liftback to a Golf 1.4 TSI R-line that was discontinued. The Golf came with multi link rear suspension managed to offer more rear passenger space, bigger boot, very quiet cabin, comfortable ride with very well tuned suspension and very good handling. Seems to me that Mazda is taking an easy way out to switch from multi link (from the previous generation) to torsion beam.
Can't agree more on the 3. Tested both 1.5L sedan and 2.0L hatch, both are not perfect and are not even close to be called an all rounder. But to a shrinking handful of drivers, sitting in it and driving it, stirs a particular sense of satisfaction and will probably draw an unintended silly grin (noticed by my passenger) while behind the wheel.
Bootspace : yes. I first find the interior rather appalling when it first launched. Mainly because how tight and claustrophobic it made me feel. Thanks to being used to Hondas lah. But over the years, I find it to be so attractive and now I find myself longing for one. Too bad Malaysian practically worship Hondas and Toyotas that an affordable Mazda is only a pipe dream.
Have had one for 6 months in Australia, almost the same as the one tested. Adore it and agree with your comments. I'm 72 and it's the best car I've owned since I was 17.
Curious on how much salary people who can afford this car (minus self employed) I wish to own this but it's still too pricey for me even my salary is lower end of 5 figures
@@FunkoMalaysiain my opinion Mazda 3 if you looking at the long term. The civic EHEV will cost more in the long run, especially when the battery pack start to deplete. The skyactiv engine already provides the best fuel efficiency a car can give…plus bermaz offer 5 year free service… Even if you are rich…the money you save is the money you gain
i'll take civic anytime because of the resale value. after 7 years for sure boring to use anymore. so just sell the old one and buy new car with so many new features, safety & tech. and i can guarantee mazda will cost so much less to sell at that time compared to honda.
if mazda 3 could achieve such performance with torsion beam, isnt it even greater to have multi-link? the ride quality, the handling performance, imagine the unknowns and possibility with multi-link??? and dont use megane rs as example laa...that car got rear wheel steer....if u wanna claim to be a driver's car at least know the limits of a torsion beam vs multi-link la rite...we havent even start complaining about the 2.0 NA, they even had the audacity to sell the 1.5NA from the beginning, even X50 can overtake a mazda 3 easily on a straight road
@user-np5nq4vv5d I just took delivery of my 2024 mazda 3 150hp (EU model) with vin number JM4BP... the car is terrible next to 2023 and previous years mazda3s. The engine sounds like a two cylinder fiat 500 when idle because it goes to two cylinder mode. It's often on two cylinder mode. 1st-2nd gear are jerky. Horrible horrible vibration and engine noise. All of the 2024s I have looked at. You're lucky because in US you don't have to dral with cylinder deactivation nonsense.
I would disagree total. 1-the interior is boring of a singular colour(black for easy maintenance but "old man" maybe a bit more sculptured would be atune as sporty/atas) 2-Skyactive=high pressure/high temperature, therefore long term higher cost maintenance. 3-long old outdated design contours, seeing a 2-3-5-6; any significantly design differences; should in lieu for a major design change.4-it is a so so average performing car with nothing uncommon amongst the others Eg WRX or Satria Neo R3.
refer to No.2, what u mean by high pressure & temperature? cause skyactive engine optimal operating temp is 88 degree C. i drive skyactive engine, clock at 350,000km already.. and i can say, cost of mtce are super cheap.

Since 2019 but still looks so sexy, fresh and good. It age very well. While some brands especially H looks old at immediate launch.

Compare to civic FE which one is better ?
if u compare within same price, definitely civic better because it is ckd, but cbu mazda3 from japan offer better quality. and civic look ordinary.
In any measurable aspect, FE is a better car..
You buy a Mazda3 because you want to..
What nonsense torsion bar for noise reduction
I would upgrade m3 car to 2.5 if it get it gets released
the most perfect hatchback
2.0 mazda 3 vs 2.0 mazda 6.. which one better
Depends on your use case. Mazda 6 is more practical but if you mainly seek driving pleasure, Mazda 3 all the way.
