  • Greenlight is under new management and ownership as it turns out! At the end of 2022, the diecast model manufacturer was purchased by a die-hard model car collector, namely one Vincent Tang, who along with his already established enterprises is dedicated to bringing the quality and manufacturing process to new heights not seen before by the Greenlight brand. In a reported interview, Mr. Tang, a resident of Canada and the UK, originally from Hong Kong, is planning on building many new American models with CAD programming and already we can see in the 2023 release of diecast cars and trucks that the quality control has improved IMMENSELY, with perfect paint jobs on the castings, smooth rolling wheels, highly detailed and accurate whitewall tires and wheel molds, as well as a complete disappearance of the dreaded glue, fingerprints, and grease that plagued the brand for many years since its inception. Where has manufacturing gone to and what has changed? I would LOVE to know, but I don't have all the answers just yet, therefor, stay tuned! And HAPPY HUNTING!
    Featured in this Greenlight 1/64 scale diecast review are many older models from series released over a year ago, so be prepared to see exactly what I mean with the changes as compared to the new products I have reviewed on this channel and in this video. Today we look at Hobby Exclusive Fox Body Mustangs, Shell and Gulf oil Special Edition racing and rally cars, old army Jeeps, Hot Pursuit, Norman Rockwell, Hollywood, Dually Drivers, Running On Empty, and Fall Guy collectibles!

    It's rare these days to have people at the top of a business actually having a passion for the products that the business makes! This is awesome news about Greenlight.

      Rare? What the hell are you buying? You're so wrong about that. Mini GT, Pop Race, Hot Wheels, Tarmac Works, Matchbox, Majorette, Bburago, Timothy & Pierre, Error 404, YM Model, Inno 64, Spark/Sparky, PGM, MR Collection, Peako, LCD models, Para64, Kaido House, Auto World, ETC. You must be buying models from the local Mom and Pop discount shop. Models that are so badly made they cost about 4 cents to produce a 10 pack and sell for $0.97.

    This is great news for Greenlight. The brand deserves better quality and recognition. They already have a large catalogue with lots of good castings. My favorites: The yellow 1969 Boss Mustang, '64 Impala from "Running On Eppty", 1977 Dodge Monaco from the "Fall Guy" and the 1945 Willys Jeep. The 'Starsky and Hutch' set looks interesting too. Thanks for showing these and i hope Greenlight really ups the quality in 2024.

      Kinda sad you can have a top 3 cars for a brand. As far as hotwheels go I could never imagine even having top 10. There’s too many that would tie for those spots

    I'm happy to know a collector has Greenlight. I hope he can get the 1/24 quality control issues straight. My A-Team Van and Christine Fury both had to go back once and twice and I still had to settle with subpar. It does hurt the heart because I like their designs. Using the screw in stable packaging would be a great help.

    If you ever have free time to travel, definitely should visit Las Vegas around Feb. 29- Mar. 3 for the "Diecast Super Convention". A lot of designers and customizers will be there including Vincent Tang from Greenlight. You can talk to a lot of these designers and of course give feedback and suggestions directly, all super friendly and open minded. I've talk to a few in the past like Tony Karamitsos from Round 2 and Sean Taylor from M2 and give them suggestion I wanted to see. And of course the 24/7 in room trading/selling, Exclusive convention cars, Celebrity meets, tons of fellow collectors, ETC. And there's good Diecast places in Vegas like "House of Cars Las Vegas", hopefully you consider visiting in the future

    Great news! I hope they continue the Cadillac series. Would like to see them incorporate the Lincolns, Oldsmobile, Buick models of the 60s and 70s. Anything in full size family cars. Their Cadillac and truck models are amazing!

    I’ve thought Greenlight was a nicer looking Diecast model except for the muddled windows up until the past few months. The purchase would explain the clear windows of late. Good news for Greenlight and customers as well. I’m sure Greenlight is a go going forward.

    I don't think it's too likely but it would be great if the new management at Greenlight could start sublicensing Ferrari just so that there would be a brand regularly doing Ferrari in 1:64 that I can buy at normal retail (re: Walmart and Toys R' Us) in Canada again, like the way things were pre-2015 when Mattel still had the Ferrari license.

    • @abbiravindhran8424

      Greenlight would never ever in our life get the Ferrari license.

    • @SteveBrandon
      @SteveBrandon 4 месяца назад

      @@abbiravindhran8424 I know it's not likely but many other diecast companies are sublicensing Ferrari from master rights holder May Cheong Group so I think it's not impossible Greenlight might do the same under new ownership. It's just very unlikely.

      It definitely would be cool if they could get the license!

      @@abbiravindhran8424 Also Volkswagen, they do a lot of Volkswagen.
      Anyway, I remember a press release from when Greenlight got bought out a few months ago saying something to the effect of the new management wanting to take Greenlight in some new directions and European exotics, whether or not that includes sublicensing Ferrari from May Cheong Group, would be an obvious new direction for Greenlight to take.
