Hello fellow Canadian. I collect also but my car collection is much smaller than yours as I also collect military and Star Wars. Back in the day I had an ex-OPP crown vic. A 1979 with the single headlights rather than the twins. I'm pretty sure it is a rarer model than the twin. Anyway I miss the old girl and she flew. A true road rocket. Happy collecting.

Greenlight has pretty much always nailed it with their police cars, but, Hot Pursuit 19 is probably one of the best. You've got a CHP car, which is a department that collectors have wanted for a while, if I recall, plus, California is one of those places in the states that everyone pretty much knows! Florida is a rather popular tourist destination in the U.S., and, I may have to get that FHP car, as Florida has been my home since I was 9, and I turn 23 on October 1st! In addition, I like Chargers, well, mainly the classics, and, the insanely awesome Charger SRT Hellcat(707 horsepower in a sedan!) which Greenlight has a casting of coming in GL Muscle 16 along with a 2016 Camaro SS and a classic Mustang in Gulf livery, but, this Charger is a cool looking cop car. Everyone knows NYC, and the NYPD Explorer looks good. Got those cool classic sedans and the awesome truck as well. So yeah, very solid release in my opinion!
i had a few of the road champs police cars & flexible busses in the 90s.
I love the enthusiasm man. Canada and Japan are my faves for the Rio vans. I like the way they just called it Rio thus skirting the need to get permission (and perhaps paying a fee) from the Olympic committee. Mattel did the same with their "games" mini -collection for this year.

Yeah they're in the mainline this year -The cards have a fake gold medal and each car has a figure running, boxing, doing archery...Wait I know -you could check out my N case unboxed video to see some examples.

The 67 Chevy Fargo Police car is modeled after a real restored Fargo Police car and is on display at a museum in West Fargo ND. They bring it out for special events and parades. I last saw it driving in August 2019.

Canadian VW bus is the best of the Rio batch because of the CLEAR HEADLIGHTS !! Great to see more License plates, I think they add alot..
I prefer the plastic bases because it makes it 100x easier to modify the cars with LEDs and my own R/C powerplant.. Great vid Thanks for the close ups and un boxing..
Good point on customizing, very cool work you do with these scale of models. Now I see why clear headlights is an extra bonus!

we have all that salt and snow in Buffalo ny and a lot of the crown victorias have been replaced by ford Explorer and dodge chargers and chevy Tahoes
Florida and New York ar the coolest cars and the buses all of them

Only complaint I have with Greenlight is accuracy on the lights and lightbars. You can see on the package pic that that Fargo car has a FederalSignal Visibar with a single square siren,Greenlight opted however to place a model on the roof with a round siren and soup can flasher lights (looks like a Mars lightbar like Chicago had),It wouldn't be hard to make the actual lightbar for them would it? On the AMC Javelin Alabama State Trooper they put a diffrent type gumball from what the actual car had,finally on their TwinSonic and gumball lightbars they sit way too high on the roof cause they made the mounting legs way too tall. Other than this Greenlight is doing a great job on their models.

Nice set! The only complaint with Greenlight is that i wish the glass was better, not fogged looking on some models...
I think the fogging may be glue over-spray or something, I've seen it on a few models of mine, but not on all windows of that model.
I like the USA van and the Canada van because the USA and Canada are best allies so i cheer for in the olympics

Are you as excited as I am with the freaking awesome quality being put out by all the die cast we've come to love and obsessed over?
I haven't been doing much collecting as of late. I've got over 5,000 die cast and the wife is LOSING IT!! Haha!
So I was excited to hear some wealthy businessman bought and saved Johnny Lightning! And I was hoping to continue my 1/18 scale JL collection again, but my Wal-Mart isn't stocking JL anymore WTF!!?? Any idea why?
Anyway, I got out tonight and I was really, really effin happy because I saw really high quality die cast across the bar!!
I think die cast makers like Greenlight and M2 with their awesome quality die casts have pushed the snoozing market into action because I saw awesome new Hot Wheel collection out there like the Forza, and others all really high quality and really cool castings. But the real pleasant surprize was the new castings from Matchbox!! Freaking awesome!!
Matchbox are looking like they did when they were right up there at the pinnacle of the die cast world!!
I did buy a 64? Cadillac Ambulance, and what a sweet, and heavy casting!!
Gone are the cartoonish castings with the bucket 'o' paint poured over them. These new models are awesome!! Great detail, great paint, and heavy!! I hope they start producing the damned Matchboxes again!! Imagine you're back there in 67 and you're beaming over your collection of Matchbox cars with the MATCHBOX to put them in, and some smart ass buddy says, they should make Matchbox cars, without the actual Matchbox, just to be ironic!!
You'd be in serious breach of etiquette if you didn't slap the face off a fool like that!! And yet there they were...gone!!

Nice to see those two GL series. I was surprised about half the VW vans having plastic bases and half metal, it seems a bit inconsistent. As a premium series I would have probably expected metal bases on all of them. But at the end of the day, when they are on display, it wouldn't really matter eh. Thanks for the video buddy.
Agreed, you can't tell the difference when they are on display, but also I'm beginning to think the Olympics Rio vans are not a premium series after all. No opening parts on any of these castings either...

I buy my cases from various sellers on eBay, they usually cost around $30 US plus shipping to Canada (usually from the USA).

Did you pick up the 1:43 scale Presidential Limousine series of cars? I know you're up in Canada but wasn't sure if you still might've picked those up. They're pretty cool. Great video btw!
They do look cool and it was very tempting... I would have had to order them through eBay because they aren't sold near me as far as I know. The price was a bit high I thought, and the scale being 1/43 is not what I typically collect. For that reason I am going to wait and hope that Greenlight releases these cars in 1/64 scale.

Wait a minute. Why did the packaging for the NYPD Utility say that the year of the vehicle was 2015 (1:12)? At 10:13, when you flipped the vehicle upside down, it said 2014.

I like both Monaco and mainly the Biscayne, reminds me the Blue Brothers car; for the Kombis, I like the art on the Japan one, even as a brazilian, I don't like that overused green/yellow choice, at least if they did some kind of art(something abstract, nothing with football or samba) also including the blue, and why not stars. Also I expected you pronouce the motto on the flag, haha, which means "Order and Progress". Thanks for the video.

Both sets look excellent, but I really like those Hot Pursuits! Each one has amazing details...not sure which one I like the most. Must admit, the USA van is a bit obnoxious with all the stripes. LOL!

That Monaco is freaking beautiful! I love all the castings, but I wish they'd stop with the plastic bases. I don't mind plastic if it is at the right price point. Autoworld let's you know it is plastic and charge you $3 accordingly.
In hindsight the plastic bases were only on the M&J exclusive line, not the Hot Pursuit, so it is possible that the M&J line of vans is not considered a premium line from Greenlight (also no opening parts on those VW vans).
