Nogmaals welkom.
Dank je wel for the warm welcome! The Netherlands is definitely ahead in terms of zoning laws and infrastructure quality (especially transportation infrastructure) than anywhere in the US. The US has its strengths as well though. I've heard quite a bit about Frisian, but it's hard for me to tell the difference. I guess I'll be able to tell once I become fluent in Dutch myself. Much love!
The difference is that most Dutch people walk with their heads held up high, while most Belgians look down while walking. But both are similar, true that. Used to be one country, eh? 👍
I notice that now after a time visiting many different places in Europe there are very few assumptions he is willing to make- he makes observations and then tempers them with " but there may be other ways or other things I haven't seen in other areas of the country or city" - that's what is really lacking in the US, we tend to assume so quickly and believe too much that we must be right. When you get the chance to see many new places, new countries, new ways of doing things that are so different, you learn quickly to observe well, and not assume much. After enjoying travel around Europe, many things in the US make me uncomfortable and I miss the open mindedness that came with Europe.
Jordan, for travels within the EU, you usually can use data roaming with no cost. Maybe look it up but as far as I’m informed, Roaming extra costs have been forbidden in the EU (at least my German plan covers everything in the EU with no extra data cost)
19:58 "I still try to wrap my mind around how small Europe is" Bro Europe is bigger than the USA . Europe = 10,180,000 km2 (3,930,000 sq mi) USA 9,833,520 km2 (3,796,742 sq mi) Mainland USA 8,080,464 km2 (3,119,884 sq mi) (because Alaska is pretty big, but nobody goes there when doing route 66 😉) What you do is like a European traveling around the U.S. east coast visiting NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, Washington dc and then saying bro I thought the U.S. was a big country but it's all pretty close together. Yeah the north east USA, is pretty close together, just as western Europe is. You get your bicycle and try peddling form Portugal to northern Norway and then to Azerbaijan and back to Portugal. That's a 16,650km (10,345 mile) trip (that is if you take a short cut through Turkey).
Random Jordan but I have curly hair too and was wondering what you used in it to keep it healthy. But also congrats on the new found life you love to see it and happy for both of yall. Keep up the grind
You can't say that people in another city are more open (or closed) after walking around for a few hours. And mind you, Americans are not shocked easily!!! (meant sarcastically).
I actually really enjoyed the ambience. I think it's just the fact that we were outside/around people the whole time. If we could've gone to a hotel or AirBnB to recharge, it probably wouldn't have been as overwhelming.

8:30 he is vegan, so it's difficult to try Dutch food that is vegan.
