One example of a thing he did was made drops in a PvP zone from mobs twice as good if you were skulled(PvP flag that risks your items on death) and not even the other developers knew this mechanic existed just some players in the clan he was in. The funniest part is that Jagex fucked up the investigation so he sued Jagex when they fired him and he actually never got legally punished for all the stuff he did and walked away. According to courts the value of just the accounts he hacked was 217k euros, nevermind all the gold he enabled his clan to farm through exploits/DDosing.

They say it in the most flexible means possible in order to avoid any class action lawsuits regarding any deprivation of product.

    Abusing the fact you're in a relationship with someone as a means of gains is downright the least gamer thing to do. Whether it be to gain an upper hand or antagonize/threaten others, it's absolutely despicable for a person to do.
    Also, imagine breaking company policy to give your "girlfriend" an unfair advantage in the game. He should be outright fired.

If a worker is doing illegal, company damaging actions etc, an immediate cancellation is possible. If the situation is not harsh enough to go this way legally, but the company wants to get rid of the person now, companies often decide to cancel on contracted period and immediately send the person on paid vacation for the rest of time, probably together with house ban. If you want / need to get a worker out of the company now, you can do so legally.

    I don't think Asmon realizes how rampant stuff like this is in runescape. MULTIPLE youtubers and people have tried to bring awareness to the stella issue for at least 6 months of my knowledge, I honestly only think they take action now because Asmon and maybe oda speaks up about it a lot and riots happening in fally. Jagex tries to sweep issues like this under the rug. The same thing with all the other corrupt jmods, this isn't the first time at all. Jagex has a serious issue
    So many bots, lurers and misc too as oda said some of them are in top 10pvm kills for some monsters and they're still not banned.
    The worst thing is, jagex has next to 0 customer support. They have an email they don't respond to and twitter where you cannot post confidential stuff so they "can't help you" since its a public page. You have to make this much drama before they take action otherwise like as in the history of osrs they have just try to sweep it under the rug and hope people forget and that it doesn't blow out of propertion like it is now.
    Another example of not being able to communicate was with the 117 HD plugin they just randomly wanted to take down after a year of work from the dude and the community wanted it, everyone had to go to steam when it was newly released and leave bad reviews.. not to be heard, but to not be ignored.

He never got banned. I accidentally cut him off on an obstacle only 1 person can use at a time and then his character started running around to random places, then down a ladder where he was stuck for the next 1-2 hours running circles in the pit because he couldn’t get out because his bot didn’t know it needed to click on a ladder. I’m still pretty salty about that because I was playing legit but missed the top 100 because I’m sure there were a lot of bots in the top 100. I wish I had the amount of pull that girl does! 😂

But Stella kept gloating, kept making her orders to Trident public, and generally couldn't keep her mouth shut about their little operation. Of course it was going to blow up online when you're rubbing it in everyone's faces. So now, Trident's entire career in the gaming industry is over. No one will hire him into any kind of GM position after this very public abuse of power, he's too much of a risk.

Just blacklist this dude from game dev.

    So, something which I don't think was really addressed but is VERY pertinent:
    For all the people thinking that Trident should be immediately fired, that would be a horribly stupid move for the OSRS team. It was only a couple years ago that the most corrupt piece of shit to stain OSRS (Jed) was awarded something like 20,000 pounds because of an improper firing. The ruling, as I understand it, was that because much of the hard evidence for Jed's firing was collected post his leaving (even though they knew he had done it, they just hadn't physically collected the evidence), he was able to win his lawsuit. I absolutely DO think Trident should be put on leave in the meantime, but in no way should they just fire him off rip.

    • @francisbalfour1243
      @francisbalfour1243 Год назад

      That being said, stella had to do it on a stage, she was trying to funnel people into her cc/discord out of fear of her getting them banned if they use another cc. For that to work she had to establish a public connection to someone in the anti cheat team. But at the same time she over played that connection and pushed it out there to the point corruption was obvious, ideally she should have said it once with a example with someone unknown within the community and then jept her mouth shut, let it just spread within the community silently rather than coming from her and keep a low profile while doing said corruption.

  • @forgeline5212
    @forgeline5212 Год назад

    Senior Anti Cheating Specialist btw. Let that sink in.
    There has been a history of corrupt moderators. Mod Jed was in the largest clan in OSRS giving them insider info. Like the location of the final fight during the $10,000 Deadman Mode tournament, allowing the clan to set up there and secure the win. But beyond that, he hacked hundreds of accounts and stole HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS worth of in-game currency from players.
    Then there was Mod Reach, who intentionally wrote a bug into the games code that would allow players to perform a specific sequence of actions that would enable invincibility on their account. Him and his friends used this invincibility bug to camp the boss with the most potential for profit at the time, Corporeal Beast. The true extent of the bug abuse is truly unknown, but based on information gathered it's estimated that over a couple month span, they were able to farm roughly $200,000 worth of OSRS GP. Shortly before Jagex launched their internal investigation into this matter and Mod Reach, he has begun showing up to work in a brand new Audi... which his co-workers found a bit odd considering they made the same amount he did.
    Last that I can think of is Mod Jacmob. I don't know how involved he was with OSRS, not sure of his timeline at Jagex. However, I do know that he was originally the owner and creator of the largest botscript website around at the time. He was public enemy #1 for Jagex. They would implement new anti-cheating measures, and he would immediately find creative ways to circumvent them. They eventually had enough of the rat chase and decided to offer him a job. He became the head of the anti cheat department. His story is more interesting than the allegations, because he essentially just let his friends get away with botting. This was just a widely known thing, but never became a topic of discussion with Jagex. At least publicly.
    Anyone who has played the game for a while know's exactly how bad of a track record Jagex has. Not just with corruption, either. Also with just general decision making. It seems like it's every 2 months they massively drop the ball or make a horrible choice that impacts the community and players riot.

    It's not abuse of power though. It's cooperation between a mod and a player. She knows people who are probably breaking the TOS and asks a mod to investigate it.
    Think about it logically. Mods can't investigate every single player. That's just physically impossible. So they have to rely on reports from players to choose who they get to investigate. And it just so happens that Stella is dealing with a lot of shady players every day, so she can aid mods in their work.
    But anyway, they're probably going to try and punish that mod. Not because he did something wrong, but because it will cause them millions if they keep him at the company.
