Professor Winston conducts several experiments including a demonstration on how our stomach behaves when we eat gummy bears. And after making it snow in Los Angeles, James and Professor Winston recruit the band and Ian to make a rainbow. Professor Winston's newest book, "Ask a Scientist," is available now.

Put your mouth over the entire bottle opening and blow in to create pressure, so the egg pops out. Or out some water in, dump in an alka-sentzer, and upend the bottle so the egg slides into the neck...

I kinda thought the smoke would be a rainbow colored xD
Should the smoke have been colored like a rainbow in the final experiment? It seemed like that was the whole point, yet the smoke came out white.
It's not smoke (no fire) but condensated water particles (= a cloud). You can't really change that color, but you can shine different lights through it. I worked at a science center as an educational entertainer for three years haha, we did all the experiments shown here, always fun

Potassium nitrate, baking soda, sugar and some colored crayons melted does the trick.

@@clc040 yeah but indigo and violet are both really just purple. The reason why it's divided to 7 is because the man who coined the standard was obsessed with the thought that the number 6 was bad so a rainbow that's so nice can't have 6 colours cause then it'd be bad.... Something like that 🤪

So today I learnt Winston defines women by the presence of two X chromosomes, and a male as having a Y chromosome. Now everyone only has one active X chromosome, and the other X if you have one (or more) has a small genetic influence.
So in someone with XY chromosomes it depends on the influence those 70+ genes on the Y have, if they're integrated into the 2000 genes of their X then the chances that person is in fact a woman is going to be very high.
He also says blood cells have dna.. so ya know

i don't think there are more cool science tricks left, i mean the first two appearances of him was fun, but now its just old tricks everyone knows like the egg getting sucked in the bottle and the hot water and liquid Nitrogen which he did last time with golf balls

I'm sorry, but those experiments were so basic and every science guy at every tv show does the same three "experiments". And half the time they didn't even work here. America is in high need for better education if I see everybody in the comments this excited. You should invite some real science people or at least somebody a little bit more creative.
I can barely understand what that scientist is saying. Maybe lose the moustache professor 🤦🏻♂️
