Around Residential Houses, The Eastern Bluebird are getting destroyed. Numbers of Boxes increased their numbers dramatically.... however Cats are killing them at alarming speeds. A House Cat lease Law would help, but too many people are letting their Cats roam around both Day and Night. Please help the Bluebirds thrive, by controling the time your Cats are outdoors....
Any responsible cat owner should have only house cats that aren't allowed outside. Most in my area do this and I never see cats around my property anymore. 40 years ago, it seemed everyone had cats and they were allowed outside, especially at night. Most ended up dead on the main road, but many caught birds and stalked feeders.
H2o is great as bluebirds at my Arkansas home prefer H2o more than the other songbirds at the house.I also feed dried mealworms and built houses 4 them.😊

I live in eastern Canada and have never seen a bluebird around these parts. Plenty of tree swallows every year though.
Another thing that fits here is that Idaho, Nevada, Missouri and New York all have some kind of bluebird as a state bird!
