The International Judo Federation should recognize a No Gi Judo Competitive category just like BJJ. It would modernize Judo and make it more practical.
@@subzero6190 Judo is practical with or without gi. Understand, Judo was made to fight with or without it. Kano made his younger students train without gi before they trained with gi. Also those throws are made for no gi.
Hi Sensei, really glad to find your video(s) ... having a deep description of all these techniques. I like how you depict the same technique(s) in different situation(s). Well done to you and to your young crew. It is a good refresh for me to see your video(s). Always ... , practice practice and practice! Oss.
judo needs to evolve. this is exactly what judo needs to evolve. im a black belt judoka and in BJJ. If BJJ went no gi so should judo. thank you for uploading
Judo has no gi. Where are getting the idea it doesn’t? Understand, Jigiro Kano made his younger students train no gi before they can even do gi training. There is old footage of that.
I did a flying makikomi in bjj competition had my righ grip deep on the back and he ducked under my arm trying to rotate around me to take my back but I just let him rotate to my back and timed my makikomi as he was walking behind me turned my hip in the air he landed dricetly on his shoulder legs straight in the air the rolled onto his back and I pushed my hip in and got the kesa gatami position
The drop knee Seio Nage just took a mila second but it was heard. Osoto makikomi is in the top favorites over here!!! Will there be more no gi videos in the future? Along with the judo videos of course.
I was banned by my instructor from doing makikomi cause i was just beating everyone in the club with it during shei. He is big on having a variety and not be a one trick judoka
It's good to know a variety of techniques, how to employ and counter them. However, I would rather be really good at and effective with one technique than mediocre at 60. Particularly for self defense and beginners.
@@davidmartinez7194 I disagree. You should be great with more than one technique . You become predictable and it can be countered. Back in my tang soo do days, one person had a devastating jumping side kick but depended on it too much. I sparred with him and stayed very close to him and he didn’t know what to do.
As a wrestler, I’m really intrigued by makikomi. How risky is it since you’re exposing so much of your back? It also reminds me of a Peterson roll in wrestling, except it’s standing
Thanks for watching! I threw wrestlers with it all the time back when I was on the wrestling team in school. It just depends on how fast your attack is, your ability to commit to the execution of the throw, and of course hours and hours of practice. It might not work 100% of the time, but it’s still a great addition to any grappler’s arsenal.
Im not even a grappler but a southpaw kickboxer and these throws are great!! Excellent teaching and students🙏🏻👍🏻
Thanks! I appreciate the support and kind words.

Naw.. Judo throws are difficult enough with the gi; without the gi there will be little to no action as escapes will be a lot easier

Judo is still practical. Who said it isn’t?
@@anthony-nv9yf So does BJJ. 🤦♂️😂
So your point?
You can still get grips on people's jackets. Just depends on the fabric.
Excellent instruction! 1st gi, then immediately no gi for each throw. Well done pedagogy!
The intro shot makes it look like you're about to drop the most 🔥 judo mixtape of the century.
I really love judo and want to learn judo but no judo where I live
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Step by step from different angles. Thank you!
When your throws are so fast your opponent only has time to breakfall with his feet - nice. 😂And great vid, thanks.

Beautiful work and wonderful teamwork!
Excellent!
Good stuff love it
These are really great! Thank you for creating this video!
Great stuff I'm a bjj guy but I learned a lot from this video and others to complement my game and I actually prefer no gi for judo
Awesome! I’m glad we could help. Judo or BJJ - we’re all one big grappling family.
Great vídeo about judo no gi. It's the best I ever seen 👏👏👏
Your students are amazing! I a a judoka myself. I am a orange belt.
Thank you! Keep training and stick with it! 👍
This was good. Love seeing no gi judo videos. Keep it coming guys!

The plan is to demonstrate no gi versions of applicable throws in future videos. Stay tuned!

Very helpful Tnx .
I wonder why you don't see more of this in MMA.
You do. You just don’t recognize it.

How risky is the Soto makikomi? I can’t help but imagine a wrestler with a lower stance would just base out and take your back
