Quality vids man, ive got a 95 Discovery. Been in storage for a while due to a backup daily hogging all the repair money. Complete brake system failure and a $2200 repair bill had it in repair jail. Hoping to get it fixed finally. Mines a Gen 1. Miss driving it so your videos are keeping the dream alive. Keep up the content. 3.9 L Gen 1 Disco
Honestly I have very few issues with mine for what it gets out through... I have friends with other brands and they have a similar if not more problems... really depends how you look after them. And I couldn’t tell you about P38s tho, never owned one!
Land rovers in themselves are great little wagons. But it's really down to the owner. If you look after them and maintain them they will perform just as well if not better than most landcruiser and patrols.
A badly owned P could get you some trouble trust me. But it is a rather fantastic piece of motoring. Diesels are slow but reliable. V8s a bit less, lots of cracked blocks and heads. But they do sounds amazing. Biggest issues are interiors and electronics. If a cpu goes bad it is a major fault probably not worth fixing. But spares are around in UK. Bit less everywhere else.
Not sure when the next subscriber trip will be as I’m super busy but I’ll be sure to give everyone plenty of notice!!! I’m running a trip with our local 4WD club in about a month tho which is what the reccy was for 🤙

Love this channel! Greetings from a disco owner from Portugal
Top video! Brings back fond memories of my v8 disco. Best addition I made to mine after fitting better tyres was a rear diff lock

Very nice! Yep I know the feeling, wouldn't be the first time haha. Hope you get it all sorted soon!
Used to go down there with Canterbury Land Rover club brings back happy memories only water i drive through are when the Scottish roads flood.
Four by four by far 👍🇳🇿
Nice to see the old V8 Rangie doing some propper work! :) Any mods to the dizzy etc. for the water crossings?
I reckon!!! The old thing goes great! And yep all have basic waterproofing mods which I’ll be doing a video on soon 👍
I'd definitely be keen to do a run next time you head down the Rakaia river. I'm in Rolleston so just down the road.
Sweet as! I’m pretty busy in the next wee while but I’m looking to do another subscriber trip early next year 👍
That was sick my doode!!!
Thanks!!!
Hes keen doing those river crossings with no snorkel thats a hydraulic disaster waiting to happen
Then after the run they all had to replace their head gaskets.
I'm amazed the range rover has survived so long with being snorkeled. Must be a rear mounted air intake.
The old rangie has in internal snorkel into the cabin 👍 sneaky haha
Super clever
What are the discos like for reliability? Ive always liked p38 range rovers but they seem to have a lot of issues

When's the run your doing down there next?
